One of the most professional companies…
One of the most professional companies I have ever dealt with. From my initial enquiry, through the first review, the subsequent engineers visit and the final installation everything was on time and excellent. To cap it all off the results in terms of the savings I would make have proved extremely accurate. I would recommend them to anyone thinking of installing solar panels.

Excellent, professional workmanship, friendly office staff
All work completed as per original schedule. All workmen very professional in both their work execution, politeness, attention to detail, and them leaving the premises tidy and clean. High quality tuition on system during “handover”.
Company forwarded all required documentation on schedule. When I asked questions they were promptly answered with all information requested.
An excellent service I highly recommend to anyone thinking of installing solar panels.
I am also extremely satisfied with the product.

Great experience and a sound company
Unlike other companies, this one will come round your house and spend the time to go over options and and potential savings, there was no hard sell at all. The Installation went well, apart from a small niggle on setting up the system up. Overall I'm very happy as it's been running smoothly for the last 6 months now. I also recommended to a friend and they also were happy with everything

The company has helped us choose the best system for our need. Installation was a few hours, and we were up and running straight away. Any questions I had have been answered before and after installation. The overall product sold has been very good quality.

Local firm
I chose the firm as they were a local business with bags of experience. They may have been a little more expensive than others claimed to be but every aspect of the installation and after service support has been outstanding. No issues with the equipment but they have answered every question I have asked and provided plenty of advice about getting the max from the panels.

Solar Home were chosen because they were a professional and reputable company.
Solar Home were chosen because they supplied their quotes in a professional way with a site visit. Best advice was then supplied regarding a smart meter and number & position of panels & battery. Once selected their surveyor was instructed which clearly benefited the installation team.
I was aware that cheaper other companies did not carry out any home visits which potentially cause severe problems on the installation day.
The solar Home installers carried out the fit in a professional and friendly manner.

Premium Price, but not a premium performance
The salesman talked me out of having bird guards. Within a week, pigeons were investigating under the panels. I had to spend a day and a half on my roof retrofitting bird guards. He also talked me out of having 2 extra panels which will fit on my roof.
I was informed that my panels were 4.8KW peak and, like an idiot, I assumed that on a sunny day I would get something approaching that. Not a bit of it. The inverter has an output limit of 3.6 KW. So my system is not 4.8KW peak it's 3.6. This is infuriating. I should have been offered a larger inverter and I should have been told about this. After sunset, the power available from my battery is even less. It's 2.5 KW. Why was I not told about this?
The day after I went on holiday for two weeks, the output circuit breaker tripped, thus depriving me of the 13 best generating days of the year. Solarhome is not interested to look into why this happened. "Oh, if it keeps on happening, we will look into it". It has happened once before, but I noticed it within half an hour and restored the breaker
Oh and a ladder blew over during the installation, damaged the guttering and broke a plant pot. Luckily it missed the fence.

We are sorry to read that you have had an issue with birds and were glad to see you were able to resolve this.
With regard to your system peak power, you have 12x 400W panels and so the system is nominally referred to as 4.8kWp (kilowatt peak). However, this does not mean that the system will run at 4.8kW continuous power and no PV system will. The 3.6kW 'limit' you refer to is only relevant to the AC connection of the inverter to the grid and the system is indeed capable of producing more than 3.6kW if the circumstances - solar production, demand within the property, battery charge level etc - allow. Looking at your generation history, this has happened regularly. All specifications of the inverter and battery were provided to you with your quote and these contain maximum power output figures etc.
We have looked back on your report of the power tripping. At no point did we say we weren't interested in investigating, but we advised that a one-off incident is no cause for concern as it may have been caused by some outside influence, but if it became a recurring issue then we would, of course, look into it under your comprehensive warranty.
It was obviously unfortunate that a plant pot was accidentally damaged during the installation. Accidents can happen and we would never deliberately cause any damage. We apologised and felt the matter had been resolved to your satisfaction at the time, but we apologise once again.
Finally, looking at your system performance since installation in early January, up to today, you have only had to purchase a total of 46.93 units of electricity (the equivalent of £12.69 at today's price cap of £0.27p/kWh) to run your entire house for 9x months as a result of having the system installed. We would consider this exceptional performance and it is genuinely disappointing to us that you do not share our view on this. We aim for complete Customer satisfaction and would welcome the opportunity to discuss your concerns further offline. Please contact us if you would like to cover anything in more detail.
