This is beginning to be a regular subscription for me
Always new and old variety, I'd like to see some kind of old school metal or old 60s rock, but I'm happy with everything

Really impressed with the customer service. It arrived as a Christmas gift and I was really pleased with the quality. One of the three was not my cup of tea but that's pretty good I think and I can now swap the other one anyway.
Communications have been ace and they are further refining the choices for the next delivery, they have been super helpful

First selection arrived as a Christmas gift to be shared between my daughter and I as we have enjoyed all things MCU together. Have very much enjoyed the variety of comic sent and look forward to the next installments!

The latest box has not been received yet.

Pros:
The concept is lovely and the delivery is quite fast, with a robust package. Records are either new or in great condition. The communication is excellent, with a nice personal touch from the founder.

Cons:
The music. Which is all the point.

I received albums that seemed to be someone’s unwanted that they’d been struggling to get rid of. The music was completely unaligned with my tastes, despite sharing beforehand extensive information about what I like.

For example, I was astonished to receive "Tales From The Crypt" by Glompus Van De Hloed, a British stand-up comedy from the '80s. No music at all, 45min of speeches with cultural references hard to understand for anyone not born in the '70s and/or in the UK.

Not to diss the artist, but it seems an item from the bottom of the bargain bin.

Also, I understand the rightful service fee and the shipment costs, but after checking on Discogs, the combined value of all the items was not even half of the money I paid for the subscription.

Overall, not a great way to expand my collection. I really wanted to love this service, but until things massively improve on the music recommendation front, I regret to suggest avoiding it.

I was gifted a 3-minth subscription for my birthday and received a great selection of 3 different records which I'm happy with. I have now adjusted my tastes to receive a slightly different selection and really looking forward to it! A great gift for any vinyl collector.

Well packaged and the vinyl was in excellent condition.

As for the selections, they are fabulous. The music aligned with my tastes, but is from artists I'd either not heard of before, or wouldn't have selected previously. But that is part of the joy, I'm getting to discover some excellent new music from people who know their stuff.

Dead impressed so far!

First order they sent me the wrong format of goods (records instead of cassettes) which upon opening I would have been very disappointed with anyway in terms of the value of the individual records.

They did provide a return label but wouldn't send out correct product until they had received the return. Various promises made that they would send out the box and with extra items but those have not yet materialised. Since I've left this original review they have now actioned my refund and apologised for making me feel like after I was cancelling they were no longer interested in communicating. I can understand it was Xmas and they were understandably busy.

I've changed my original review from 1 to 2 stars due to the apology and refund. Still not been a good experience and wouldn't recommend. Will update review again should the promised cassette box ever arrive.

Update 19.01.22- cassette box did finally arrive. No extra items but it's essentially a free box so I can't complain too much. I'm happy with 1 out of 3 cassettes. The value of items is still too low in my opinion compared to the item price and it's not like they went to any expense with the packaging. One of the cassettes although it plays okay is very tatty visually and probably only just a good by Goldmine Standard. It's a shame there was no hip hop but I understand they tend to have a higher value. I've amended my rating to 3 stars simply because they did eventually deliver on their promises even if it did take a negative review to action it. I still would not recommend to a friend.

Nice vinyl condition and sleeves maybe one not worth what expected but on the whole a great subscription.looking forward to building a collection based on random genre choices.

It's my frist month. I am very excited, becuase when I was a child in Brazil I dind't have money to buy comics. It's my firs time!!!!

Really happy with the vinyl I received, was such a nice surprise and excellent value for money. Highly recommend!

Easy to set up and the first box arrived quickly after the order. The choice of genres to select was good and was reflected in the first records received. Looking forward to the future ones arriving now.

Already got 2 boxes... I'm on the very beginning of getting my vinyl collection. And it's a great way of discovering new bands that I'll miss buying LPs by my hands. Overall great selections which always are a great surprise.

Bit disappointed to be honest. Three albums that added up separately would cost much less than the monthly fee (I have checked on discord). Was really looking forward to this from other reviews but the music sent out is not great.

Another great package from the Retro Store... been subscribed for 4 months now and each package has been spot on... i have tended to change my tastes in each month, but this has still resulted in some great packages... discovered a number of new artists, and quality is great... several brand new albums (inc. coloured vinyls) and some good vintage LP's... don't be worried if some of the vintage records look a liitle poor on arrival, I've found another good clean makes all the difference! Some of these LP's are kicking on 50 years old!

I really didn't know what to expect but was really VERY pleasantly surprised.
I had not heard of any of the 3 artists that were picked for me, but I thoroughly enjoyed every record
Record 1 was Middle England by Mellah - a babybird fighting the Divine comedy in a back alley with Pete Doherty weighing in with occasional kicks
Record 2 was princess of US by Princess of US a breezy slice of Cali soul - pop with elements of Hain and the Jets boogying down with Mark Ronson
Record 3 was Minus Tide by Lemonade - a Yeasayer meets a man called Adam mashup in a warehouse with electronic and everything everything
I can't wait for next month's box ...

Issue with first order. Not responding to emails. No response to cancellation request. Cancelled through the website. Reactivation email received this morning when I haven't reactivated the subs. Order currently processing. Absolute shambles. Will be looking to cancel via bank account as these guys don't respond. Really annoyed and could do without wasting my time trying to sort out incompetence of others when I shouldn't have to.

UPDATE 02/10/21

Refund received and request for cancellation appears to have been acknowledged. Gesture of free box of records never received. Poor experience all round.

I have only had 2 months of vinyl and all of them are fantastic 100% happy
