Strayer University Avis 4

I just graduated from Strayer University June 23rd of this year with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration concentrating on Human Resource Management. I also turned 48 on June 30th of this year! It was a little bit of a struggle for me at first because I hadn't been in school since I was 15 years old, 27 years! (Istarted my Strayer journey in January of 2020) Then I started seeing the support that I had access to, day or night! For the most part, the professors and instructors were great. There were a couple of dudds but like they say "You have to take the bad right along with the good sometimes". Regardless, I feel like the support system is out of this world amazing! The icampus/blackboard platform, AMAZING! The library, AMAZING! Library staff, SUPER AMAZING! The best, most interesting class, hands down, Business Law! If you're considering taking your education further, I definitely, highly recommend taking a look at Strayer University! I have been thinking about re-enrolling and getting my Master's Degree in Business Administration! I just might go and look at that right now! I have been at Strayer University online for 9 weeks. The 2 instructors I have are great. Everything else has been a relatively poor experience. The issue for the review is the laptop program they offer. I'm enrolled in the bachelor's program that comes with a laptop. When I was recruited, I inquired about the laptop being available for the associate program. It was only available for the bachelor program and I didn't know if I was ready to commit to 4 yrs. In the end, I told her lets do it and we proceeded with the necessary paperwork. I am going to say right here that as soon as I looked at Strayer University, this woman called me. I was only looking at their programs and what they offered trying to figure out what direction I was going, for how long, and who with comparing tuition. I never asked for any calls, it is their job to sell and to sell the bachelor's program instead of the Associate. I got a late start because of an accident and I thought they left me in the Associate program but it wasn't the case they did put me in the Bachelor of Business. So after getting caught up, I needed the laptop and reached out to get it, and was told no because my recruiter said I started in the Associate and transferred to the bachelor program. I wasn't going to respond to that because it just does not make sense, how can someone who has only been attending 2 maybe 3 weeks, because of the accident, transfer programs? It's ridiculous, I just started classes at 47 due to a disability I need to work from home. Why would I go two weeks in a two yr program and say oops let me switch to a 4 yr program real quick while trying to play catch up? When I got the email that I must not have received the email that I wasn't eligible for the laptop I responded letting them know that I did and what I thought to which I received a polite word of you will persevere. There were a couple of other issues that bothered me and after looking at what others said when I tried to see if it was a common problem I saw a pattern. Just do diligent research before going back to school.

The education provided by Strayer University is good, but please be aware that 95% of the work that goes into anything related to academic work is done by Teaching Assistants who make well below poverty level. We are required to have Master's Degrees in the field we TA in, previous teaching experience a plus and we are not paid enough to live on. There is no health insurance and there are substantial benefits given that we are limited to part time work. The teaching assistants have collectively asked for a living wage and have been told to find different jobs that pay enough to live on. So please keep that in mind when considering Strayer University.

I am a returning student. The reenrollment process literally took 5 minutes! Their online services are the best ! This includes tutoring and their icampus/blackboard. Algebra is not my favorite subject, however, that has changed. Their online tutoring has worked with me to understand and be able to pass a math exam with a B+, this was my last grade needed to pass the semester. I look forward to continuing my bachelors degree with the help and support I've always experienced with Strayer.
