How would you like to be shipped across the country in a small box with your friends who may or may not die on the way and then to be BOILED ALIVE with your friends.... STOP THE CRUELTY!!!

$58 + $15 insurance just to ship 2 live lobsters?? They're in RI and I'm only over in NY. I'd be paying just as much in shipping as I would for the lobsters. I can't justify that. I've shipped packages to China for half that price. I was about to purchase but after seeing all the negative reviews about their customer service and shipping issues I'm going to sell the gift certificates I was given for this shop. Fortunately, we have a Wegman's location in our town where they get live lobsters shipped from Maine in what sounds like a more timely fashion than "The Lobster Guy" can ship them out. We're going to get our Valentine's meal there.

I have ordered twice great experience both times

I have ordered twice and both times the lobster was delivered on time and still frozen solid. We added a filet and it was delicious and I'm not a steak person. I would recommend if you want something at Christmas time order a month in advance. 5 stars for the quality and delivery.

Great value

Great value, excellent so shipping, and tails labeled 10-12oz were closer to 12oz. Nantucket to table! A+++

3 two pound lobsters

We had steamers and 3 two pound lobsters. They had frozen cold packs and lobsters were still alive after 2 days travel. I would definitely use them again. Our second successful Christmas eve splurge here in New Mexico.

This place doesn't honor shipping dates they promise to deliver before holidays …

Copy an email I got back from the guy when my food didn't arrive by Thanksgiving. He never offered to provide a discount after failing to deliver. Product was 4 days late- that's not a fedex problem. The man seems irritated that I even questioned his shipping time which didn't happen until 4 days after I ordered.

I am not Oswald and I didn't shoot Kennedy and again, we ALL trust Fed Ex to get the job done....
We have over 150 packages that DID NOT LEAVE MEMPHIS last night and they are NOT TELLING anyone why..and yes this SUCKS!, ours along with 15,000 packages including medical items, beef, seafood you name it and it got stuck there....all of that did not move onto their flights... there are no "logistics and contingencies" for a delay of 15,000 packages and I don't have a crystal ball here either....
We are trying to get you your box one way or another to you today, we are ALL victims of the Fed Ex issues today me you and 15, 000 other customers.
Periship is trying to get this done for you as we are also.

Hero of the Year—Thanks to the Lobster Guy!



My relatives lived on Cape Cod for over 50 years before moving to Arizona, so to say they know seafood would be an understatement. Three days ago, I ordered the “Clambake in a Can” for two, which ended up feeding three of them!

For the past two hours, all I’ve heard is how incredible the food was. They couldn’t stop talking about it—everything was fresh, perfectly prepared, and so easy to make.

Thank you, Lobster Guy, for making me hero of the year!

SCAM ALERT! DONT TRUST

Ordered lobster and clams to arrive on our anniversary but never arrived. Called lobster guy and they said it was fedx issue. They showed up the next afternoon and 3 of 6 lobsters were dead and 1/2 the clams were smashed! We were leaving town so has to give to neighbors. 1 other lobster died that afternoon before they could cook. Left several messages for lobster guy but no return call. Absolute BS. So not trust these guys. There are several other legit seafood shippers!

Buyer BEWARE don't get scammed by the Lobster Guy

It was my wife's birthday, and she requested lobster for dinner and we invited another couple to join us. I ordered (4) 12-14 oz frozen lobster tails and right out of the box they didn't appear fresh they had a yellowish hue which was a bit concerning. They smelled okay so we steamed them up and served. They were so SALTY that no one could stomach even one bite they were that BAD!!! I contacted their customer service and was told that would never happen, so essentially calling me a liar. They got me for over $200 with no offers to make this right. This was my first and last order from the Lobster guy. We should have stuck with Maine Lobster Now that company has never disappointed. If you are one of the many disgruntled customers, you should contact the bank which issued your credit card. Tell them you received a product that was not edible and dispute the charge. BUYER BEWARE, do not do business with this company.

The Lobster Guy cares about his customers

After a disappointing experience that led me to leave a negative review,I was contacted by the owner. I am happy to say that he took my concerns seriously and offered to rectify the situation. I appreciate the response and willingness to make things right. Their follow-up has improved my opinion of the owner and company.

An answer to a search

I have trouble getting good live lobsters at a decent price this time of year in Maryland for my daughter's birthday. Lobster guy was an answer to long searching. Great lobsters, great shipping and packing and a reasonable price. Thank you

Partially thawed

I received order today stayed home so I could open it immediately unfortunately order was partially thawed so I called and the girl told me I could refreeze it. I’ll find out when I do make them. If ordering from lobster guy make sure you asked for extra ice packs. I hope all goes well for me. Reorder 4 lobster tails from another company got great service all tails came in frozen solid. Will order from second company from now on.

This company is stating that they are…

This company is stating that they are selling u-15 shrimp Gulf of Mexico USA caught. They are actually 16-20 ct. They are a Mexican product from an unknown location. I have done business with this company in the past. Never again, the owner said that 85 shrimp per 5 lb. block is acceptable. Really! Maybe in Mexico.

ALMOST got everything, but left out a major item

The company did a very nice job on delivering MOST of what we ordered to my father for his 82nd birthday. He said the lobster was very good! Unfortunately they didn't include the cake we had ordered, which was a major disappointment, as that was the only cake we had planned for his birthday. We wrote to the company, and while they refunded us for the cake, we felt that was not adequate. We had hoped they would send something else to my father, even if it was a logo shirt or something advertising them, because he missed out on the cake and the birthday was not as fun as it should have been. They offered to include a slice of cake next time we order, but again, we felt this was inadequate for the situation.

Ordered 4 10-12 oz lobster tails

Ordered 4 10-12 oz lobster tails. Tails arrived on schedule and were firmly frozen. They cooked up well and were very tasty.
That being said I also ordered lobster mac and cheese. Was somewhat disappointed. Nothing special, run of the mill mac and cheese with chewy claw meat in it. Underwhelming.

Want the best seafood

Tim and his staff do a amazing job. We come from RI and are living in Missouri. Every year we order from the lobster guy and are never disappointed. He always sends the top of the line seafood and it always comes on time with everything packed perfectly. If you want fresh seafood order from tim the lobster guy.

If you’re considering ordering from The…

If you’re considering ordering from The Lobster Guy, please read this first. I placed an order with them on Wednesday, October 30th, requesting a delivery by Friday, November 1st, before noon. My father, who has terminal cancer with only weeks left, made a simple request for live Maine lobsters—a family tradition. I researched thoroughly and, unfortunately, believed The Lobster Guy would deliver the best service.

My mother took the day off work to receive the delivery. But at noon on Friday, they updated the delivery date to Monday, November 4th. These are live lobsters, and delaying delivery by 48 hours is unacceptable. I contacted FedEx, who, to my surprise, showed more compassion than The Lobster Guy's customer service. FedEx advised that I pursue a refund through The Lobster Guy, but when I spoke with a representative, she suggested the lobsters might still arrive on Saturday and refused to issue a refund unless I opened the box and confirmed they were dead.

Now, on Saturday, November 2nd, FedEx has informed me there’s no rush delivery on their end, and the package is still scheduled for November 4th. Meanwhile, I can’t reach anyone at The Lobster Guy—unsurprisingly.

The Lobster Guy touts “next-day delivery,” but that claim doesn’t seem to hold true. I paid a premium for a promised service to create a meaningful memory with my father, and they failed to deliver. Save yourself the frustration and take your business elsewhere.

Birthday Celebration #75

My Husband was turning 75 and my family has been in Georgia for 20 years we are all from South Kingston , Rhode Island. Wanted to be special ordered 14 fresh lobsters and 3 of the Steamers. Talked with the Lobster Guy office went over everything with them, they were very helpful and polite. Had them shipped to me overnight to be delivered on Saturday. Product came in perfect, lobsters were still alive and packed with ice bags. Cooked everything on Saturday, lobsters were still alive. Everyone could not rave enough about how awesome the lobsters and the steamers tasted, I would definitely order from the Lobster Guy again a great part of my birthday celebration.
