Scammed by one of the writer
I have been contacted on Instagram by a writer (DK) saying that he was currently working for an article for The Source and he would love to do that for an independent artist. He told me that the price for an online slot to get published was 100 dollars. I asked if it only was 100 dollars to have the article on the website, he said yes. I accepted his offer thinking that for this price, a nice article on a magazine like this could be a good move for an independent artist. I paid through Paypal and then I sent all the information requested for the article. I received a preview some days later to check if the information were ok and after making some changes he sent me the final version.
Just after that, I received another message from him saying that I had to pay 150 dollars extra for publishing. I asked to explain because he only talked me about the 100 dollars since the beginning, he never mentioned additional fees to get published. I was surprised about the lack of information, especially from someone that I don't know and that contact me via DM to offer a service. When you offer something and you give the price, you cannot hide extra fees. The writer admitted that was his fault trying to still get money for publishing, but at the end of the story, I lost 100 dollars.
I don't recommend this magazine at all.
