SPLEND - take a look you might be surprised

We just walked in off the street to look at a vehicle for UBER and Tristan came out to see if he could help.
Being new to the Uber industry we had lots of questions and Tristan could answer them all. He was a lovely young man and clearly new the Company and how it operates. Calm and Knowledgable, spoke clearly and had good eye contact. We had an appointment so left and came back. Tristan gave us more time on our return. I was suprised at how PROFESSIONAL UBER was run through SPLEND

Terrible company

Splend is a terrible company with the most horrendous customer service. Don't be fooled by the 5-star reviews as they ask you to leave a review once you first sign up. As you will see most of the negative reviews are once people actually start using them and encounter problems. Here is how we have been scammed out of $1500. I rented a car from splend and I was a loyal customer. One night we parked the car to go to dinner. When we returned, the car had been smashed into while parked and the driver took off. Luckily someone had witnessed the other car smashing into our car while we were gone and we called the police. The police found the intoxicated driver in his car around the corner from where our car was parked and the driver admitted he had smashed into our car. The police wrote a report and told us if we had any issues we could call on them to testify that we were not a fault. We then called Splend who organised a tow truck. The contract splend has with their drivers states the driver must pay a $1500 excess fee and will receive this back in 3 weeks, once their insurance confirms we are not at fault. We explained the situation and told them the police had found the driver that was at fault. 3 Years later we have not had our excess of $1500 returned because when they tried to contact the driver that was at fault, he would not answer or admit fault. Therefore, Splend have said they do not have to return the excess to us. They don’t answer their phones and cannot put you through to any claims department although I have been trying to rectify this for 3 years. They never respond to emails or calls. Only ever saying they will lodge the complaint but never the less we get no response. So essentially if you have an accident, whether your fault or not, you will be giving them $1500. Splend is unfortunately looking to take what they can get from people and are uninterested in providing a good experience for their drivers as you can see from all the bad reviews. Please don’t risk using this company.

Hi there, I have sent a request for your information so that I can look into your specific case. What has been outlined above is not accurate though as n cases where funds are non recoverable, the DLW or excess cannot be refunded. Sadly it is quite common in incidents like these that liability is initially established, the third party often has a different version of events when contacted after the fact, denies liability and there are no funds recovered, meaning Splend is left with the bill. The damage liability waiver is there to protect our clients and allows us to attempt to recover funds and prove liability on their behalf. In a case where the damage exceeds the $1500 amount, our client is in a fortunate position where the balance is covered by Splend, regardless of amount.

Ben and Simon were absolutely fantastic! From start to finish, they were professional, friendly, and genuinely helpful. They went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly and made me feel completely comfortable throughout the process. Their communication was clear and efficient, and they showed true care for the customer experience. I highly recommend their service to anyone looking for a reliable and supportive team!
