First time I’ve eaten breakfast at Sopers House. Unfortunately the customer service was pretty non existent, such a shame as the restaurant is lovely.
The breakfast, looked great on the plate but out of the 6 poached eggs between 3 of us, not one was remotely runny, as you’d expect. I didn’t make a big fuss but my complaint wasn’t even acknowledged, just ignored with no apology. I felt the bar staff to be quite aloof and there needs to be clearer signage about Card only payments. I only carried cash, my friend had to pay for me using card.

Refuel - rude

Refuel cafe has gone down hill over the last few months, two blonde women are so miserable and rude, puts me off of getting my lunch there, for someone that is working in the building, the cafe is convenient but I’ve started to check who’s out the front before even thinking of going in there because I can’t take the rudeness from either of them two

Outstanding Food, Disappointing Service on a Special Occasion

We’ve dined here before and the food has always been outstanding — and that hasn’t changed. The quality, flavour and presentation are still excellent, and the kitchen clearly knows what it’s doing.

Unfortunately, this visit was for a very special occasion — my mother’s 80th birthday — and the service really let the afternoon down. The service was very slow throughout: we ordered drinks and they took ages to arrive, one coffee was forgotten completely, and then the coffee order was mixed up several times. Dessert was also forgotten, and when it did finally arrive we ended up with a dessert brought out twice.

It’s such a shame because we wanted my mum to have a perfect 80th birthday with all the family together, and the delays and mix-ups took the shine off what should have been a lovely celebration.

I would still recommend it for the food, but I’d think twice about returning unless the service improves — it really needs tightening up, with better organisation and staff training.

Elegant Ambience

I had a truly A-MAZ-ING time with my family at the restaurant. The Sunday Roast meal was absolutely divine.

My family and I would like to give a HUGE "THANK YOU" to Koshita in particular, and her fellow colleagues, whom all served us so remarkably well during the afternoon.

We received a very helpful, friendly and warm customer service...100%!!

In addition, I received a very delicious 'Happy Birthday' sponge cake, which was a wonderful surprise, beautifully presented and very scrumptious indeed.

The atmosphere and design was so cosy and comfortable, coupled with splendid singing from a live performer.

As for myself being a first visitor, I will definitely be back!! (Smile).

Spoke to Ellie

I called up today and I spoke to a lovely lady called Ellie she helped me with a health and safety enquiry she was very prompt and efficient and could answer all my questions with clear communication she was very helpful. If I ever call back I hope to speak to her again 👍

Great evening

Great evening, Angela was very polite and friendly and made sure we had everything that we needed. She was very attentive and very professional. We actually thought she was the Manager!

Fourth and last time eating at Sopers…

Fourth and last time eating at Sopers House restaurant. Food has always been good but service is dire. First time we went for Father’s Day and they ran out of mugs for coffee - not particularly busy time.
Second time went with friends on a weekday evening. Took our order and served food fairly quickly. However no one came near us again to ask if we wanted more drinks or dessert etc. Eventually I went inside to ask for more drinks to be informed that the bar was closed! No one had asked if we would like anything before it closed. When we said this to the waitress, she said “ take off the service charge “. No apologies.
Gave it another chance last Saturday and arranged to meet friends for breakfast at 10.30. When we arrived we were told there was no sourdough, no brown bread and no muffins which left a very limited menu. There’s a Tesco across the road!
Absolutely disappointed with this place. Has potential to be a great place but really let’s itself down unfortunately.
