I couldn’t be happier with the service provided by The Solar People. From the very first consultation, it was clear that they prioritize integrity over a quick sale.

What stood out most was their transparency. They provided a realistic breakdown of the projected savings and didn't try to oversell a system larger than what we actually needed. The communication throughout the planning and installation phases was excellent—I was never left wondering what the next step was.

On the day of the install, the crew was fantastic. They were polite, efficient, and clearly took pride in their workmanship; the cabling is incredibly neat, which was a big concern of mine. The system was up and running perfectly by the afternoon, and they even stayed to ensure I was comfortable using the monitoring app.

Everything about the process was seamless from my first enquiry to the completed job. Andrew knows every aspect of the work. The workmen were tidy, efficient and polite. The job was completed in less than a day, and that was with panels on 3 different sides of the roof

This is a very trustworthy company. The gentleman that I spoke to, understood everything to do with the panels ( he did not try to insist that I bought a battery for the installation) to register the panels & they arrived before the date, to assess the installation, they have sent the documents over to me before I had made their payment to them.

Andy and the team at The Solar People have been absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Andy is one of the most knowledgeable people in the industry – he took the time to guide us towards the right installation for our needs and answered every question straight away, both before and after the work was done. He's genuinely trustworthy with a real can-do attitude, which made the whole process feel easy and stress-free.

In August 2025 we provided a service as a subcontractor to this company in good faith and in line with the agreed scope of works. Despite this, they have refused to pay the outstanding invoice.

Attempts to resolve the matter amicably have been unsuccessful and in the process we have been called unprofessional. After many ignored emails and phone calls we was advised in a very rude manner that they will not pay our invoice for the service we provided as they haven't been paid. We always aim to act professionally and deliver service as agreed so it is disappointing to experience this level of conduct. Based on our experience we would advise other subcontractors to ensure payment terms are clearly agreed in advance and documented.

After speaking with Andrew I agreed to progress with installing my solar system,everything has gone smoothly from installation to back up assistance. Scaffolding and installation were prompt and on time everything was clean and tidy, both roofers, electrician and scaffolders were very efficient and respectful of my property. I would recommend us this company for further installations.

Started procedure at beginning October, all complete by the end of October. All queries were answered and with satisfactory explanations. During the whole experience there was no pressure thus removing any stress (treat others as you would want to be treated). Installation was very quick even in the pouring rain. The professionalism shown by installation staff is a credit to The Solar People. Finally, despite this being a serious undertaking a sense of humour was always present. Enjoyed doing business with The Solar People.

Excellent install of 20kWh battery system. The Solar People are based in South Yorkshire, but they were happy to travel down to the South Coast. We chose them since they are Platinum Installers for Enphase and they lived up to their reputation.

What a great company to do business with. Andrew responded to every question immediately, both before the installation and afterwards.
The (two man) team who did the installation were very clean, tidy and proficient - and, when they saw a slightly better place to put the batteries, happily moved all the stuff that was in the way and placed it neatly in the vacant space. System has worked perfectly. A great investment.

I really wish we had found The Solar People earlier and used them for our whole installation.

We had Enphase solar, battery and EV charger installed by another company (NOT The Solar People) and the installation was fraught with problems from start to finish. When issues were resolved, we paid the balance and waited for the post-installation paperwork. But, despite several phone calls, e-mails and messages to the directors, we received no paid-in-full invoice, no MCS certificate, no DNO commissioning notification document, no building control notification, no electrical installation certificate and no HIES insurance-backed warranty (all of these were promised in the contract). It then became apparent that the company had ceased trading two weeks after we paid. Another five weeks later, the installers officially went into liquidation.

Without MCS and DNO documents, it was not possible to get paid for electricity we were exporting to the grid. Over a period of two months, we contacted MCS, HIES, Northern Powergrid (the DNO), our energy supplier, Citizens Advice and the liquidators for help and advice about how to get all the paperwork we needed. None were able to resolve the situation, though the DNO were as helpful as they could be. The whole experience has been very stressful, time-consuming and worrying.

We managed to make contact with one of the (now defunct installer's) former installations managers and, for a small fee, he was able to obtain an MCS certificate, building control notification and electrical installation certificate, but he failed to get adequate commissioning documents to the DNO (Northern Powergrid), who eventually advised us that we would need to seek help from another installer....

This was when I contacted The Solar People, seeing that they were experienced at installing Enphase systems like ours. The Solar People's director, Andy, called me back and I explained what had happened. He asked a number of questions and asked me to send various documents. It was apparent that he had plenty of experience with installing different types of solar system, he fully understood our Enphase system (with microinverters and AC-coupled battery) as well as the MCS and DNO processes. He was great to talk to.

The following day, Andy (from The Solar People) was able to submit commissioning documents to the DNO on our behalf and, one week later, the DNO confirmed that they had accepted Andy's document.

So, thanks to The Solar People, we are almost completely sorted out now. We are just waiting on our electricity supplier. I would not hesitate to recommend Andy and his company in future, especially to people looking for Enphase systems.

Sigenergy Battery Installation to existing solar array by The Solar People

I recently had a Sigenergy SigenStor 10 battery installed by The Solar People to complement my existing solar array, and I couldn’t be happier with the whole experience. From start to finish, everything was handled in a friendly, professional, and efficient way.

Andy was fantastic throughout the quotation process and beyond — always quick to respond, clear with explanations, and happy to answer every question I had. The site survey set great expectations for the cabling routes and helped ensure everything went smoothly on installation day.

Mark, who carried out the installation, was brilliant — knowledgeable, friendly, and meticulous in his work (even if he did politely refuse a bacon butty!). The installation itself was low impact and fuss-free, and the system was up and running without any disruption. Mark also took the time to walk me through how everything worked, including the app, which made it all very straightforward.

Since installation, I’ve already seen a significant reduction in grid usage on sunny days, and I’m looking forward to seeing the full benefit once I switch to a tariff that allows off-peak charging.

Andy also made sure I had all the relevant documentation promptly after installation, rounding off what has been a genuinely first-class experience.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Solar People to anyone considering a battery or solar installation — they combine professionalism with a personal touch, and the results speak for themselves.

In this day and age its rare to deal with genuine customer focused companies, so it was nice to be able to find a company that offered a fair quote and included all the relevant information and guidance. Very hassle free and helpful. I couldn't recommend them highly enough.

Andy Duffin listened to my questions and his wealth of experience and knowledge guided me through the whole process and didn't seem to mind at all that mine was just a small Solar system on a modest terraced house in deepest Lincolnshire.

From first enquiry to installation service was first class. Quote was clear and transparent, with all the information on Enphase equipment, batteries, roof mountings, insurance etc. Follow up call on getting exact system to fit your house very helpful, only had to send a few pictures.Installation day given within 3 weeks, installers arrived promptly and did a fantastic job and was up and running and powering the house by mid afternoon-fab. After installation, follow up paperwork all put in place within 24 hours from Andy. Would recommend Solar people if you are looking for Enphase system.

An excellent company from start to finish. Andy was quick to respond and clear with our quote, but was not pushing to sell. Communicated well by emailing following this and matched another quote we received. Also kindly (when other companies wouldn't) worked with us when we wanted to use the scaffolding to also have our fascias redone, very accommodating. Survey was done within the week and installation only 10 days after that. Jayson and Tom were brilliant on the day, friendly and efficient, 9 panels up and battery installed by 3pm. Clear follow up support and advice from Andy who is very willing to help, which was needed after Octopus created a problem changing our meter tails. Tom the electrician was out within a couple of days to resolve the issue that wasn't even part of the job. Would recommend The Solar People to everyone.

I contacted thesolarpeople regarding my installation of solar panels batteries using Enphase IQ7+ inverters fitted with another installer.
They have not been working properly for two and a half years. I have rang emailed to explain the problems I’ve been having with the system which they installed. They always got back to me with some excuses such as the weather was too hot or dust in the air may have been causing the problem. I was not happy with this explanation. I asked for a technician to check the system. It was refused.
In desperation I emailed thesolarpeople who are recommended Enphase installers asking if they could help. Had a call from Andrew the next day asking me to explain the problems I’ve been having with the system. It was so easy explaining the problems to Andrew with his experience he knows how the system should work.
The next day after one phone call my system was working at full power. The gate way had steady green lights not red or flashing and the three panels that have never worked are producing up to 4KW extra a day.
Really glad I contacted Andrew who has been so helpful and knowledgeable only wished I had found his company first.

After a lot of research and several quotes we decided to go with The Solar People for our installation, and are very pleased we did so. Andy is a fount of knowledge, very responsive but never pushy. We particularly valued the fact that they did a full on-site survey rather than relying on aerial photos, and also liked their in-depth relationship with EnPhase.

The installation was carried out professionally and courteously, and there were no gripes when we had to delay a couple of times thanks to needing to re-tile the roof unexpectedly!

Our array of 16 panels and two batteries is working flawlessly, and with our export MPAN recently issued we should soon be getting paid for supplying the grid (shame about the 1MWh we’ve given them for free up to now!).
