Teesside Caravans 

Having previously submitted a positive review from our purchase, I will now follow up with my overall experience of Teesside Caravans which unfortunately is rather lacking. Having purchased our new Swift Conqueror we set off a couple of weeks later to the South of France. On boarding the ferry at Hull we noticed all power had failed in the caravan. Despite much dismantling and testing no resolution. Not sure if we should turn around and get the next ferry home, we decided to travel to central Belgium and try to resolve, still no joy, all food now binned from fridge and the caravan ATS has now locked the wheels solid on the pitch. Managed to free off wheels and move on to central France as we knew a site which would help out and we could always rent accommodation. Discussed with head mechanic at Teesside Caravans and he suggested battery fault. Bought new battery, euro 325, no change. Electrics now working when on mains only. Eventually I asked if I could open the fuse box compartment without invalidating warranty and told ok. There it was the main input from battery hanging down, just not fitted properly. Now electrics back up and running, but the wheels still locked intermittently, so decided to go no further and set off home early. Teesside Caravans staff could not have been more unconcerned, only the senior mechanic seemed to have any professional aptitude. Sold caravan into the trade at a loss of some £10000, 10 days holiday in total, most of it very uncomfortable. Nightmare purchase, from a company which once they have your money, couldn't care less.

We have been customers here for years, we bought a Bailey Caravan elsewhere as they did not have the model we wanted despite 3 visits to view their stock. I wanted some warranty work done and called in to make a booking only to be told that they would not look at the caravan under Bailey warranty because we purchased elsewhere! I challenged them as Bailey will still pay them for warranty work no matter where the caravan was purchased but to no avail. The caravan service is due in June but guess what, I’ll not be spending another penny with them EVER!
