This was my third time ordering cakes from April, and I couldn’t be happier. She is incredibly kind, helpful, and always quick to respond. She’s also very flexible and accommodating when it comes to specific requests, which makes the whole experience smooth and enjoyable.
I honestly can’t say enough about how delicious her cakes are. We’re not big fans of buttercream or heavy icing, so finding someone who makes fresh cream cakes, especially in Cambridge, is quite rare. April’s cakes are exactly what we were looking for.
Her flavours are unique, the decorations are beautiful, and the cakes are perfectly balanced, not overly sweet, which we really appreciate. Without exaggeration, these are some of the best cakes I’ve ever had, even compared to ones I’ve tried in different countries.
I highly recommend her cakes to anyone looking for something special and truly delicious.

I got the Basque cheesecake for my colleague’s birthday and it was absolutely amazing! From the moment it was served, everyone was impressed by how beautiful it looked, but the taste truly stole the show. The texture was perfectly balanced, it is creamy, rich, and smooth. Each bite literally melted in the mouth without feeling overly heavy, which made it easy to go back for more. It was a big hit with everyone at the celebration, and several people asked where it was from. Easily one of the best cheesecakes I’ve ever had.
Can’t wait to get another one for the next celebration!

We ordered a birthday cake for our 5-year old boy which was beautiful and tasted just amazingly. It was beautifuly made to the last detail and kids loved it.

Had GAO’s cakes a few times now, and they’ve never disappointed. They always look stunning, and the texture is so airy and light. I was especially happy to let my non-Asian friends try this delicacy. The pandan flavour was such a unique and delicious pairing with the strawberry fruit. I feel very lucky to have been one of the giveaway winners, and I’m already looking forward to buying another one in the near future!

That is a posh cake shop I ever seen in Cambridge. I cannot count how many time I ordered from them. And the lychee cake is my favourite.

Have ordered from Gao Cambridge since 2024. Incredible Asian flavours with beautiful cake designs, delivered straight to your home. I’ve had the matcha, jasmine and black sesame flavours - they are all delicious (and my party guests agree too!). Attention to detail is great and lots of effort put into personalising the cake to your request.

April did an amazing job of creating a beautifully made cake in the shape of a Husky. My partner adores huskies, so when he received his cake, he was just over the moon. We both loved the taste of the cake too. The flavors were blended amazingly well, and the cake was so light and fluffy. April is probably the best cake maker in all of Cambridge! I also really appreciated the delivery service.

Our favourite cake in Cambridge! The rose and lychee cake is light, airy and has a delicate balance of rose flavour. The lychees add texture and sweetness but overall it's not too sweet. Decoration is exquisite. Communication is excellent, rapid, responsive and personal. Would highly recommend

The most beautiful cake - delivered exactly how I had imagined! Deep, intense matcha flavour and all so light and delicious. My daughter was as delighted with it as I was. This was my first chiffon cake from Gao Cambridge and will definitely not be my last! I am already planning what to have next time…

Cake looked exactly like the inspiration pictures, beyond beautiful! It also tasted amazing, the layers were all so fluffy and light. Couldn’t recommend more
