Tajima Direct Avis 

Tajima-Direct made prescription lenses for my Costa Blackfin Pro sunglasses. Great at first, but the mirror coating started to crack and wear off at about 15 months of daily use. I always wash and dry them with soft cloth, which I have done with many other sunglasses that have lasted me years. i sent them in for a warranty evaluation and the owner, Jacob, said the wear was NORMAL. not acceptable for the price of the lenses. I now buy directly from the brand, which are made by Barberini, Italy. Twice the quality in optics.

First I tried the manufacture, they only offered a discount coupon. When I found out about this company was thrilled to give them a try.
The shipping was easy the price was fair, the communication was unbelievable and the glasses are perfect,
I no longer need to worry about dropping my glasses!

My experience with Tajima is one hundred percent the opposite of the horror show I experienced repeatedly and with an unsuccessful end with the Lensabl folks!

They did a great job fillinf my prescription for progressive lenses.

Communication, product, fit and finish and how they operate should be a model for all companies. Jacob kept me informed through the process and was even willing to hold my frames until I could send a segment height measurement for them. Just got my costas back and the segment height they esitmated is spot on. So good, I sent them another pair for lenses.

I had a pair of Gucci sunglasses, and I was told by my eye doctor I could not replace the lenses. I found this website, and I am blown away by how fast and easy this process was. Had a pair of Maui Jim Black Coral kick ass sunglasses that I could not wear anymore cause needed the prescription. Came across Tajima Direct and they solved my problem. Lens look great. Jacob was great to work with. Well recommended!

I had a pair of discontinued Maui Jim frames in like new condition. Because they were discontinued, Maui Jim would not install progressive lenses so I was out of luck. I contacted Jacob at Tajima Direct, and he and Steve were more than helpful. I received my glasses back from them and I am very impressed with the quality and how clear the lenses are. I would recommend them highly and know I will be using them in the future for all my sunglasses. Awesome customer service!

My experience with Tajima was exceptional. I have a prescription that is difficult fit into a lot of sunglass frames I like. Tajima was able to make and install lenses that were substantially lighter into frames that the sunglass company could not do. I ended up with the frames I wanted with lighter lenses than would have come from the manufacturer.
Customer service was top notch from start to finish. I can’t say enough on how happy I am with Tajima.

This is a quality lense, excellent customer service and quick turn around. I had a pair of Persols. The glass lense shattered after a many years of use. I purchased new lenses from a lower cost site. Worked well enough but was scratching and getting a weird oil and water look to it. This new lease and crystal clear. Glad I took a chance. Thank you for the service

Wow! Dealing with Tajima Direct, and Jacob in particular, was great. I absolutely LOVE my progressive lenses that they put into my existing Maui Jim frames.

My Maui lenses started to peel, and Maui said I was out of warranty and nothing they would do for me. My husband did some research and found great reviews of Tajima Direct, so I decided to give them a try. I am extremely happy I did. The cost of my progressive lenses was half the price of Maui lenses. They have free shipping to/from and the turnaround time was incredible.

I highly recommend Tajima Direct and will definitely do business with them again and have shared my positive experience with friends and family.

The lens colour was needed for flying, where the requirement was to improve the definition of clouds for gliding - so I could see where the lift was best.

I left the colour choice to Tajima and they chose well because the lens are the best I have used, and the short distance reading is well positioned in the bottom corners to read the instruments with no visual distortion in the process.

Great communication. We were hesitant to try on-line lens replacement but Tajima made it very easy. The product we received is great quality and the workmanship is great! Everywhere we went said they couldn’t replace our prescription Maui Jim lens with our new prescription. Tajima did that for us. We couldn’t be happier.

This company has great customer service. I ordered replacement Rx lenses for some Smith sunglasses. The order was delayed because of some quality issues and having the lenses re-worked, but they were communicative during the entire process and eventually overnighted the glasses to me in time for a fishing trip.
The quality of the Rx lenses are great as well, couldn't be more satisfied.

Eh. I bought the gray polarized lenses without a prescription. Compared to my Zenni lenses (gray, polarized, CR39), there's no perceptible difference in vision quality.

Trees and water do seem to pop a tiny bit more, but that's because the lenses have a slight greenish blue tint and are not a true gray. As a result, color accuracy is compromised and I'm unhappy about that (I wanted gray for a reason). For reference, I've professionally calibrated TVs and computer monitors, and have a perfect score on a color hue test.

Customer service offered me to send the lenses back for them to reexamine, but I declined as I didn't think it'd be worth the hassle.

Overall, the lenses do not outperform a budget brand, but they're decent. I'd say the gray lenses are in-between an actual gray lens and a green lens. If they prove more resistant to crazing (reason I'm looking to move on from Zenni) then I may keep ordering from this company.

Incredible lenses - simply the best. I've been a long time addict to Kaenon lenses but their frame styles don't work for me. I've been thrilled to be able to get the same lenses as Kaenon from Tajima and in the frames I want. I prefer the brown/green mirror but have been thrilled with others as well. Service and communication has been awesome too.
