I have been using Transfer Connex for a number of years now and my dealings have been through Ross Kerley, although this is the first time I have been asked to review the site. In general, I find that I get contacted when rates are in my favour and, whilst various suggestions are made, such as options and forward contracts, they are explained but never pushed down your throat. Also, if you get difficulties changing currencies, paying money in or taking money out, all it takes is a phone call which is answered quickly and dealt with immediately. On this latest experience, President Trump's tariffs escapade had pushed the pound/euro rate from around 1.20 to around 1.16. I had a few euros available to change to Sterling, with more in May, so Ross suggested a forward contract which I could draw on over the course of a year with a rate fixed just below 1.16, so I committed the euros I had plus the euros I expected to get and set up a 3m euro drawdown contract. The next day, Trump reined back on his tariffs for 90 days and the euro climbed over a cent and I wax £30k richer in less than 24 hours. Well, on paper anyway, but the service and help I had from Transfer Connex now means that I have a rate that is more than acceptable to me that is valid for a year.
