I purchased a Katana from swordforsale (Masamune) I ordered it on the 20th of March it was delivered today 27th of March. Wow what a beautiful sword far exceeded my expectations, Amazing. It was well packaged even came with a cloth bag to keep it in, the blade was lightly oiled. Highly recommend this company. I must admit I was dubious after reading some of the reviews, totally unfounded.

I put in an order for parts a month and half ago at the time of this review and have yet to receive an email with a tracking number. I would give 0 stars if I could, Completely unprofessional. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY ITS A SCAM.

i ordered my sword on 21 nov 2025 it came on 4th dec 25 , then read reviews so got worried so about a week i emailed them i got a reply which said dly 7 to 10 days , it actually came a few days early sword is great really pleased it would give piece of mind if they gave tracking numbers but i would by from this supplier again

I ordered 2 swords without reading any reviews. After some thought I decided to check them out and was horrified and immediately worried I may have been scammed.
Then I was very pleasantly surprised when both swords turned up within 5 days of me ordering, bearing in mind I ordered on a Saturday night. I opened up the well packaged swords and I am very pleased with the quality and condition on both pieces.
There was not much in the way of shipping updates but ultimately I am verry happy with my new swords and the timeframe for delivery was much better than expected.
I would definitely recommend this company and will use them again.

As other reviews have said, you receive zero communications back from this company. I ordered a sword from them a couple of years ago with no hassle and quality is amazing.
I decided to order another two for display but only one arrived and was shipped from France.
Quality is lower than my original and no sigh of the second or any communication from this company.
I will be contacting my credit card company for a refund.

Hi.So definitely not a scam. Yes the tracking number doesn't work, yes they don't communicate with you but after 9 business days the product arrived (and it's amazing->big demon slayer fan and orderer Sanemi Shinazugawa sword ).

I ordered my sword on the 03/04/25. The tracking info through the "shop" app was a little sketchy stating my item had been delivered when it hadn't. This had me a little concerned. I started sending emails to both addresses asking about my order...no response to anything, as stated in multiple reviews on here! Then I looked up the company on trustpilot and a barrage of bad reviews confirmed my worst fears...Scammers alert!! I immediately contact paypal to raise a dispute...dispute raised and sent of to the company. Just as I clicked send, the door bell goes!!....courier stood at the door with my sword!! Exactly 8 days after ordering it. ..Doh!! It is a magnificent looking item just as in the picture and as described... more than happy. Apologies sent and dispute closed. I would have given 5 stars if they responded...even a courteous automated response! Communication lets them down!!

I received my Katana today, but there are a few issues, the Katana/Saya do not exactly match the photos.

1. The Hamon is much smaller than shown, but it is there in the light at angles.
2. The Saya has a tree and a bird, not the Dragon as shown in the one on the website.
3. The brass fitting on the blade is different, its the blacked out web style one, not a plain one as in photo.
4. The Iron handguard is glossy and not gold brushed and matte like in the photos.

The blade looks really nice, but the tip has a slight bend on the very very end and there are TWO small chips in the blade near the tip. this should not have passed QC for £300

Not only this their communication is almost non existent with only one reply to the many emails over the past 1-2 weeks, they really need to have someone full time work on customer support...

Absolutely disgusted with this fake company, bought a sword months ago to make sure it arrived in time as a birthday present I emailed constantly to see where my order was but never got a reply so found a phone number which surprise surprise was fake! I’ve continued to email with no joy at all. The sword cost me £150 in total I can’t believe I’ve wasted that much money on these idiots! My advice would be don’t waste your money on these fraudulent idiots!

I am extremely dissatisfied with my recent purchase. The sword I received significantly deviates from the product I viewed and purchased online. The sheath/Saya is grossly oversized for the blade, resulting in poor fit and an unsettling rattling noise with every movement. This constitutes a complete failure and a severe disappointment. I will not consider purchasing from your company again. Most dishearteningly, this experience has irrevocably tarnished the romantic ideal of the honor associated with Japanese swordsmithing, which I held dear.

This place is legit i just got mine the day and its more than i expect well happy with it.thanls guys and keep up the good work

Not UK legal !
Do not buy from here in the UK. They say there swords are hand made but I have a forensic police report saying they are not.
I sent this report to them twice and they never emailed back. They know they are lying to you and you would not believe the trouble you could be in if your found with one of there swords

A beautiful sword arrived well packaged and in good time. Terrible communication though and no tracking info. I don't think this is a scam or a dodgy company, just a 'not very competent one' they can and do make beautiful samurai swords though

If I could give less stars I would, do not use this site. They do not reply to emails at all and the number on the website is fake. They are not to be trusted. Do not use them

Good: It's great customer service and value and helpful with enquiries.

Bad: may take longer to reply (not just because of timezone difference) and shipping information is hard to work out

Good: Happy with sword for price and would order again, sword came quickly and they helped me to make sure I got it for the wedding

I recently ordered a sword from SwordsforSale, but I was disappointed with the quality of the product I received. The scabbard and handle do not align properly when the sword is closed, and the sword feels loose inside the scabbard. This is definitely not the level of craftsmanship I expected.

I contacted their customer support team with my concerns and requested a return label so I could send the item back for a refund, but unfortunately, I have not received any response. The lack of communication is very frustrating.

Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this site to anyone, as both the product quality and customer service have been poor. I have all the proof.

Don't listen to the scam scare reviews, not my experience. Not a scam! Yes I received my sword a tad later than was expected, and I also I didn't hear from the company promtly when i contacted them, these things the company could do better with communication to alay customer fears. I am well pleased with the quality of the sword when it arrived, It's razor sharp and a well made sword.

Item arrived damaged . Not able to return… and no replies to emails . Having to go through credit card to get refund .
Basically china made poor quality swords

The katana has honestly exceeded all my expectations. I bought it at a 10% discount as well. It arrived in a great new condition, well packed, and the blade was oiled as well. Very satisfied... thank you!

Very very disappointed - U did not receive the sword shown on the website, ordered or paid for.

I do not expect miracles paying just less than £300 but I did expect the sword to be as described and as shown in the photos. It is not, it is a poorly executed representation. The decoration on the sword received is not as shown in the photos. There is detail of the bamboo missing on the tsuba and surrounding parts. Also the part on the bottom of the handle is not at all like the bamboo leaves in the photos. I would probably have accepted the sword with the sub standard decoration at this price point but what is concerning is the terrible fit of the blade in the scabbard. The blade rattles about and is loose in the scabbard. More worrying and potentially dangerous is that it would fall out of the scabbard if tipped up. This could cause an accident with potentially serious consequences. It should be tight and require pushing free with the thumb. It does not fit at all.

The seller claims a 30 refund policy but of course this means swallowing the cost of returning the sword to an address in China when the website misleads you into believing you are dealing with them in the UK.

No communication is responded to….Avoid like the plague.
