Do Not Go Here
I had been going to The Joint Chiropractic for routine treatment for back pain, and unfortunately my experience resulted in what I believe was a preventable injury.
I am 6’8”, so I understand that my height can make certain medical equipment more challenging to use. During one appointment, I was instructed to lie face down on one of their chiropractic drop tables. I trusted that the table and positioning were appropriate for someone my size.
During the adjustment, the chiropractor used the drop mechanism on the upper section of the table while applying significant downward pressure to my upper back/chest area. Because I was not properly aligned on the table, part of my chest remained supported instead of being positioned correctly over the drop section. When the chiropractor applied force and activated the table, I immediately lost all the air from my lungs and gasped in severe, audible pain.
What upset me almost as much as the incident itself was the response afterward. Rather than stopping to fully evaluate what had happened or documenting the event, the chiropractor essentially brushed it off. To my knowledge, no incident report was completed, and there was little concern shown despite my obvious distress.
After the appointment, I experienced chest and rib pain that lasted for months and affected my daily activities. Several nurses I work with at a nursing home believed my symptoms were consistent with a rib sprain, although I understand they were not providing a formal medical diagnosis. Regardless of the exact injury, I know that I was in significant pain for an extended period following this appointment.
I was never offered a refund, compensation, or any meaningful follow-up regarding what occurred.
If you’re a very tall person like I am, I encourage you to be especially cautious with chiropractic drop tables. Make sure you are properly positioned before any adjustment is performed, and don’t hesitate to speak up if the table doesn’t feel like it fits your body correctly. While others may have positive experiences, mine was painful and disappointing, and I hope sharing it helps someone else avoid a similar situation.
Despite speaking with the manager from…
Despite speaking with the manager on 6/16/2026 and her confirming receipt of my cancellation form on 6/15/2026, I was explicitly told that my membership was terminated effective immediately. Yet I was charged again today. This charge must be refunded without delay. If this is not resolved promptly, I will escalate this matter and file a formal dispute with the Maryland Consumer Protection Department.
Very bad policies joint Chiropractic
We went into the joint Chiropractic, which we had seen before I had purchased a six pack of visits that apparently never expire after a car accident….. we came in to get, hopefully some relief before we saw our primary care physician on Friday…. they told us because we were in an accident if we opened up a claim already that we couldn’t be seen even though we were gonna pay for it out-of-pocket I can’t even use my visits. I previously paid for I told them we hadn’t opened a claim yet so could we still be seen? She originally said yes, but they called her boss and told me that I still could be seen even though I might or might not open a claim. This is ridiculous. We were highly upset. We will never be back. I will never be able to get my money back from my visit I previously used I would advise against big-time never coming here ever again to anybody.!!!!!
Waste of time, they are pretenders
Went to the Green Valley location yesterday, wanna-be chiropractor stated my pain was too complex for him to perform any type of therapy. Not sure what they are in business for if they can not really help anyone that has back pain. I recommend going to a real chiropractor that can take x-rays and not turn away customers that have real back issues. The referral that was given was also useless. Hope they go out of business since they should not be in business.

the only reason I give a 1 star is due to DR. Emmanuel he is great.
I have tried a few times to cancel I am in the 2nd month of the 3month cycle. was told to get a doctors note, did that. today 06/29/26 10:30 am the shitty little girl behind the counter needs 2 things 1. slap the shit out of her for her attitude, or fire her. you do not treat customers with a mean hateful attitude, 2. train your 1st contact staff to be nice whether its a upset customer or not, NEVER GIVE A CUSTOMER AN ATTITUDE PERIOD, THEY'LL NEVER COME BACK. DR, Emmanuel is the only good thing about this location. tried contacting their corporate's office to voice my opinion yea , that's not happening. its made to were you not able to submit anything under their contact option. so in short I have a doctors' note clearly stating I cannot be cracked anymore while under his care and all I got was a ton of pissy attitude from a child that hasn't been alive enough to know when STFU.
if you have anything wrong with your back or hips I strongly advise going to a reputable outfit that hires professional staff. this place will take your money and not give a crap. I will be out 75.00 by the time this is all over. if they would have just honored my request I would have come back every time. now due to their greedy rules {to which if there is a medical reason monies should be refunded instead of taking 2 months worth of payments and treating you like shit.} greedy rules mean bad reviews on all platforms. I have family that goes here. that will also soon stop.
1 bad attitude = bad publicity and bad word of mouth.
means loss of customer's. plus she refused to return my DR's note for my records. now idk if she even scanned it in. arrogant uppity young staff with zero compassion or respect.
thieves
thieves - stole my money and asked for copies of my bank statement when I asked for it back
Honest chiropractor crooked management
First visit sold me 3 months worth of visits. Second visit showed chiropractor my MRI. He said that chiropractic won’t help that I need surgery. Also said I would have to speak with management for refund. I have left 3 messages with no response.
Very disappointed!
Very disappointed!!
I received X-ray results indicating issues requiring an MRI. I attended your office with my medical results, and due to my condition there were problems preventing me from safely receiving adjustments. After presenting my results, management indicated a refund would NOT !! be issued for the month,
I paid for a month and I cannot even attend!
I manage a couple dental offices and this is poor management. It doesn’t make me want to return back to this office.
Beware go to a chiropractor facility that can properly maintain you and not suck you into a contract !
I thought I was getting scammed and…
I thought I was getting scammed and wrote a review. But they did the right thing and refunded my money the next day after I went to their office at Southgate. I was pleased with the doctors. Each Dr has their own way of adjusting. Keep a record of everything that is told to you. Be sure to clarify what you need to do if you can't make it to your adjustment.
total fraud
charged me for a subscription i never signed for the place is a money grab gives chiropractors a bad name be careful they are the worst
So I go to the warning Yukon
So I go to the warning Yukon, Oklahoma, don't go here, they say $29. It's not the literally charged me a $179 on top of that, they're gonna take away like $79 every month. And I really did not sign up for that. I just signed up for a one time thing to see how it goes
And so far, I don't like it. I have a couple of back issues that I keep on dressing to them. And they don't seem to take your time to fill that area. I don't know if anybody else has had this experience, but I feel like they just, I want to want you to go in there. So they could pop your back real fast, and so you could get out. I did have a different doctor from the last time and he started. Telling me like some medical things that I might have. I said, no, you know, it's just, this is what's going on and it goes well, you lied on your applicant and I said, no. And the first time I went, and I knew there should have been something wrong they have you do a scale from 1 to 10 on pain the doctor said it doesn't matter. How high your pain is they don't really look at that stuff
Membership Scam Alert
I signed up for a 90-day membership for $79/$69 for veterans. My last visit was some time in April. I called to cancel the membership after noticing several attempts to debit my bank card. Fast forward to May 29th, I go into the 1000 Forestville Road location to "cancel the membership" as per their instructions. I get there and the receptionist is still trying to collect membership fee, talking about she "can't cancel my membership until I pay the balance" No ma'am, you will not make me stay in a membership I'm not even using, or used since April. Smh, damn crooks everywhere you go.
Same experiences all the rest
Same experiences all the rest. They hide the cancellation in the agreement. And you don’t see it until it’s too late. They are not flexible in transferring your credits to a family member or anything. You cannot do anything with the visit that you’ve already paid for, it’s not worth the money.
I wish i can give no star ⭐️I nwoll not…
I wish i can give no star ⭐️I nwoll not recommend this company at all. I uses their $49 treatment pack for my son in carmal mountain location and cancelled after 1 month, They said they can't cancel it need to pay for 3 months. Amd they took from my credit card for 3 months and I did an in person cancellation at carmal mountain location, Bit still they are taking money from my credit card .. It is so frustrating to deal with this company.
Very disappointing experience
Very disappointing experience. I scheduled my appointment in advance, completed all the paperwork, and arrived on time. After waiting nearly 40 minutes, the receptionist, Sami, told me my chiropractor session had to be postponed.
What frustrated me most was being singled out while other patients — including walk-ins who arrived after me — were still being seen. Completely disrespectful of my time and very unprofessional. I will not be returning.
Consistent service, but lacks a personalized touch
I’ve visited 3 or 4 different branches of The Joint Chiropractic so far, and my experience has been remarkably consistent across all of them.
On the positive side, you know exactly what you’re going to get regardless of the location. The facilities are clean, the check-in process is straightforward, and it’s a convenient option for a quick adjustment without needing an appointment.
However, the experience does feel a bit "cookie-cutter." Because the model is built for speed and volume, the care doesn't feel very personalized. It can feel a little like being on an assembly line—efficient, but lacking the deep, individualized attention you might find at a private practice.
Overall, it’s a solid, "not bad" option if you need a routine adjustment on the go, but don't expect a highly tailored wellness plan.
Hello Dr
Hello Dr. Maples,
I received your message, and to be completely honest, my experience at your clinic was unacceptable.
I have been treated by multiple chiropractors over the years, and this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. I came in with severe lower back pain due to sciatica and had already taken pain medication. I was specifically seeking relief—not to leave in worse condition.
I clearly told the provider that I was in pain and asked for careful treatment of my lower back. Despite that, she proceeded to perform drops directly on the area I said was hurting. This showed a complete lack of attention and care. I had to stop the session immediately because the pain became unbearable.
As a result of that visit, my condition worsened, and it took me nearly two weeks to recover. That is completely unacceptable for a healthcare setting.
Because of this experience, I will not be returning under any circumstances. I will also be sharing my experience with others, as people should be aware of the level of care I received.
You may want to seriously review your staff’s approach to patient care, communication, and basic attentiveness to avoid this happening to someone else.
The people the chiropractors that work…
The people the chiropractors that work there do. And the receptionist is always so nice and helpful.
Do not let them auto-deduct from your bank!
Beware when giving them access to auto-deduct from your bank account! I so rarely write a negative review but ... I had to cancel my account (my PT recommended this - nothing at all against The Joint's actual service). The Joint staff sent me the Cancelation Form. Signed and sent back immediately. Then, they went ahead and charged another $79 monthly charge anyway. I assumed this was simply a clerical error (or maybe the payment was initiated before the cancel form was filed), so I called for a refund. I was told "We do not do refunds". So I got to pay $79 for absolutely nothing.
