1-Star Review: Misleading Service and Unethical Business Practices

I had a terrible experience with LumiApp Clothing Styler. Their service was completely misleading. Before any service was rendered, I clearly requested a refund — not just from LumiApp, but also via PayPal — and was denied by both.

This kind of behavior is unacceptable. I did everything by the book to cancel in advance, but they still kept my money and refused to acknowledge my request. It feels like a deliberate attempt to take advantage of customers who act in good faith.

I strongly urge others to avoid this app. Don’t make the same mistake I did — LumiApp is not trustworthy and does not stand behind its service or refund policy. Buyer beware!

This company is horrible. Don't waste your money. First, they have a money back guarantee which is complete BS. No one actually qualifies for this. I signed-up and paid but received nothing. I didn't get a curated outfit. The stylist kept sending me the same outfit that I said I didn't like. After an hour of this, I finally just logged off because it was so ridiculous. They say the stylist is a real person but I sincerely doubt that. Getting the same, canned response is not what an actual person does. I contacted customer support and explained the issue to them and they refused to give me a refund saying that my situation didn't qualify. After several back-and forth emails, they offered me a 50% refund and acted like it was some special exception they were making for me. It was insulting. Worst customer service ever.

No shipping and no updates after over a week of placing order. Refused to refund so I can buy elsewhere for my trip. Stay away.

These people helped themselves to $99.00 of my money for absolutely nothing. This is a scam and a ripoff. Their “stylist” was useless and offered no insights. There is no benefit to this service whatsoever. Stay away.

I just signed on for a 1 week trial and was billed for this AND an additional $29.95. When I contacted customer care they informed me it was for style guides which is apparently a mandatory charge no matter what you sign up for. This is not well noted within the sign up process. I immediately cancelled due to the predatory nature of this charge and the customer care response. BUYER BEWARE!

I placed an order from their 'Ready to Ship' section, which claimed same-day shipping, but I still haven’t received a tracking number after six business days. I also paid for priority shipping, making this even more frustrating. Their customer support seems to be entirely automated, and I haven’t been able to reach a human. None of my emails have been answered, and at this point, it feels like I’ve spent over $100 with nothing to show for it. Extremely disappointed.

Update: They now finally responded to tell me that one of the items is delayed and offered a cheap alternative or store credit and that they will not refund the item THEY cannot fulfill in time. This is by far the worst company I have ever had to communicate with.

Do not buy from them I order a set from still haven’t received a tracking number are anything communication suck email them 3 times about my order and still nothing I spent over 260$ including fast shipping I will definitely be reporting them to BBB

Don’t work with this company. I subscribed using ApplePay and it took me back to the app to retake the quiz. I thought it didn’t go through so I took the quiz again and was charged twice. Within minutes I emailed support for help with reversing one of the charges. They refused to help me. This is no way to do business.

First time trying and will never make that mistake again. Wasted my money on a worthless product that the hype about is obviously is a lie! The first thing I noticed right away were the small sizes that are no where near what’s advertised and the odor is obnoxious. Like adding sweat odor to sweat odor and selling it to dumb people like me who believes the hype. Your claims are laughable and I just change the channel now on the commercials bc I am sick of seeing the so called Drs face

Horrible I’m trying to cancel within 24 hours and I don’t meet there requirements. Plus they charge 29.99 a month for their app. I will repo them very unprofessional as far as I’m concerned.

I ordered the black and gold sequin jacket over one month before an event, shipping said it would take seven days. after follow up I found out they did not have any jackets in black They ended up shipping me a random pink and silver jacket that arrived one day after my event, they refused to cancel or refund. DO NOT ORDER They will likely not have your item in stock and they’ll send you something random one month after you order it.

This is a scam company. You won’t receive anything even once you get the app to work. They will refuse to refund. You will not receive goods or services

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. They sent me the wrong face gems AND I was missing pieces from my outfit. Won’t offer refund even though it was their fault… I told them I did not want them to send me the missing piece since my event had already passed… but they went ahead and sent it anyways, so now I have 2 packages I do not want. I had to dispute it with my credit card company and thankfully was given the $$ back. Takes them a week+ to respond unless you threaten to report them to the BBB which I’m about to do. On top of everything, the quality is dollar store at best. I can’t think of 1 good thing about this company. I would avoid at all costs and I’m telling all my friends in the rave scene to also avoid this company. There are much better brands in la to shop from.

i tried to buy from these guys and everything i bought was horribly small china sizing that did not reflect their size chart. i'm usually a size s in us sizes and i kid you not the sizes were still too tiny. the back and forth hassling with their team is beyond me because they do not honor their returns or exchanges well. They will try to skim whatever money they can on top of requiring you to pay for your own shipping to get those returns or exchanges (potentially not guaranteed either). BEWARE. doesn't even stretch and the item kept flaking and the sequins kept falling off. I just gave it away bc wth. huge waste

This company is absolutely awful and a scam. I paid for expedited shipping and only when I threatened to report them to the BBB did they finally email me back. My item still hasn’t shipped I had to filed a dispute with my bank because they scammed me. POS company and the people their running it. DONT make my mistake and place your money into this company you’ll never see your product!

I ordered a 6 piece set to wear for a festival and ordered expedited shipping to make sure it would arrive on time.

When it came in the mail a week before, it was missing items that complete the outfit set. I emailed them immediately in hopes of getting these items to wear on time, and they still have not responded (it’s been 4 business days so far, but from reading other reviews I suspect it will take even longer to hear from them).

For how expensive the outfits are, I was expecting better service from LUMI shop, or better quality items. The outfit I received was made of thin and cheap material, and ran incredibly small. After I read their exchange/return policy which is also pretty crappy, I realized I likely wouldn’t be refunded or that it would ultimately cost more for my refund or exchange than it would to just ask for them to send the missing items. At this point, I can only hope that they will send me the items I paid for, or I will have to dispute the charge with my banking system.

I would not recommend this brand to anyone.

They take weeks to ship your order. I won’t have my festival outfits on time. They keep extending the date they will ship them each week, and lie about when they will receive them and how long it will take to ship. They even wanted me to change my address to get them shipped to Las Vegas when I live in Texas. Total scam website. I do not recommend.

The advertisements are misleading, the “stylist” session looks like randomly generated outfits out of a magazine, the outfits provided do not fit the survey I submitted or results I was seeking.

I spent money to only be able to message with someone via chat. I thought it was going to be a 1:1 stylist video call so they could physically see me and understand my style as an individual. I spent money for no reason at all and got nothing out of it.

It was a complete waste of time and money. 0 stars.
