The Highland Club Avis 

We truly loved our stay at the Highland Club but 2 limitations force me to give it 4 stars instead of 5. 1) We placed the "tidy up" sign on our doorknob (hoping for fresh towels) and when we returned the sign was laying on the heater and no towels had been left. 2) Pool hours are very limited so we didn't get the chance to use it while we were there but would have loved to have the chance!

We stayed in many places when we visited Scotland this is by far the best place we stayed it was truly a wonderful experience. Also the restaurant that is Within walking distance was super highly recommend a great place to stay

We enjoyed our stay at the Highland Club very much. The apartment was sparkling clean and the welcome package with wine, milk, cereals and snacks was much appreciated. We had an apartment with a terrace with a view out to Loch Ness. The apartment was nicely decorated and the kitchen well equipped. The washer/dryer was one unit and right in the kitchen. We did have a scheduling problem (on our end) with checking in, since we had afternoon tickets to the Jacobite Express. It would be best to book your train tickets for the morning or for an afternoon after you have checked in at the Highland Club. We were not able to take advantage of the pool or other activities since we were on the go all the time. The little town of Fort Augustus was so cute and just a few steps away.
The apartment has many fire doors inside separating the rooms, this must have been a requirement for the building code in renovating the Abbey. It takes a little getting used to, but it was fine after a day or two.
The unit was so spacious and having 2 bathrooms was a bonus for a family of 4 adults.

We always carefully research places to stay when we travel and like to book outside the realm of the usual hotel. That's why The Highland Club apartment was perfect for us.

We received an hour-long tour of the facilities before being shown to our apartment, which was much larger than anticipated and thoughtfully equipped to a very high standard. There was even a bottle of wine and gourmet goodies for us to enjoy.

We shopped for groceries at Fort William, on our way up from Glasgow. The Morrison's there carries a full range of perishable and non-perishable items - certainly more than the small multi-purpose store in Fort Augustus. That said, we could have also managed very well shopping locally.

We spent our four days and nights seeing the Highlands, riding the Jacobite Express, visiting the Isle of Skye and Inverness and places in between. The weather could have been a little less "Scottish' but we are west coast Canadian and used to liquid sunshine.

The only criticisms we would make are about the many, many, many stairs we had to climb to get to our flat, AC25 I believe, (a little warning may have helped) and the bed, which was not terribly comfortable and on the small side. There is certainly enough room for a king size bed.

Everything else was to a very high standard and we would certainly recommend The Highland Club to our friends. In fact, we already have!

Excellent apartment in a beautiful hotel. Ideally located for day trips around the Highlands. The apartment was well furnished. Definitely recommend this place!

An amazing place to stay. We had a wonderful time at this beautiful location. Could not fault it in any way!

Absolute Outstanding Experience!
After visiting many countries over many years with our children this was at the absoute top range of what we have experienced. The combination of a quite historic environment together with very luxurious space in the appartment and the absolute completeness of the kitchen equipment which was very clean provided for a very relaxed and memorable stay in Fort Augustus.

We have spent 5 days/4 nights in this fantastic place.
When we arrived our children thought to be in a location to visit...not in our "residence"!
The welcome was perfect, the apartment superb: judge, clean, equipped with all the possible forniture...a spettacular view...what else?
The common areas amazing too: the pool, the gigant chessboard, the biliard room, the outside park with all the possible facilities.
Al lthe above just in front of the lake and 5 minutes wolking from the villange and the shops.
It is just too far away form Italy, but we wil lcome back!

We came to this amazing place in the evening. We met like kings at the gate and then they showed us this amazing building and surroundings. It was absolutely magically beautiful at the Loch Ness and then went up to the apartment which was absolutely wonderful. Wow what a place!

Nos encantó, son apartamentos perfectos para una familia en media-larga estancia. El mobiliario es nuevo, cómodo y funcional, están perfectamente equipados, la ubicación excelente, hay tranquilidad porque está rodeado de jardines delante del lago Ness, pero se va andando al pueblo. Las instalaciones que lo completan son otro 10: la sala de juegos, la piscina con sauna, el ping-pong, el ajedrez gigante... Nuestra anfitriona nos enseñó todo rápidamente pero muy bien explicado.
La única pega para personas mayores: no tiene ascensor para los apartamentos superiores.
Sin duda, volveré a alojarme aquí con mi familia.

We came here with our Harry Potter obsessed children and it did not disappoint. Just 40 mins away from the Jacobite (Harry Potter) train, this place felt like a real-life “Hogwarts” right on the edge of Loch Ness. Good facilities and high quality accommodation. Only downside was that a lot of guests ignored the pool sign in sheet, so it got a bit crowded at times; might need a better system. Otherwise everything was perfect and we hope to return soon.

Beautiful apartments, great location (Fort William, Inverness and Glencoe all within an hour or 2 drive away which makes for some great day trips). The Boathouse Restaurant was a great atmosphere with delicious food. Cons: no lifts for the apartments so best to try and get a 1st floor one otherwise it’s quite the walk up, also the pool closes at 7 which is really too early especially if you are out all day. Would be great if they bumped this up until at least 9 so people who are out all day can enjoy a swim or sauna before bed. All in all I would definitely book this location again and recommend it to others.

The Highland Club is a great place near the Loch Ness.
The apartment, the pool, the cloister, the Boat House, so many good reasons to go there again...

We had an absolutely wonderful stay and would recommend the Highland Club to everyone. The apartment was beautiful and the location was perfect. Our stay was truly beyond our expectations and one of the highlights of our vacation in Scotland. Thank you to Julie Brown for the warm welcome and we look forward to our return visit.

The location and the views are to die for. The apartment was also really beautiful, clean and extremely well-equipped. The staff was also really friendly and helpful.

One really minor point - the place was almost empty, but we were nonetheless put in an apartment below another from which there was a bit of noise (children running around). All in all though, we were really pleased.

The Highland Club is a wonderful destination. It’s location is fantastic for a stay at Loch Ness and as a base to explore this vast and beautiful part of Scotland. The local town just a few minutes walk away has a good mix of shops, eateries and pubs to explore and enjoy. The Boathouse restaurant is particularly lovely with great service and food. There is a Loch Ness Cruise company port just nearby which has just launched a brand new ship. The cruise was both a very informative history lesson of the Loch and a relaxing way to take in its beauty.
The property offers wonderful views of Loch Ness from its grounds and rooms, fabulous architecture to enjoy, a warm and hospitable environment thanks to its attentive staff, plenty of activities including a luxurious swimming pool with sauna and steam room, an adventure playground, tennis courts and beautifully appointed apartments to enjoy after a days adventure.
As a family of four with two young children, we found all the rooms very clean, spacious, safe, modern and welcoming with all the luxuries and amenities of home and more. The Highland Club has created a space and destination which is a truly luxurious escape where guests needs and comforts are the priority. I would highly recommend staying here.

Stayed here as a family of four over Easter 2018 and it was just lovely. A great location. A warm welcome and show around the Abbey, a fab welcome pack with lots of goodies. The apartment (No 15) had absolutely everything we needed and more. The apartment was very clean, comfortable and spacious. I would have rated this a 5, but we had a lack of hot water later in the afternoons after our activities and the oven wouldn't work to heat our fresh pastries! It took my husband to download the instructions to his phone and work out that it was in "show room" mode which has limited usage until installed for home use! I would highly recommend staying here (booking was easy too!).

We stayed at the Highland Club in the Fairlie for two nights during our trip through Scotland. There is no describing how unique and beautiful this place is. We traveled with two teens and they were thrilled with the pool, the buildings and the amenities. This stay was a highlight of our trip. The one day we walked into St. Augustus was sunny and beautiful. Not much open early in the spring, but also it wasn't busy. We took a boat tour of Loch Ness, and had a quiet restful few days.
We had good communications with the property, the apartment was well equipped for our family and extremely clean and well appointed. I would highly recommend this for travelers of any age.
