Consumers Beware

Gave my iMac in for repairs around Christmas last year. I was advised by joe that the logic board needed repairs and that they have ordered the part accordingly. After about a month, I asked for an update. Joe advised that they were still waiting on the part and it was in transit. I asked if they had a tracking number for the delivery and he said No. this is where I got concerned. After another two weeks, I called up and was advised by Joe that the smc chip ordered was wrong. Nearly two months later he then turned around and told me to pick up my computer that they were no longer interested in fixing it???
I did not accept this, raised concerns about if possibly parts were taken from my computer and used on others. How was I to know??? At the start joe advised me that if the computer wasn’t repairable I would be informed accordingly. Now still after 3 months they have not resolved my issue. These guys promise the world and don’t even give you an atlas! I’m now taking this issue up with consumer affairs and if not resolved will end up taking this matter to vcat! Beware people, these guys in my experience are shifty, not ethical nor professional. Think twice maybe three times before dealing with these guys!!!!!!

We are sorry if you were unhappy with your experience. We are known for our exceptional customer service and we regret that we didn’t live up to those expectations here.

We normally charge a diagnostics fee, prior to providing a full quote for the repairs, which you refused to pay before we started working on your non-working iMac.

Despite the incorrect information you provided us (2009 iMac, instead of 2014 iMac), we managed to narrow down the issue to the SMC chip, which is very uncommon to source for the 2014 models. Had we known the correct model in the first instance, we would have already advised you of the complexity of the repair.

We custom ordered the replacement parts and the shipping took longer than expected, due to covid-19 related shipping delays. We have updated you about the shipping and the alternative solution of borrowing a chip from another board.
Further along the repairs, our technician advised that the damage is far more than anticipated, and that logic board replacement is advised, over a repair.

We proposed to you a replacement device, or a return of your device as-is, waiving the diagnostics fee. You refused both solutions, and asked that we replace your non-working device with a working one, without paying anything.

During our last phone call to you, during which we updated you, our staff member had to endure verbal abuse, and racist comments, which we do not tolerate.
This is why we refused to service you further, and asked that you collect your device.

We are professional Mac repairers, working in the industry for more than 15 years, and swapping parts from customer devices is something we never do. We also advised that you have a third party inspect and check for replaced parts in your device, which would alleviate your concerns of parts being taken.

We truly apologise on your bad experience with us and we will strive to do better in the future. All the best!

Super fast, amazing service and great price!

I found these guys through an ad on Gumtree, so I was a little nervous to start. My mid 2012 MacBook Pro Retina needed a new battery and a bigger SSD. Joe was fantastic — answered all my questions on email and we spoke a couple of times. The repair / upgrade was done super fast and the price was great! I highly recommend Joe and The Mac Parts to anyone needing their Mac fixed. I'm very pleased to find them!
