I migrated some years ago from prestashop to thirtybees and never looked back. Great support and great community.

We've been on board since its inception, and this e-commerce is - at least in our eyes - pretty much flawless. Never, ever have we had trouble updating our store under the TB-crew. Experiencing PS in the past, this should almost be impossible!

Originally, we came from PS 1.4, and doing updates when it was PS was a real pia. This changed drastically when TB showed up. As others mention. It just works.

The online business that offers you all the solutions you need to support the growth of your online store.
Integration of different languages, taxes, currencies, and so on, but above all, all without any knowledge and just by clicking on a few menus.
This solution is a true professional e-commerce solution, yet it's open source and free in its basic functionalities, which already cover 90% of a merchant's needs.
It doesn't limit you, since it can take advantage of a set of additional bricks to add business functionalities or customize its operation in the form of modules that can be installed by loading a simple archive.
You won't be alone, as there's a large and friendly community to help you get started.

It is not perfect, but my shop runs flawlessly for free :)
All updates without any problem - that’s the only software I’ve used without worrying about updates/upgrades :)
Also the support is superb.

This is an excellent solution for ecommerce, with lots of features that other systems charge extra for. Right out of the box you've got a fully functional website with almost everything any modern online shop needs. The community is helpful and support is quick to respond with any problems that -might- arise, though in our case its been mostly trouble-free.

Works very well, but requires some technology aptitude aside from click-and-drag and pay the bills. Every year I try and validate a switch to Shopify of BigCommerce, but the cost savings with all the options that TB presents wins out each time.

In thirty bees we trust. We are day zero merchants and love the software. The community around Chiel and Petr is great!

A highly comprehensive system—its open-source nature is fantastic. The optional paid subscription is reasonably priced and offers a wealth of valuable tools that significantly simplify life as an entrepreneur.

Migrated from prestashop 2 years ago. Really a great piece of software. My site is fast, bugs are being fixed and the community is great. Couldn’t ask for more!

I've been onboard with thirty bees since the start and the project is growing with each day.

If you're after free ecommerce platform that has almost all bits and pieces included in it this is the place to stop searching.

The project is regularly updated, bugfixes are implemented timely and we can always help each other in the forum.

I love the project/software and use it for e-commerce shops, it works perfectly and the support is great (if you need it) and is free in the forum but also available directly for a reasonable price.

Support thirtybees because it is an absolutely great shop system where you only have to administer a few things yourself.
I don't want Shopify or something similar for $50+ per month!

For information or to give an hint for the other ratings:
1. you can use it with php 8.x but you have to use latest version and check your modules if you use any 3rd party.... and the problem is NOT thirtybees then.
2. it is FREE, if you are said to pay 174 bucks then you are not at the official site or you have found and friendly hoster who will do the install for you - and for 174.00 :) take care when you are online, open you eyes and RTFM !

I tried a few similar bits of software in 2018 or so.

(Wordpress / Woocommerce at the time charged extra for a checkout form, which seemed such a bad start that I gave-up.)

(Drupal Commerce at the time was bright with Vimeo videos but if you transcribed them and followed each step, you'd find something that didn't work by default or was unfinished or confusing.)

(Magento at the time needed a bigger server than Prestashop.)

(Prestashop at the time kept changing and charging for things that had been free, and the company left loads of bugs un-fixed while it had plenty of sales people on the payroll.)

Then I found Thirtybees on the Softaculous / Fantastico one click installers that has free stripe or paypal integration among others, and loads of helpful tekkie people on the forum. This is lucky because there is next to nobody on the payroll but the firm's sponsor does pay keep to the software up to date and release free modules and there's even a new version coming-out soon as I write. You can search the forum to see how few paid-for modules a lot of people use, and there is a free hack (under tips and tricks on the forum) or a module to make the checkout pages shorter than Prestashop's checkout.

Looking at the one bad review - I think it's a misunderstanding. You don't have to host on the recommended server or buy any modules to make this work. Here is a guide to minimum or testing costs.

£10 or £20 a year upwards for a shared server.
You do need a paid-for server; it's too big a program for the free web hosts that need something like Litecart instead. Plus the cost of a domain (penguin-uk.com are cheap) from a different company so you can move when you want. Not many cheap server deals offer a secure server certificate but some do and there are DIY options. Thirtybees forum suggests a few hosts that work.

There are no cheap or free modules to synchronise stock with Ebay or Amazon (only Google and Facebook with a free module on github called google shopping flux and some others if you check their sites and look for Prestashop 1.6). I mention Ebay and Amazon because I don't think there are many sales to be had from being number ten or twenty in the google charts nowadays; google puts too much of its own stuff round the results for anyone to want to scroll-down that far. A good reason to keep costs down.

Most modules for Prestashop 1.6.1 work on Thirtybees so if you're looking for something like a way of getting order addresses onto Parcel2go or a free module for a falling snowflake effect you are in luck.

If you don't like hacking the default theme templates around, you might buy a theme with editing aids and instructions built-in that has some nice suggestions ready. Ask on the forum for suggestions.

So if you want to test this software you need
£10-£20 a year for a cheap shared server, preferably with SSL, and it's good to use a different firm for the domain so nobody can stop you moving.
£100+ if you want to synchronise stock levels with ebay and maybe something similar for Amazon
£70+ if you want a theme with theme editing modules and suggested layouts included, rather than learning how to change the defaults.
£70-120 if you want some kind of customisation like charging by the letter for engraving or having part of your product stock-controlled, like the belt buckle, and another part not, like the belt strap in different lengths.

All the other reviews are five star and I agree.

Great free webshop.
It's really configurable, but the out of the box stuff gives you pretty much everything you need!

TB is FREE, dont let guy under me fool you, he is just unable to read it seems.. As someone said TB is best alternative to prestashop with HUGE potencial.

I tried to start a thirty bees store, because all their ads said it was free. When I clicked "Get Started", I was taken to a pricing page that charged over $174! I immediately backed out of that page and never went back. False advertising! Everybody else tells what their products and services cost, upfront. I expect the same of them!

Best alternative to prestashop.. and I will not shy away from saying that, TB could overtake PS down the road. TB is faster and more efficient.

The best webshop software you can imagine

I am a current using of the aging Zencart system and was getting tired of constantly forking out money every upgrade.. I came across Thirty Bees quite by accident..At first it seemed to tick all the boxes but found out later it did have a few draw backs to modules.. But I have over come these with buying additional modules and a few free ones that helped along the way
But the best thing I found was the ease of use and installing new modules (As with Zencart it would cost me money to install). They have now also introduced a quick and easy way to upgrade to the latest versions with a easy few button pushes (again Zencart cost a load of money each upgrade)..Compared to Zencart I have had to only do 3 modifications to my front end files which is really great as there are loads of places you can place your required items or images etc..
I opted to buy another template for 1 of my sites and pages now look and feel like they belong in the new age. With many options available and control..
