Upload a picture, pick a size and a thread brand, then edit the chart stitch by stitch before you print. It also makes needlepoint, diamond painting, fuse bead and C2C crochet patterns. Your photo is converted with color matching, not generative AI, so the pattern is your picture. Colors are matched to 50+ thread brands, including DMC and Anchor. You can export each pattern as a color or black-and-white PDF, or as a PDF for the Pattern Keeper app. Stitchmate runs in your browser, and lifetime passes include a desktop app for Mac and Windows that works offline. Very easy to use
Very easy to use, and yields excellent patterns. I used the highest ‘resolution’ for the most detail, and the patterns look excellent, and have DMC colours. Pleased enough that I’ve used it to make 3 patterns.

Developer went above and beyond
After the developer's fixes, I'm extremely happy with Stitchmate. For me, one of the key factors in judging a program — beyond just its features — is the developer's responsiveness to feedback, and that's exactly what I got here. The developer even compensated me financially for the issues, refunding my payment while still keeping my lifetime access intact. Updates come out frequently and keep improving the program. The developer genuinely listens to user feedback! There are flexible pricing plans to fit any budget, and the software itself is lightweight and easy to use. Highly recommend!

I deeply apologize for the long time it took me to reply (summer break – by no means an excuse for me). Your review led me to re-prioritize faster responses and invest in a system to track all customer feedback and get notified of each one on my phone.
The bugs are all fixed now, and I emailed you privately about the details. The lost patterns have a good chance of being recovered too.

I'm curious what is it that you're missing from Stitchxcross, except 100% free?
Being a paid commercial product is what allows Stitchmate to sustainably grow and improve over time thanks to user support. In my opinion, it's not a valid reason to give it 2 stars just because it's not 100% free.

I'm sorry for the confusion and understand the frustration of hitting a paywall after putting in the work and time.
It was not deliberate.
The wording on the landing page was indeed confusing: my intention was to say "free to edit, design, learn and play, and PDFs are paid"
I've updated the landing page since then to remove phrases that could be interpreted as free PDFs.
Intuitive Tools and Palettes
Relatively intuitive tools to simplify transfer of concept to pattern. No prior experience required. Palettes are good, and the tools work quickly and efficiently.
