Thank you for your feedback.
We do not normally enter into disputes on review platforms, but unfortunately your review does not accurately reflect what happened, so we feel it is important to set out the facts.
The agreed price to service your solar thermal hot-water system was **£495 including VAT**. During the service, our engineer James identified that the system pump had failed and required replacement.
James clearly wrote down the costs for you before proceeding:
**Solar thermal service: £495**
**Replacement pump supplied and fitted: £1,195**
**Total: £1,690 including VAT**
You agreed to the replacement and instructed James to proceed. The new pump was then supplied and installed, restoring the system.
When James presented the card machine for the agreed £1,690 payment, you then stated that you believed the pump had been quoted at £169. This was clearly not the quotation given, particularly as the originally agreed service alone was £495.
Nevertheless, rather than argue with you at the property, James contacted the office. As a gesture of goodwill and purely to resolve the situation amicably, we authorised him to reduce the **entire £1,690 invoice to just £895 including VAT**.
This meant you received the full £495 service, a brand-new replacement pump, the labour to install it and VAT for a total of £895 — a discount of **£795, nearly 50% of the original invoice**.
You thanked James before he left and the system had been repaired.
Following this, you contacted our office repeatedly and requested a further reduction. Our manager Steve returned your call and explained that, having already reduced a £1,690 invoice to £895, we were not prepared to discount the work any further.
We are therefore extremely disappointed to subsequently receive notification that the £895 payment is now being disputed through your bank, despite the service being completed and the new pump having been supplied and installed at your property.
We have been trading for eight years and have built our reputation on providing a professional service and treating customers fairly. When there was a disagreement over the price in this instance, we reduced the invoice by £795 in an attempt to resolve it immediately and reasonably.
We stand behind the work carried out by our engineer and believe the substantial reduction already provided was more than fair.

System still not working
The engineer turned up on time, was polite and professional. He tested the system and informed us that parts of the system were not performing as they should but that he’d carried out a ‘re-set’. Sadly since then, the system still isn’t working.

You called to say your I-boost system to heat your hot water was not working, your system is 10 years old, the warranty on an I-boost is 2 years, with a life expectancy of 5-8 years.
We serviced your system and found the I-boost was not functioning and needed replacing, your solar panels and system were working at 80% but you would need to change the I-boost as it was end of life.
We charged you £149 inc vat for a service, this does not include the cost for parts as told on the initial call when booking.
We can order the part and fit within 48 hours if required,

SMAR responded with speed
SMAR responded to my request for a maintenance service to our solar system with speed. They also found the inverter was not producing & gave a quote for a replacement for a 3.6kw inverter. One point, SMAR supplied & fitted a 3kw inverter. The Engineers that attended were very polite & appeared to know their stuff. I would recommend.

Professional, informative service
Solar Maintenance and Repairs provided a professional, informative and attentive service conducting a general survey and maintenance check on solar panels in a property I recently moved into. Having minimal knowledge of the solar panel system they took time to explain the features in a clear manner and gave a clear assessment of potential issues and potential actions for maintenance. I would definitely request their services again.

Solar Thermal De-Commissioning
We had an appointment booked for 11am, however, the engineer (James) messaged me to say he was running late and was hoping to be with me for 12.30. He arrived at the revised time and once he had informed me of what de-commissioning the solar thermal system entailed he proceeded with the job. James carried out the work in good time and cleared all de-commissioned gear away leaving site clean and tidy. I received two follow up calls from James checking that everything was okay within the loft space, where a vent from the solar panel had been left to allow any glycol residue to evaporate off.

Decommissioning of old solar thermal sustem
We needed a thermal solar panel decommissioned.
We were struggling to find an Engineer, we came across this company on google search.
The job was booked in for a weeks time which was great as we needed it done asap.
On the day we could not have been more pleased. James discussed our requirements and went above and beyond ensuring our boiler and radiators could now be replaced. Very knowledge very tidy and so helpful. Would definitely recommend anyone wishing to decommission an old solar thermal system contact them. Very happy satisfied customer.

Excellent service and very efficient…
This was the only company that I could find who repair solar hot water panels. The service was excellent and James, the engineer quickly diagnosed the problem and ordered the part. He came the next day to complete the job and service the system. We now have plenty of free hot water again from our 15 year old panels. Great service and a very efficient engineer. Not cheap, but well worth it. Definitetly use them again

Dom was able to fit me into a slot last minute to service my solar panels which I was very grateful for. Dom was professional, polite and friendly and explained clearly what he was doing and what this meant in the report. The price was reasonable and I would highly recommend this service.
It can be daunting having tradesmen in your home, particularly if you are vulnerable or in my situation, a lone female, however, I felt so at ease with Dom and trusted him. He was also clearly passionate about what he does.
