Hi Joy, thanks for the feedback and we're sorry you aren't getting on so great with your brush. The pins on all of our brushes are rounded, polished and skin-safe by design — so what you're describing shouldn't be how it feels in normal use.
A couple of things can make any slicker feel uncomfortable to a dog: pressing harder than needed (ours are is designed to glide, minimal pressure needed) or using it on a short or flat-coated dog rather than the long, thick, wavy and curly coats it's built for.
The other thing we often see with Doodles — and it's worth flagging because it's so common — is that dogs who've had uncomfortable grooming experiences in the past (usually with cheaper brushes with sharp, unfinished pins, or with matted coats being worked through too aggressively) can come to anticipate pain the moment any brush appears, and react as if it's hurting even when it isn't. It can take a little time and some positive association (short sessions, treats, stopping before they get fed up) for them to relearn that brushing isn't something to brace against and it can actually be quite enjoyable. That's true of any tool, not just ours.

Amazing brush!

Works wonderfully on poodle!
The brushes work wonderfully on my Moyen poodle. She hasn't attempted to bite them like she's done on her last two brushes. She looks like she's had a grooming after I finish brushing her. Very well designed!

Although my picky poodles still don’t…
Although my picky poodles still don’t love being brushed, they tolerate these brushes better than any others I have tried. And they do a good job of getting through their thick easy-to-mat fur.

My doodle seemed so much more relaxed
My doodle enjoyed his brushing and didn't mind the time it took. It made my job more enjoyable to. It was so much easier with less pulling, I finished up with less frustration.

Received 3 different brushes, the solid big one isn't good for a small dog,but the split one & the smaller one work great. Use the comb more than the brushes. Very satisfied!

Instant game changer compared to my old brush.
It’s always been a long fight with my Cavapoo to pull a wire brush through his coat. No discomfort, I think, but annoyed by it pulling. With the first few uses of the Doodlebrush it was obvious it was more comfortable for my dog. Instead of several passes with the old brush a couple with the new made short work of his fur.
Still looks like a curly scruff bag but a lovely, smooth, soft, tangle free scruff bag.
Great brush.
