First Class!
I took my Mother, who has severe food allergies, and Carlo and the team could not have been nicer! First class! Thank you, Carlo!

I took my Mother, who has severe food allergies, and Carlo and the team could not have been nicer! First class! Thank you, Carlo!
Excellent food, ambience and service as always at the Ivy restaurants. Whoever is in charge of recruiting seems to have a real gift for hiring intelligent charming staff who are attentive but not obsequious.
Thank you so much!
Stayed in Richmond last weekend for my Birthday and wanted it to be special as recovering from cancer so booked the Ivy as I frequent the Manchester one regularly. Incredibly disappointed and didn’t feel at all special. really poor service and attention to detail. Took almost 30mins for the drinks to arrive.
The food was dreadful and undercooked 😬 will not be returning to the Ivy in Richmond I am however back in the Manchester one tomorrow.
We just popped in to see if we could get a table for 2 for a quick lunch. Terribly rude and condescending Female at the door, who abruptly said that there were no tables available. I asked if we could sit by the bar, she took one look at my teenage daughter and snared down her nose and said we could not sit at the bar. We are frequent diners at our local Chelsea Garden restaurant and are always greeted with upmost warmth by welcoming staff. I was utterly appalled at how my daughter and I were treated today.
Earlier this week we (3 young ladies) booked the Ivy for High Tea. We asked if we could have a small circular table as they allow space for the 3 tier cake stands.
Booking was confirmed for 3pm (Sunday) and we were told that if we were not here by 3.15pm the table would be given away.
We arrived 2.55pm. Table not ready.
3.10pm table still not ready - so told to wait by the bar.
3.30pm eventually we get some bar service.
3.45pm told our table is ready. It’s 2 small tables put together - offering no room for 3 cake stands.
So we asked if we could have the table we booked. After much discussion, they agreed.
4.05pm a table comes free. So we sit at the table.
4.15pm we finally get a waitress to take our order!
By the time we eventually got our drinks (soon followed by food) it was 4.40pm. Meaning we had to wait 1hr 40mins.
We did complain and got our 1 drink from the bar for free (wished I had ordered champers!).
Overall very disappointed as they agreed the table reservation, but struggled to honour it.
Great service and food at The Ivy.
We turned up early and were accommodated without any fuss.
Great service from Jacek and the team. Made us feel very welcome.
Booked as a special birthday treat. Waited ages to be offered a drink and then a further 1 hour 15 minutes before we had a starter. Food was lovely when it arrived but by that point, it had lost the special touch I was hoping for. Will not be returning again. Not worth the £160 bill for two people after that experience. Was compensated with a free coffee! It was meant to be something special. But So disappointing.
I am a complete fan of The Ivy, i am often in my local one in Cobham, which i love and still feel is one of the best.
Basically i have never had a bad experience at an Ivy restaurant until Friday 19th January.
My brother was recently over visiting from Marbella so me and my family went to the The Ivy Richmond Sunday 14th January and had a great all in all experience. I also met old friends On Thursday 18th January in The Ivy St Johns wood and all in all had a great night ( like i said I'm a fan) but when i arrived at The ivy Richmond on Friday, whist parking the car my friend who arrived before me was ushered upstairs to an empty room opposite the toilet, to be seated! The lady on the door said that was the only tables left as downstairs was full up!
Now, to my mind, that should be for the over flow
( the walk in's) not for people who have booked two weeks before. So when i arrived i said we do not want to sit upstairs on our own, and was told to have a drink at the bar, until a two seated table became available. We were at the bar up to 45 minutes and i had to go up to reception and just say you haven't forgotten about us have you? When eventually they found us a table i noticed there was two great empty tables for two opposite the bar, but no they put us in the worse table in the room and i was facing a window at the front right had side of the restaurant, which wouldn't have been so bad if my friend was my lover and all i wanted was to see was her face, but no we were two stylish single women who wanted to go to a lovely restaurant and take in the ambience all around us. I for now will never visit The ivy Richmond again if i can help it, as we we're made to feel unimportant and invisible, even the table service was completely lapsed and not its usual standards.
All good, food and service excellent as usual. Would have been a 5, except the blower in the gents wasn’t working.
Pre-booked a table which wasn’t ready. No problem with that, although was advised to have a drink at the bar. The staff member asked we move to the opposite end of the bar to avoid congestion which we did, no offer of a drink. I was then asked to move 3 times by staff as I was clearly in the way. Moved back to the original space and asked to move repeatedly. Now feeling like obsolete furniture with no sign of a table being ready and three staff members huddled over a computer station resolving nothing, was time to leave. Very disappointing.
Pretty interior / ambiance and professional staff. Burger overcooked, brioche bun hard and rubbery. Chips below average. Garnishes below average. Maybe I chose the wrong thing…. ? Won’t be going back - what a disappointment!
Went for a birthday meal in the Ivy Café in Richmond (9-11 Hill St, Richmond TW9 1SX) tonight (11 October 2020).
They have a door on the side at the back through which they provide a ramp for disabled people to enter or exit the restaurant. They also have a disabled toilet at the back.
However, at our arrival they put 4 of us at a table right in front of the disabled Toilet. It would have been impossible for a disabled person especially in a wheelchair or in a buggy to enter or exit this facility without at least two of us moving and pulling our chairs further away to the side. Imagine, we are in the middle of eating our meal and a disabled person wants to use this facility and worst, when they want to come out.
I objected to this arrangement and asked to be moved.
I also noticed there was a table set for six people, next to us right in front of the back access door. Once again it would have been impossible for a disabled person in a wheel chair or in a buggy to enter or leave the restaurant through this “disabled access door” without at least 3 guest moving away and pulling their chairs to the side.
I find this situation irresponsible and totally unacceptable. I strongly object to thoughtlessness of the mangers and those who operate such an establishment. Their decision is purely based on greed and without care and responsibility. They must be held accountable for such an abhorrent decisions and actions.
I raised my concerns with the duty manager. She agreed with me and said that she will report my concerns to her senior manager. I hope she does and they don’t act in such a irresponsible, abhorrent and unacceptable manner.
I informed her that I will be posting my concerns on social media and will bring such objectionable actions to other customers’ attentions
We had our brunch today in the ivy cafe richmond. The staff were friendly, we disnt have any reservation and we manage to get a table for four, there were so many people today, probably because of the help out eat out scheme. I like the ambience of the dining area, it was classic, lots of detailed designed, even going to the washroom the stairs was like a museum filled with paintings. The washroom was very cleaned and nicely decorated as well. They have a nice monitor and a temperature scanner at the front door. They have nice smelling sanitisers on the table as well. The presentation of the food was very gorgeous and classic, not the normal presentation. For its normal price I would say its pricey, but because their service and food was great for us. we had egg benedict and chips and one butterpancake. looking at it its like i dont want to eat it especially the pancakes. you wouldnt even have to ask for water they served it immediately and it has lemon and cucumber to. Even the table setting was very classy. I did enjoy our last day of the help out eat ou. glad i tried this classy cafe. Its quiet good for dates and fine dine in too.
