I've been using Speechling for 4 years to improve my French and Spanish. It's been a valuable resource for me. I've submitted thousands of recordings and my language coaches have given me accurate and timely feedback. I feel like my pronunciation has improved drastically. Still with an accent that I'm trying to get rid of, but hopefully with time I improve even more.

I signed up for Speechling and found that the service is quite poor. First of all, you rarely get any constructive feedback- most teachers tend to mark things as correct despite the fact that the pronunciation is wrong. Secondly, I have difficulty making one sound and chose to pronounce the "r" in Portuguese in a different way than the teacher's preference. The teacher mocked me, despite asking her not to correct that sound. When I asked to change the teacher, Speechling admitted that they only have 2 for Portuguese and refused to change. Lastly, there is is no warning that they will renew your subscription.

If you want a program to repeat the sentences for little to no feedback and no updates, Speechling is great. If you're actually looking for improvement, a private tutor will get you farther in 5 hours.

Beware! Beware!
I was impressed with the Speechling method, in spite of various translation mistakes that I spotted here and there.
So, I subscribed to Speechling using the $23 monthly rate paid quarterly.
Within minutes Speechling took $191 from my Paypal account. I sent two emails asking for explanations and a possible refund. NO REPLY WHATSOEVER!!!

As a user of their free language app (I don’t utilize the paid feature at this time), I find this app to be:
-Very user friendly, solid interface
-Have a wide variety of content
-Is fantastic for listening comprehension

I use this app almost exclusively as interpreting practice. It has two native speakers at all levels I’ve tried and they speak in full sentences.

I would encourage this app to any language learner! Especially if you are looking for content to practice interpreting.

It is an excellent company to improve, especially pronunciation in any language. My 3 star rating is due to the lousy "refund" service. They renew your membership without notice, and when you claim a refund they tell you that you must read the almost hidden clauses of their contract. A dishonest and undesirable practice: therefore two stars for their service. For the rest, very efficient.
