I spent about 12 years in the online marketing and Yellow Pages industry and was working for Vivial before Thryv acquired the company. During my time in the industry, I consistently performed as one of the top reps nationally and managed one of the largest books of business. I had long-standing relationships with many clients who trusted my recommendations.
When Thryv acquired Vivial, we were strongly encouraged to transition our clients to Thryv’s software platform. The compensation incentives were significant, which initially created excitement and momentum. However, once the product was implemented with clients, the experience quickly deteriorated.
The software frequently did not perform as advertised, implementation was consistently problematic, and support challenges made it extremely difficult to deliver positive outcomes for small and medium-sized businesses. Many clients became frustrated due to poor onboarding experiences, unmet expectations, and lack of follow-through. Over time, it became increasingly difficult to confidently recommend the platform because the client experience simply did not match what was promised.
As someone who built a career on trust and long-term relationships, this was extremely disappointing. Many clients invested time, money, and energy expecting improved marketing performance and operational efficiency, but instead encountered ongoing issues that negatively impacted their businesses.
In addition, organizational changes following the acquisition significantly disrupted established teams and client relationships. Many experienced professionals left the company as confidence in leadership and product direction declined.
I also experienced legal pressure related to alleged client conflicts despite having no involvement with the company they referenced. While I was ultimately able to resolve the matter, I am aware of former colleagues who faced similar situations and incurred unnecessary legal expenses.
Based on my experience, I would strongly caution small and medium-sized businesses to carefully evaluate alternative providers before committing to Thryv’s platform. There are many reputable marketing and CRM solutions available that deliver better reliability, stronger onboarding, and more consistent results.
While I appreciate the experience gained during my time in the industry, I would not choose to work with or recommend Thryv moving forward. Gary Hall is an absolute low life. Have to say I would love to see Thryv turn it around but very curious to see how they can keep best intrest of clients before share holders

Spent numerous hours trying to get this resolved and its pointless, without BBB and others to help moderate, Customer service is non-existent! Beware! Useless! How can this company keep going with hundreds of the same complaints.

My experience has been a nightmare from start to finish. Canceling the subscription was incredibly difficult, and despite multiple attempts, charges continued. I lost both money and business as a result of working with them. Customer support was unhelpful and unresponsive when it mattered most. I deeply regret signing up and would not recommend Thryv to any business owner.

I never signed up for The Real Yellow Pages. My billing person got scammed into thinking this was a legitimate Yellow Pages ad.
The Real Yellow Pages has essentially no circulation which makes it worthless.

Make sure you know what you’re signing up for here. They have 6 month contracts and want to charge you every month and it’s hard to cancel! Read the fine print. I’m not convinced the money spent was worth anything since it didn’t seem to bring results!

I am extremely disappointed with Thryv. I was never informed of any six-month contract, and I never signed or agreed to any paperwork. At no point was this mentioned during the signup. I only intended to try the service for a few months, but when I tried to cancel, I was told I still had to pay $608 a month until July. I never authorized this "contract". Customer service was a nightmare, every single time I called, they said, 'We’ll call you back, we’ll fix it,' but they never did. I’ve never did. When I contact them, all they say is, 'I apologize, I apologize,' but no action is ever taken. The system is broken, I can’t process invoices properly, and I can’t charge deposits as needed. I’ve essentially thrown away $608 a month for a service I can’t even use. If you’re considering Thryv, please be extremely careful, ask about all terms, because I was never informed, and now I’m stuck with this unexpected financial burden.

Lacklustre Customer Service from this now American owned Company after "taking over" our Yellow Pages listing presumably sometime around October last year. Since then we have had sporadic emails with no real solid information provided despite promising it. Promised information both via verbal on the telephone and in writing via email. Currently we have a listing online with the wrong telephone number and two awful reviews which are related to the Doctors practice next door - not us!! Hopeless. Do not recommend.

Thryv never offered me any service, locked in contracts and kept debiting me randomly, 2times a month.. saying they will keep doing that for six months.

Take my advice, if they come knocking at your door, run!

Thryv is not a good company
This is sad. I wish I would have read all reviews before getting sucked into spending thousands to be worse off than I was after 3 months with Thryv. They totally changed my description of business profile and google dropped me down due to this new info. Which was not correct. After trying to work with 4 different Thryv agents, I felt rushed each conversation, Not 1 person could understand how to market my business. I am so disappointed. I verbally thru text, phone and email have tried to cancel with no success. I was smart to put a stop with my bank for the monthly withdrawals. I am still being hassled by them for payment after 2 months

The customer services is great, I work a lot with Camille and Ladonna for Ads they are amazing. I noticed an onboarding walk through with the system, marketing suite, and reputation management made my experience way better because that dashboard is how you can contact support at any time, see your reports, and check your data etc. The original person who onboarded me never did that walk through part at first but after I reached out, Camille took over and it has been lovely, also listings management alone is worth it!

Great at sales pitch, but once you're in the door expect ZERO delivery, customer support & service.
I was billed for three months before our Yellow Pages advertisement was even published. After I raised it, it took another eight weeks for the ad to go live. On top of this, the quality of the ad they posted was TERRIBLE, and after requesting revised wording, I have now been waiting six weeks with no resolution.
There has been minimal proactive communication and no accountability.
I regrettably ignored the negative reviews on here and proceeded anyway. Proceed with caution!

They charged our small family owned business thousands of dollars. Made us do 90% of the leg work that they said was the point of hiring them. They posted one of the employees personal phone number on google as our company number.
Oh and to top it all off, we have received less phone calls than we did before hiring them.

All was amazing and the site turned out great..... Then the upgrade for SEO and marketing kicked in..... Cost my company well over 12K with nothing to show for it. Behind each turn was the same lie. We are working on it, it takes time, just put more money into the process. I fell for it as I believed in them after the amazing site was created. Then they kept causing marketing issues weekly and at times daily. They would not communicate from one department to the other and just keep running my bill up. Then I said enough is enough and you guys have a 100% money back guarantee, and this is wrong.. Guess what, they refuse to honor there guarantee, go figure. And we even signed up to be a reseller in the beginning and sent them over 30 clients of ours. and They STILL treated us like this. Yes they do have some great employees, we did work with some along the way. But all the way around all they want to do is take your hard earned money and do nothing for it. So take your money and go somewhere else. All they do is lie cheat and steal from you.
