Disappointing experience – poor handling of missing belongings
The organisation of the removal itself was reasonably precise, and the collection and arrangements were handled fairly well. Unfortunately, the experience fell apart when it came to the delivery.
Not all of my belongings were delivered. In particular, two essential components of a rocking chair were missing, leaving the chair unusable.
What followed has been an extremely frustrating waste of time. For three months, I repeatedly contacted the company, submitted and resubmitted the requested claim information and provided the evidence they asked for. Despite all these attempts, the issue has still not been resolved.
Even more disappointing, they have now stopped responding to my emails altogether.
In my experience, this is a very unprofessional company that does not take responsibility when something goes wrong. A company should be judged not only by how well it organises a removal when everything goes smoothly, but also by how it deals with problems and missing belongings afterwards.
I also found some of the documentation provided during the process surprisingly informal, with documents lacking basic company details that I would expect to see on official business documentation. This did not inspire confidence in the professionalism of the service.
Overall, what should have been a straightforward international removal has turned into three months of chasing, repeated paperwork, frustration and wasted time, with no satisfactory resolution and, ultimately, no response.
I would strongly recommend making sure you understand exactly who the legal contracting company is and what happens if belongings are missing before booking.
