Fantastische ervaring.

I'd always wanted to see the home of the Titanic so finally took the opportunity. Very glad I did. Went mid week and booked an early morning tour. Best idea as it got very busy by mid day.

Came away with a mini titanic of my very own.

Too busy and chaotic

My second visit here and I found it very overwhelming the sheer number of people going around at any one time was ridiculous. Staff added to the chaos of this rather than trying to do anything about it.

The shut off their ride which meant we only got part of the experience and when I complained they weren’t in the least bit interested, telling me their terms and conditions allow them to vary what is available.

Save your money and find something better to do in Belfast or possibly try going early in the morning or before closing.

Value for money?

As an expat living in Denmark I had been telling my family about the ship and it’s history, and so I brought them to the museum.
Whilst the museum was indeed overcrowded, it was also very informative and so that brings the final score up a bit.
However is it necessary for all the interactive aids? It slows down the flow and people are in the way for others trying to read the different posters.
My issue is value for money. I remember the museum when it was in Cultraugh and whilst it was much smaller in many ways it was better. The price of 25 pounds is too expensive, and when you factor in the price of parking it is an expensive couple of hours!

Good but massively over crowded

Very interesting and well presented but dreadfully over crowded. Even though we had a specific time slot for entry, a lot of the exhibits were inaccessible due to the crowds and there was no way to get any respite or take a break for a coffee. After 2 hours of tripping over people, we lost sight with each other and spent fruitless time trying to hook up before giving up and missing the final section.

The food was very good tasty and well…

The food was very good tasty and well presented, however the service was dismal we ordered steaks which came before the soup, the serving staff while efficient, considering they were mostly new starts, they performed well, granted the bill was sorted out, I would have preferred a well timed serving.

Deeply disappointed and not worth the money or excitement

My partner and I travelled to Belfast from Scotland and this was the only thing that we pre-booked. I was genuinely excited and family, who stay in Northern Ireland, highly recommended it. I booked for a 12:30pm slot, expecting it to be organised in a slot-like basis.
However, it quickly turned out not to be the case.
The first half of the exhibit was extremely crowded and there was definitely no order. Queues quickly formed to read large, monotonous pieces of text in tiny, cramped, maze-like rooms. I love museums and love reading about history, but even I eventually skipped certain parts because people were taking far too long hovering over areas and I could feel myself getting worked up. Families with older children stood around interactive screens for upwards of 10 minutes, completely ignoring growing queues behind them.
We waited about 15 minutes or so for a ride that was over in about five minutes, if that. Completely boring and would turn you to face blank screens.
The second half was a bit better as it seemed to quieten down a little and become more spread out. However, by this point, my partner and I had had enough. We had one lady purposely stand in front of us, hand outstretched on the wall beside her after another lady left, blocking us and preventing us in reading what was on the wall about the distress calls that were made.

Highly disappointed.

I don't know if any member of the Titanic Museum team will read this, but if you do, please only give us slots if you are going to keep them! If I book at half 12, I expect to have a small handful of people who also have booked at that time accompanying me. It would make the experience so much more enjoyable. I am not usually a fan of guided tours, but this is one place where I think it would really work and would benefit from slot-like bookings.

£25 is a lot of money to have to skip entire exhibits due to overcrowding and selfish people - selfish people is not the museum's fault but can be prevented by lowering numbers at one time.

This is one of the best tours we have…

This is one of the best tours we have experienced. The guide we had was absolutely superb and the layout and design of the exhibition is fabulous.
It takes a few hours to get round everything but is really worth every minute! Fascinating, loaded with facts and figures that inform the scale of the disaster and its effects at the time and to this day. Well worth going!!

They do not clearly inform and shown that there are discounts for people over 60 years old

The museum is quite interesting and well done, we arrived there just one hour and a half before closing time, so we were in a hurry, actually we had bene told that some persons even spento four hours visting.
When we finished o nour tour we were surprised to find out that there was a discount for people above 60 years old, that was not clearly shown at cashiers and that we were not requested about our age even if we don't look like to be in outr fifties. We wrote then to the museum directly informing that we wanted a refund but they rejected our requests. We don't thiank this is a fair behaviour thinking that the full ticket Fair is of Gbp. 25,50 each person the discount was amouting to Gbp. 5 each.

20,000 steps

I was encouraged to write this by some of the drivel that has been written by one and two star reviewers.
Not having enough artefacts...people just walk in of the street...motorhome parks. I loved my experience and had some great conversations with staff members that were very knowledgable. They are usually in crowd control sometimes when the place gets so busy. I was done out just walking around on a visit with breaks! There is a pretty good cafe and a run across the road would get you a really nice lunch in a quiet environment. Expect on any day out to spend a few pounds. The place has to cover a lot of costs. (quieter in winter)
The new part with the tram/motorised ride was really quite breathtaking; not in a Tatyo-Park way (its got a new name I know) but bringing history in a very memorable way to young people.

Poor motorhome parking

We had to book a time slot once we had been able to park our motorhome which cost us £11 for 4 hours . Titanic needs to make carparks ( underground & ground level) accessible to this tourist base. The outside stuff which we did whilst waiting for time slot was excellent & once we were inside exhibition we understood what everything was. The exhibition was informative however disappointed at how few artefacts were on show & that replica staircase not part of tour. I’m glad we also visited Cobh museum as their guided tour really good

School Tour

Really disappointed with a recent school trip to the museum. Although advertising for school trips, from a teaching perspective this is not child friendly. The museum was overcrowded, and staff members in the red t-shirts were not particularly available, friendly, or helpful.
The host that greeted our group outside the museum made it sound like a staff member would be with us and explaining different areas and providing information. This was not the case.
We were advised during my complaint that educational tours can be booked, however we must have booked too late and this time of the year is too busy. Disappointing.

The children then experienced a walking tour outside the museum with a tour guide which was absolutely fabulous!

Quietly brilliant

I visited on a relatively quiet February mid week afternoon and it was by far the best time to go as visitor numbers were light.
I really opens up a whole world of information about the people and the city that were behind the building of these incredible ships, where the people came from, how the city came to be at the forefront of ship building and ,the driving forces behind it.
The whole exhibition is well balanced and flows very easily with mountains of information that you can choose to walk past or dive into. The whole thing has a very personal feeling about it when you pay the extra for the audio guide, well worth £4, so I would recommend that to all.
Would go around this again with my wife as \i know she would love it and i would still see new information that i missed this time.
