Very happy
After the initial hurdle of contact then setting up my profile everything is running smoothly and I am in contact with a very caring and helpful psychologist 💜💜
Get a different perspective
Skilled listener and helpful in offering insight into complex ingrained thinking patterns, and alternate ways to understanding triggers
I’m feeling much better and I have more knowledge of what I’m dealing with
Only 2 visits but so far all good
Accessible and open
I’ve been meaning to seek help from a psychologist for a long time, but have been put off seeing one in person due to inconvenient times and large gap fees. Someone.health makes the experience a lot more seamless.
My referring doctor was very warm and kindhearted, and explained the process thoroughly. I was lucky enough to find a psychologist that I worked well with from the get go. The GP explained to me that it’s normal to try a few psychologists until you find one you gel with.
It’s great that you have access to such a wide variety of psychologists. Any issues I had regarding payments or getting started was solved quickly by their support team.

False advertising.
I came across this website after Google searching 'EMDR therapists', clicked on it and couldn't find a single therapist that specialises in it. It's not even one of the drop-down options under 'style'.
"Trauma & PTSD Counselling Your someone.health psychologist can work with you to ... Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, Schema Therapy and EMDR."
False advertising and clearly trying to lure in others who are searching for EMDR therapists.

Poor Communication.
Tldr: Booking was a nightmare. My appointments (both psychologist and GP) were cancelled without any communications because one of their headline services (being able to book a GP appointment through them for a MHCP) is not fully functional yet. Customer service was not helpful at all.
I think I spent two hours trying to book an appointment. The website is a mess to navigate beyond looking at psychologist's profiles. By the end of it I checked my dashboard and saw that no appointments were listed (I went through the whole process of booking a psychologist and GP) so I hopped on the live chat. I was told that they could see my psychologist booking but they couldn't see my GP appointment. I was told my appointments would show up on my dashboard soon and I received emails telling me the same. One of which had the subject "GP appointment booked" which said I would receive confirmation for my phycologist "soon". Pretty standard. So I took it at face value, told myself I was being too anxious about it and waited.
I booked these appointments late on a Thursday night for the Monday after next so really only five and a half business days. I know from close friends in the industry that they're completely swamped and often understaffed so the morning of the appointment I contacted the live chat again to hopefully prompt them to get the joining details sent through at least.
I was told both my appointments had been cancelled. With no communication. I immediately knew it had something to do with the GP appointment and when I asked about it I was told they are "still working on their GP process". Basically this service they so prominently offer on their website and within the booking process is not properly working yet. There was no email communication asking if I would be open to paying for the first session or two out of pocket, or if I wanted to postpone until they sorted out their GP process or anything at all. They just silently cancelled my appointments because their system isn't functional.
Even in the live chat no solutions were offered. They never offered to reschedule. Or reinstate the appointment if I was willing to pay fully out of pocket (the slot was still available when I checked). They just offered apologies and short responses. I have dealt with a lot of health professionals in my life, I am incredibly patient and understanding that things happen and the industry is swamped but none of them have had this level of poor service in booking and in customer service.
I passed on the feedback to the live chat person and urged them to escalate it because this experience knocked me around and I'm in a pretty good place all things considered. I hate to think what this situation would do to someone in a worse place.
I hope if you decide to book this service or if you already use them that your experience is better but from mine, I cannot recommend it.

System needs work and incorrect charges…
System needs work and incorrect charges to people already doing it tough financially adds stress with little acknowledgement of this from staff. Actual appointment with psych was great. issues with the booking platform and glitches in the calendar system actually added significant stress and anxiety when I was already in a vulnerable position. Really unhappy with the lack of empathy from support staff on this.

Affordable and accessible therapy
It provides a financially accessible option for access to qualified therapists, many of whom are able to engage with you with only brief waiting periods. The mental health crisis in Australia is out of control, and access to quality therapeutic support is prohibitive for so many people. It is very refreshing to see a business model that aims to remove many of these barriers.

Firstly I would like to make it clear…
Firstly I would like to make it clear that this review is covering Someone health and NOT the actual psychologist.
I was referred to this site by my GP and I will be taking it up with them but right from the the start I was getting email after email asking for information instead of it being clear on the website exactly what they wanted. When I did eventually get everything sorted I had my session and all went well but the psychologist couldn't book me in for another session as their appointment system wouldn't let her book an appointment on the hour. We came to an agreement over that and then a week before that appointment I got charged $40 plus $1.02 handling fee for my next appointment, now considering that on the website they state quite clearly that the first two appointments will be bulk billed and the subsequent appointments will be $40, no mention of a handling charge. I have since got a refund and cancelled by appointment but correct me if I'm wrong but surely anyone seeing a psychologist is under a certain amount of stress and can really do without this extra hassle. I, for one, will definitely NOT be dealing with them again.

Such a helpful service
I have found it fairly straightforward to join someone.health. It is a wonderful service for anyone in need of help or to just talk to someone who listens and cares.
Appointment with psychologist canceled, rebooked, canceled, and repeatedly lied to about it all.
I had an appointment booked with a psychologist named Allie today at 12pm after having seen her last week. I find it hard to connect with a psychologist but Allie immediately ticked all of my boxes which was incredibly reassuring. I had been keeping journal entries up to discuss with her alongside spending half an hour filling out psychological questionnaires last night. I was then told the appointment was cancelled because one of their customer service staff read through the online forms that the psychologist had sent me and they thought I was trying to get some kind of mental health diagnosis when the psychologist isn't qualified to give me that. This was not the case, my psychologist and I had simply discussed potential ADHD characteristics and I did not discuss any intent to diagnose such a condition with her, she just wanted a clearer understanding of my mental health. I was then emailed at 11:47am today, 13 minutes before my appointment, to advise me they have cancelled my follow up appointment and want me to reschedule with a psychiatrist instead. They didn't ask me, they told me they had cancelled it and wanted to reschedule with someone else. In other words, someone who I imagine is not a mental health care professional read confidential information from my dealings with my psychologist, determined what they thought would be best for my mental health without speaking to me or my psychologist, and completely neglected that I had taken time off of work for the appointment today that they canceled with 10 minutes notice. To make matters worse, I emailed them back requesting they immediately reinstate my appointment, highlighting that I was not seeking any kind of diagnosis and that they are mistaken and I am deeply troubled by their conduct, and was then told my appointment would be reinstated and I could see my psychologist now (this was already after 12pm mind you). Just prior to receiving this email, I got a call from the call center operator at someone.health who told me that my psychologist had an emergency of some kind and had canceled ALL of her appointments for the day. The link they had given me for my appointment didn't work anymore because it had already been canceled as well. At 12:30 I finally received the link to my appointment and was half an hour late to it. The psychologist confirmed there was no form of emergency and she had not canceled any of her appointments for the day, and furthermore that apparently someone.health books anyone with ADHD symptoms in to speak with their psychiatrist team and not psychologists, despite the fact that I do not need medication and a diagnosis I just need psychotherapy. All of this has made me realise I cannot trust this service with my personal information, I cannot trust their ability to uphold appointments and their responsibilities, and I certainly don't trust ANY of their customer service team who will make up any lie to get you off the phone. Thought it was a great service. Now I understand why the government wants to step in. Company needs to DRASTICALLY increase training budget for all support staff.

Systems are dreadful! Psych was great.
Actual appointment with psych was great, but the issues with the booking platform and communication with the someone.health team has been DREADFUL. Glitches in the calendar system, requests to complete onboarding tools which do not work and complicated systems for billing have added significant stress.
