Dr Vafa Derakshan amazing

I had a telehealth appointment today with Dr Vafa Derakshan through Teldoc and honestly couldn't be more impressed.

I've never done something like this before and was a bit unsure going in, but he made the whole process incredibly easy. He explained everything clearly, was patient and took the time to make sure I fully understood what I needed to do.

He helped me organise a referral for an important test and made what felt stressful at first feel simple and manageable.

Really appreciate the professionalism and kindness. Can highly recommend to anyone needing a quick and helpful telehealth consult

Will definitely be using this service again! It was so easy to book an appointment last minute when I really needed one. The doctors are very professional, responsive and easy to talk to. 10/10

I got the instant GP service.

Due to some health issues, I couldn’t travel. I reached out to teldoc, and they got me an appointment right away. They diagnosed my issue and gave me a prescription right away. I highly recommend them and for future appointments I will use teledoc only.

'Teldoc' (Health Engine) vs 'Teledoc'

I understand 'Teldoc' is the trading name of Health Engine? I'm a 77 year old, with CSHCard, who phoned on a December evening when I'd done a positive RAT for what was my 3rd Covid infection (4 x vaccinated). I requested a script for antivirals. Your doctor charged me $69, declined to give me a script for the antiviral I'd had successfully for my 2nd infection (Paxlovid) 12 months earlier, said he would only give me a script for Lagevrio, even though I told him I'd had that for my 1st infection in 2022 and it resulted in my vomiting (+ diarrhoea). Luckily, I then received a callback from a doctor from Teledoc, and after I sorted the confusion between your 2 names, he immediately issued a script direct to our local pharmacist for Paxlovid and my wife was able to go there and collect my antivirals, 10 minutes prior to the pharmacy closing at 7.00pm. So I had excellent service from Teledoc, bulk billed, and no effective service from Teldoc and charged $69. Thank you for the opportunity to review.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We understand your frustration, and we want to address your concerns.

Firstly, we would like to clarify information regarding Medicare rebates. Medicare rebate policies for COVID-19 telehealth consultations have changed, and unfortunately, we are no longer able to provide bulk-billed COVID-19 telehealth consultations in the way that may have been previously available. This is due to changes in government medicare policy, and is not a choice made by our individual company. All our GP's provide bulk billing and Medicare rebates where it is available, and we are always updating our policies in line with Medicare requirements.

Secondly, we have been unable to locate your patient details within our system. It is possible there may have been a mix up with the company that was used. Health Engine is a booking platform, and there are many different Medical Centres that use their booking services. If you would like to provide further information, so we can investigate further, please contact us to discuss.

Regarding the medication prescribed, our doctors make clinical decisions based on current medical guidelines and individual patient needs, prioritising medication safety. The choice between Paxlovid and Lagevrio is based on a thorough assessment of a patient's medical history and potential risks.

We appreciate your feedback and will use it to improve our communication and processes. We are sorry for the confusion and any inconvenience caused.

Unwell While on Holiday

I was holidaying in Airlie Beach, I live in NZ. My call was answered straight away, details taken. Was told a doctor would phone me back in 15 minutes and that is exactly what happened.
Doctors questions were thorough, medication prescribed and I had it in my hand within 30 minutes.
Absolutely excellent service and a very reasonable price. There was no hesitation that I was not an Australian.
Highly recommend.

Great TeleHealth Option!

Easy to book, simple new patient paperwork, appointment was right on time, the doctor was pleasant to talk to, great communication from clinic (both for confirmation of appt and recieving digital documents afterwards instantly), straight forward billing.
I had not used a telehealth service before, so wasn't sure what to expect. This appointment was efficient and stress free. I will definitely use Teldoc again.
