NO NO NO! With visiting French friends, we all Ordered battered fish and chips as we’d seen what neighbouring table was eating - looked superb. Ours arrived as flat, very thin, a third of the size, very like that supplied frozen by Sainsbury’s in a cardboard box, and one portion was not even completely cooked. Complained: answer was ‘yours was more expensive fish’. Not good enough. Should have asked for no charge but suggested free deserts which were delicious. Manager did not appear, to talk to us so poor waitress took the brunt. THIS IS JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

Timbrells Yard: I am a local but will not recommend or eat another meal with you. PULL YOUR SOCKS UP! Other locals have also said they boycott your establishment.

Absolutely the best chips ever. Was a little disappointed with the burger as seemed under cooked and parts were cold. May be the added items...cheese, pickles, cooled it. Probably should have said at the time but partner hates fuss.

We booked Christmas dinner for six people , so disappointed.
At almost £100 per head it was not a cheap meal and the food was very poor.
One person's starter didn't arrive until we had all eaten ours,and an hour and a half later dinner arrived.
Pigs in blankets and stuffing had been left off of all our plates by mistake,we asked the waitress if they should have been served but she said she had no idea what should be on the plate,so we went without, sprouts so hard they were inedible,no cranberry or bread sauce.
Desert was no better the ' deconstructed' lemon meringue pie was no more than a smear on the plate with a crumb and a few blobs of meringue, the table next to ours said they were also bitterly disappointed with their meal.
Whilst appreciating it was a busy service this was not a cheap meal and the quality of food was awful and service pitifully slow.
Far to many bookings for the number of staff to deal with .
By far the worst Christmas dinner we have ever had.
We were issued with a full refund but our day and meal were completely spoiled.
I shall most certainly not be going back nor recommend this establishment.

A very nice hotel in a great location, great food and great service.
