Lost $30 due to support team's bad instructions

Support asked me to fund my account to make it active. I sent a wire to do just that. It was then returned to me -$30 and the team said they couldn't make the account active and to open a new account.

I tried to open a new account but a bug in their form wouldn't allow an email address to be entered but also couldn't be submitted without an email address.

So now I'm just out $30 because they don't know how to make their own platform work.

Tradier stole my money

I joined Tradier back in January, after having issues with other brokerages, hoping to find more reliable and suitable broker. Unfortunately the complete opposite occurred. I live in Ireland, so my choice of option brokers is somewhat limited. I transferred a relatively small amount of $500 from another brokerage to Tradier. The first massive red flag was that they require $100k to trade index options. Which is crazy, as these are cash settled and entail less risk than stock and ETF options. Indexes are my primary option trades. So I began trading spread strategies on underlying stocks such as Google, Amazon, Spy etc. I experienced FREQUENT early assignment with these trades on the Tradier platform. Ok. Early assignment can happen with any American style options at any time. It can even be profitable if done correctly. The problem was, Tradier would not allow me to manage these assignments on my own. My account would enter a margin call when assigned, however, when I attempted to close the long call/put and stock position using a limit order, Tradier's risk team would cancel it immediately before market open(assignment happens overnight) and replace it with a covered stock position at THEIR chosen price, causing me to incur a loss. In fact, most times after assignment, the stock had gone in a favourable position, so my account was displaying a profit. I could not achieve it however as Tradier would simply neutralize the assigned position with the covered order. When I mentioned this to them, they stated it is their responsibility to protect the firms risk, not to analyze for client profit opportunities. This was calculated on their part. Not about risk at all. Also, when I did receive a fill on any position I opened, I could never get a fill to exit the trade. No matter what the mid price was at the time. Tradier then restricted my account, citing a large margin interest balance of $210, and worries of the account going negative from future trades incurring interest. They said they would only lift the restriction if I deposited another $500 to my account. As if that was going to happen. Tradier also charges a $9 per leg assignment fee. So my account was totally wiped out from assignment fees and margin interest, despite my trades being profitable both before and after assignment. But they ensured I took a loss because they took over my account and controlled what prices my trades filled at. Never in my favour. I have filed a complaint with FINRA. I also requested Tradier to wave the $75 international wire fee, in light of my dissatisfaction, however they have refused to do this. My account has the sum total of $91 remaining. I am furious and extremely frustrated at my entire experience with this so called brokerage. I do not and would NEVER recommend any person to sign up to Tradier. Do not risk your hard earned money with these crooks. They will ensure you lose it all!!!

Crooks

Crooks. For almost a year I have traded spreads and this platform would allow me to get into trades but wouldn’t fill exit trades that were 10 to 20% lower than the mid price and left on all day. Called to speak to some young kid who said it could only be exited as a debit even though with both legs combined the spread was a .50 credit for mid. These guys are CROOKS!!

Overall

Overall, a poor experience with only a few minor positives.
The platform feels extremely bare-bones and restrictive compared to other brokers. Functionality is limited, and you’re boxed into what they allow you to do.

The biggest issue by far is customer service — either incompetence or complete lack of accountability. There have been multiple trading days where Tradier was simply down, leaving clients completely stuck with no recourse.

The final straw was being locked out of my account. I reset my password repeatedly, confirmed the correct username directly with support, and still could not log in for days. Despite this, I was told it was somehow my fault. I understand how authentication systems work they fail more often than people think and that’s exactly what happened here. Instead of acknowledging the issue, they deflected responsibility and left me locked out of my own account.

That’s unacceptable for a brokerage.

I’m giving two stars only because there are a few small pros, like certain zero-fee offerings, but they are nowhere near worth the unreliability and frustration. I will never consider using this platform again.

Excellent customer service

I added Tradier for one of my accounts for their ease of working with BOTs. My primary broker does not allow API connections. I just got off the phone with them to deal with an assignment on a spread. They were professional, easy to understand and speak with, and the entire transaction from dialing the number to hanging up took less time than my 2 other brokers would have had a human on the line.

Overall a very good online broker but reverse splits may cause a problem

Overall a very good online broker with fast executions. They recently raised commissions on stock trades from zero to $.35/trade. Not zero but not bad. I primarily have an account because it's streaming data links very well to a quote program that I use. One downside, and the reason I deducted one star, is that they seem to have problems sometimes when a stock has a reverse split. I have been trying for about 3 trading days, still counting, and I am unable to trade in one of these issues. I have traded the same stock at other brokers with no problem.

Do not do business with sleazy and tawdry.

Do not do business with. Their compliance officer and agents are liars.

Several outages sometimes minutes hours even a day plus, they cause losses but dont assume them.
They have increased margin rates, but did not decrease when it rates went down.
They fail to execute orders, I have a Schwab account, hit but or sell same quantity and price, simultaneously, and Tradier fails to execute. Schwab's improve pricing of shares, not Tradier, and they will round up to they higher price.

Email customer service and wait sometimes a day or more....

ALWAYS have to get in Higher price

Been with them a long time yes commissions are cheaper but you always get filled at .01-.04 per contract higher than Schwab account so I opnl pay $10 per month for options unlimited because they make an estra $1-$5 per contract and slow fills if trying to get filled like you woulw with think or swim and fills rarely happen at Schwab prices VERY Rarely--Probably insane still using them

In brokerage business to get slow replies due to market volatility, I’d prefer to speak with real human little late than AI .

I want to withdraw my own money and its…

I want to withdraw my own money and its been over a month of process, they rejected my wire transfers and check withdrawals. They are still asking for proof of my own bank account that I wired the money from originally and when I provided the docs the wire request just disappeared from their system. If you want to work without headaches and work with your own money, please do yourself a favor and avoid this broker, there is tons of brokers that have a wonderful customer services and also do not hold your money from withdrawing.

High transfer fees $75.00 to move money

High transfer fees $75.00 to move monies to other brokers!! Then when I attempted to transfer money Tradier LOCKED my account. And I had to Call, Call, Call, to get them to unlock it! Terrible service,very, very long waits to answer calls.

No communication. Not professional in the least.

I do quite a bid of trading with Tradier. The site had a major outage on Friday, October 18, 2024. I was not able to trade open and expiring positions. I called customer service several times on Friday. No one answered. I received absolutely no communication from them on Friday. Today, it seems they closed my positions without consulting me to their advantage not mine. I still have not received a formal communication as to what happened and what they will do about it. They deserve to be put out of business. I will be closing my account. This is the third such mistake I have experienced in the past few months.

MUCHO CUIDADO

CUIDADO.. Esta semana la plataforma estuvo fallando mucho y el viernes 18 de Noviembre en medio de la sesion se bloqueo totalmente dejando todas las operaciones de los traiders abiertas y sin posibilidad de solucion, veremos cuales son las consecuencias.
Una cosa que he aprendido en este negocio es que NADA es gratis.
Abri una cuenta con este broker y desde el principio todo fueron problemas. Solo estuve 3 meses y me salio muy muy caro. Dicen que no te cobran por operaciones pero ya se lo cobran muy bien en otros conceptos. Pasarme mandar la misma operacion primero en Tradier y luego en otro broker de 1er nivel y ejecuarse antes. Cuando decidi cerrar mi cuenta y retirar mis acciones a otro broker, lo tuve que hacer en 2 ordenes por circunstancias de las opciones, pues me cobraron 75 + 75 dolares.. llame para quejarme, si si pero luego sin 150 dolares me quede.
La plataforma es basica y faltan datos que suelen utilizarse
Un caso aparte y lo peor que he visto es la app para el telefono movil, es una autentica basura, totalmente inoperable, muy lenta, sin darte informacion basica. no permite realizar operaciones combinadas..Es tan mala tan mala que me senti insultado y me hizo perder dinero.
Tampoco te permiten abrir puts desnudos aunque lo respaldes con tu propio dinero si no tienes 10K de buying power libre.
Cobran 5 dolares por cada asignacion de opciones, cosa que sucede muy rapido en cuanto te quedas sin valor extrinseco, lo que me hizo pensar mal.En otros brokers he llegado a estar meses sin asignacion incluso solicitandola
Si necesitas ejecutar una opcion de compra no se puede desde la plataforma, hay que escribir un emal explicandolo muy bien o llamar por telefono

Recently trading platform is down many…

Recently trading platform is down many times. It is difficult to contact customer service other than phone. There is no chat service. Trying to promote Futures as a separate account. I think Tradier should focus on Options/Equities platform work better before promoting Futures. Focus on Options platform first and make it work reliably. Whenever I enter a trade, I am fearful that platform may go down. So can only trade 1 or 2 small positions to avoid getting sucked into platform downtime and lose money. So it is not worth Free commissions, if you have to be fearful and take small positions. Not reliable and trustable when trading 10 to 20 contracts on DTE0 options. For fast moving markets, it is difficult to manage with non reliable platform.

Bad brokerage

Really bad experience with them. Their platform is not at all intuitive and customer service is impolite and not helpful. I would definitely recommend a more reputable brokerage. Don’t trust them with your money.

I had an extremely frustrating…

I had an extremely frustrating experience with Tradier Brokerage. My accounts were suddenly closed without any explanation. When I reached out via email for clarification, they asked me to call and assured me that after verifying my identity, they would reopen the accounts. However, after a long verification process, I was placed on hold for over 30 minutes, only to be told that they had made a business decision not to reopen my accounts—again with no reasoning. The lack of transparency and professionalism in this process was disappointing, and the inconsistent communication leaves me questioning the credibility and reliability of this brokerage.
