I am nearly 30 and I can honestly say I have learnt so much! They are very very informative on all things contraception. These are people who told me about side effects the coil can have when breastfeeding that my doctor didn't bother to tell me. Go check them out they are amazing. Following them on Instagram has been the best choice I made

Amazing private GP appointment with an expert in women's health. I felt listened to and that Dr Fran took time to understand me as a whole and how we could treat my issues holistically. I came away with a treatment plan and hopeful for the first time in months.

I've been following The Low Down for a good 3-4 years now and it's been an incredibly helpful tool to guide me about my contraceptive journey and also my female health. I was diagnosed with PCOS and I'm also at the stage in my life where hormonal contraceptive feels less attractive. TLD has been a bank of wisdom and resource. I wish it was around when I was a teenager and I wish doctors would point us here organically as women to make informed decisions right for our bodies.

Dr Fran was a joy to chat to and dispelled any nerves I had straight away. Her knowledge was more than I had imagined and I came away so happy and hopeful.

This website is by women for women and you can tell - it's the service we've needed for..well, ever.

I've used the consultation service three times (they are all GPs) and it's definitely worth the very affordable £37. You'll get an understanding ear, the latest research and a wealth of suggestions. These women know their stuff, and if you can't get your GP to take you seriously/you feel like you're being batted away, this is what you need.

The reviews of contraception are fabulous too, there's almost every conceivable type on here. Paired with apps like Flo and Natural Cycles - websites like these are hopefully changing the landscape of women's health for future generations. Wish they'd existed when I was a teen and in my twenties!

This website is a godsend.

After the birth of my twins and the pandemic, trying to get to the doctors to get contraception was difficult.

Being able to buy my own injection to do at home saves me tons of time and effort!

Keep up the great work. Delivery is quick and easy. Really is no fuss contraception.

The Lowdown is an excellent comprehensive source of information on the full range of birth control options available and I was very impressed with the private appointment - the doctor was easygoing and made me feel comfortable, but very practical and informative. I received a lot of useful resources to look into following the appointment too. This is much better than any other service I found, as I haven’t found any more comprehensive resource online, and advice I received from NHS previously really depended on the luck of the draw depending on who I saw.

I had a really positive experience with my consultation with Dr. Fran. She listened to my concerns, gave me reassurance that some of the things I had experienced were not unusual and helped me understand my options for coming off the pill after 15 years. She was extremely knowledgeable and easy to talk to and I would absolutely recommend this service.

Their seminars are brilliant! The information I have gained about HPV has been way more than I ever got from the hospital and they really are trying to get rid of the stigmas and the taboo about lots of feminine issues!
Honestly cannot recommend enough! The information they provide is empowering and helps us take charge of our contraception rather than just being led blindly into the dark assuming our side effects are just part of being a woman- which they're not - we can ask for change!

Easy to use website, order arrived promptly and discreetly packaged. Brilliant service, would highly recommend and will be using again.

Although contraception being prescribed from my GP is free, I have a nightmare getting my pill. They give me 3 months worth each time and every 3 months I have a nightmare trying to get another prescription because they make you talk to a doctor every time and never have any appointments. I ordered a years worth from thelowdown and it arrive within 2 days and now I don’t have to worry about it for another year. So happy I found this place and the customer service was amazing, very responsive and supportive through WhatsApp. Definitely I new regular place to get contraception from.
