The Village Tea Room Avis 

We had an amazing cream tea at this quaint tea shop. The owner was brilliant professional but friendly and the whole experience was just brilliant. It was raining it was cold and damp but an hour in here is more than enough to brighten any one’s day up so thank you for an amazing time. We appreciate your assistance with the choice of tea etc. we will be back you were that good. Freshly baked produce that is fresh and tasty and good strong cups of tea.

Been here multiple times for food and it's the best around.

We visted this place 4 months ago and wasnt impressed due to good being overcooked , but thinking along lines the cook had bad day decided to retry, food was absolutely appalling, sent it back as was not edible, good looked nothing like their pictures describe, the waitress said the cheese & mushroom omlette was recooked, it wasnt or certainly didnt look/taste like it, overcooked, stringy , dried out so badly it was flat as a pancaje with no texture i wouldnt even give to our dog if im honest it was that bad. .having said that the waitresses where lovely and friendly. Use to be a lovely place to breakfast, as has been said but its really gone downhill at an alarming rate . Dont waste your money.

The staff are so lovely,but it's very sad to experience the decline in quality of food for I'd say last 8 mths or so,today chilli had no meat In it and usual uncooked baguette,last month dodgy dish calling itself a lasagne,again no meat in it,getting to a point you think really hard 'what will be safe to order' that will be ok,please take note as your staff are superb x

Booked afternoon tea in the private booth for a small baby shower gathering for our Mum to be who was coming from Norfolk. We booked for 1.30pm.

When we arrived there was a sign on the door saying they were closing early at 2.30pm as another group had hired the entire venue for a Baby Shower/Gender Reveal. No one had called to let us know this.

When we asked what was going on the lady said 'yeah sorry someone should have called you but you'll only have an hour then you'll have to leave'.

In the end after a fuss and speaking to the manager, we were 'allowed' to stay for 2hrs.

No discount offered as an apology, in fact, they didn't take off our £50 deposit from the bill, we had to remind them. It set a disappointing tone for the start of our celebrations.

We happened to know someone from the other party who has booked the venue for exclusive use and its transpires our booking was made before theirs! Clearly they saw a better opportunity and no longer cared about our booking.

Having read other reviews this is not the first time this has happened.

Having said that, food and drink were all lovely (apart from the chocolate cake which was hard). A lady kindly took a picture of us all and gave us boxes to take left over cakes home.

The booth itself was very pretty, with beautiful pink flowers from the wall the ceiling. It's a separate intimate space which was ideal for our event.

Would I book an event here in the future? Sadly no.

Would I pop in for a quick bite to eat, maybe in the future.

Me and my late husband visted here late last year fabulous.

Lovely place, polite and friendly, popped in when in the area and was miles from home, would love to live nearer so could go back.

The best cream tea in tintagel we stopped off for hot scones cornish butter strawberry jam and the best coffee and clotted cream served in a lovely out door setting in the shade well done you made our trip special perfect village and day out highly reccomend.
