TruGreen - Boston West Avis 6

I wish I could give them 0 stars. I had always fertilized my own lawn but now having 2 kids decided it was time to get a step back and give 1 chore up. Biggest mistake I made was going with trugreen over a local company. Not only did they did an absolutely horrific job adequately spreading the fertilizer but there were more weeds than ever. If I can give you one piece of advice, pay a bit more and go with someone local because trugreen is truly awful.

BEWARE - STAY AWAY! We were a first time customer and signed up for 7 treatments - 1 grub treatment and 6 fertilizer treatments.

The first treatment was in mid-April. We didn't hear about the scheduling for the second treatment. We had to call in to confirm the timing, and were told a date in mid-May. That day came and went, no one showed up, and no one called us to apologize/reschedule. We called back. We were then told June 6th. We both explicitly stayed home from work to ask questions about lawn care to the technician. Again, no one showed up. Again we called. We were told "the rep never pressed confirm". We now have a window of June 12-14. Again... no one showed up. Again we called. Again Customer support told us the appointment was never scheduled.

This is now 2 months after the first treatment. No one ever called us pro-actively and we needed to micromanage the entire relationship. We called and got a full refund for the remaining service.

They're good at taking your money. They're not good at meeting commitments.

As a nationally operating company,I would expect greater organization, more proactive communications, and greater reliability. Only use this service if you'd like disappointment.

I had a horrible experience with them. They came and did my lawn but did not do a good job and burn different areas of the grass resulting in brown patches all over. They don’t call back and you can never get through to anyone directly. You get some sort of receptionist when you call who has no knowledge of the work and cannot provide good response. I would never recommend this company to anyone. I wish I could give no stars.

I prepaid the season & everything seemed ok for several applications; until the past due notices began to arrive. Trying to resolve with customer service was useless. I paid the additional monies & cancelled the service. What a ripoff.

No stars, I now have more weeds than I've ever had in the 14 years I've lived there. They seeded my lawn in August!!!!! It's to hot in August!!! The seeds didn't grow. Since hiring them I do more weed killing and seeding than I've ever done, it's like they're adding weeds to my lawn. They told me they would come to spray every 4-5 weeks, but they actually come every 6-7 weeks so the weeds grow rampant and drop their own seeds by the time they show up!!! Their customer service blows. Their weed killer is too weak. Once they get your money they ignore you till next year when they want more money. Never again!!!! Stay away from this fly by night scam.

I just cancelled my services with them. I luckily work from home. On my scheduled service day I saw the Trugreen rep. turn around in my driveway and later I got a notice that he serviced my lawn. I called to complain and finally they came to make up for this service. My lawn still has weeds.
