Timber Windows Avis 93

We have used Timber Windows Ltd for our windows and have been very happy in the past. For past experience I would give a 5 star review.

However, we recently opted for a Timber Windows Ltd Front door. This has been a mistake.

The door is fragile, easily dented/scratched. The paint chips from the edges of the frame and cleans off with a damp cloth. The frame appears to be a particular weak spot.

The door is already looking worn after 2-3 months with markings due to highly damaging objects such as hand bags, finger nails and Tesco delivery crates.

We have had several front doors in the past costing significantly less but at least adequately coated to guard against hand bags.

UPDATED: Since corresponding with Timber Windows more on this situation it appears they believe this is normal for their doors and don't appear to accept the coating may be faulty or applied too thinly.

Timber Window Doors look stunning it must be said, but evidently require constant touch up and maintenance.

Had we known the 'soft' nature of these doors we would not have purchased.

FURTHER UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO THE REPLY BELOW:
Contrary to what is suggested in the reply which appears to deliberately and wrongly paint this complaint as a unreasonable response to builder damage and damage from "Robust Objects" (is a handbag a robust object?), the photos were sent in with a genuine concern for an inadequate and potentially faulty coating.

The 'builder damage' report I sent in weeks prior to the photos. This is one scrape. There are 8 photos!

The damage from keys I clearly said happened when unlocking the door - something I feel front door should adequately handle. This was also ONE photo out of 8.

The product is a soft wood timber door, painted with a water based microporous paint system. If the door is knocked or rubbed hard enough damage will occur and or paint chipped / removed unfortunately we cannot be held accountable for this.

You can attend to the areas as outlined on Page8 of the homeowners guide and you should have the paint pot which was supplied on installation.

We were very impressed with Timber Windows Cirencester who replaced all of the windows in our property. The professionalism and friendly and helpful attitude from Andy the designer, John the surveyor, Helen in installations and Ryan and Lee who coordinated the fitting team was really impressive. The fitting team were particularly amazing. They were so efficient, tidy and detail orientated as well as being a really nice bunch of people. The windows look great. Not the cheapest option but a good example of 'you get what you pay for'. Thank you.

It's disgusting that you think it is okay to dump your sales brochures on the stairwells of private estates like litter because you can't be bothered to put through residents letter boxes. This is disgraceful. There is no excuse for turning your brochures into rubbish. Leaving residents to collate these scattered leaflets and bin them. I have taken photos and reported this to The London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham.

From my first visit to the Clifton showroom to the final installation of new doors and windows I’ve been very impressed with TimberWindows. Phil and Kelly were so knowledgable in helping me make decisions, the surveyors arrived promptly and were very thorough, answering any questions I had. A big shout out to Lee and Lee who did the fitting, they did a superb job, I was amazed that no internal or external decoration was damaged in the process and I am absolutely thrilled with the end result. Thank you too to the office staff who communicated so well throughout, the whole experience exceeded my expectations and the product itself is top quality. My cottage is transformed!

Overall it was a great experience from the day we visited the showroom until the fitters completed the installation.

The product is good, the people knowledgeable and helpful and the ongoing communication was excellent.

The service based on our experience with our local Timber Windows shop, the reps who came out to measure, the staff in their office and the final installers has been excellent. Very pleased with the new French doors which were installed cleanly and promptly.

Having had new timber sash windows fitted in my previous home (in a preservation area) , there was absolutely nobody else that I even considered to supply/fit a new front door in my new home . Needless to say it is absolutely STUNNING and has transformed the front of the house totally. The absolute icing on the cake was that not only was it the same surveyor , but it was also the same guys who had previously fitted my windows 8 years ago - all hugely skilled and professional .

Great experience from the Clifton shop. Phillip was super helpful when we were choosing our front door, glass and furniture. There was a delay in fitting as the wrong glass had been supplied but this was not really an issue for us. Installers did a great job and made the whole area "good" again - no damage at all.

We used the Ivybridge Branch. The product is excellent. Looks and feels great. The installation was very good, we had a few challenges but they were settle calmly and efficiently - have and would recommend

We found the whole service from survey to installation first class. We were kept informed by your office leading up to installation, the office staff were friendly and helpful. The installation team were excellent, the team leader Lee went the extra mile to accommodate our needs.

The French doors have completely transformed our Cotswold stone house and we hope to have all our windows replaced by Timber Windows very soon. I did a lot of research and these were the best by far. Great experience from the showroom to instillation. All the staff at Timber Windows really know their products inside out & helped us make choices that worked the best for our property. The instillation team respected the property during instillation and did an incredible job in matching the mortar perfectly. We have an old period property that previously had secondary glassing & they did a great job of removing all traces and did a truly professional job. The windows & door look amazing and we’re so glad we picked Timber Windows. Worth every penny.

The quality of the doors (and their locks) on display in the Cirencester showroom of Timber Windows convinced me that this was the company to supply my new door. From then on, the designer who called to discuss plans, the surveyor who came to measure up and finally the men who eventually fitted the door, all were so professional, but also so easy to deal with. The door was fitted expertly, all mess removed, old door taken away and now I have a beautiful, extremely safe new door. Thank you all so much and I would highly recommend this company.

Been waiting six months for a quote.

Update: seven months later, we have received a quote for ONE window (we requested replacement of all windows).

Got a front and back door replaced by Timber Windows in Henley. They are on the more expensive end with their pricing, but to be fair, the lads that came round to fit both were absolutely quality. They were meticulous perfectionists when it came to ensuring that the fitting was spot on, spending a whole day on each of the doors, with about 3 of them there working the whole time. Not sure how long you normally expect people to take, but felt like we wouldn't have got a service like that if we'd gone with a cheaper option

The doors are lovely, and stain glass option we took for the front door looks amazing
