Promising products and interface, but with shipping damage and incorrectly pre-drilled parts!
I'm writing this review as I took a chance on ordering furniture from this company, without seeing any reviews first. Since I have had difficulty contacting the company, I hope this review will catch their attention.
First, their interface is nice and their products look promising. I ordered during a sale, and I found the prices to be lower than most comparable looking companies.
Communication has been slow, which caused me to wonder if this company is a scam. I did not get any communication from the delivery company (JPHome) until just before my order was delivered - luckily I was able to be present for the delivery of the armoire and dining table I ordered. That said, I didn't receive any warning that the delivery company would only deliver to the door of my building (not even inside the foyer). Some of the boxes were extremely heavy and as I was alone, I had to unpack them in my foyer and bring each part up to my apartment individually. Some of the boxes were damaged and broken open, which means there are dents and chips in some of the parts of my armoire (I will ask for replacements for these). The delivery person left these boxes broken open facing the ground so that the furniture parts got even more scuffed from the pavement. There are also various scuff marks on the powder-coated steel base of the kitchen table that I'm unable to remove with cleaning. This component was well protected in transit, so I'm not sure how the marks got there. The table assembly was straightforward and I encountered no problems.
The real problem emerged when I began the armoire assembly. This is a large piece of furniture that is taking up the entire floor of my foyer at the moment. I first became annoyed by how easily the laminate is chipping when I insert the necessary screws into the pre-drilled holes. This will not be too visible from the outside of the piece, but it is less than ideal and I'm concerned about the longevity of the piece. After getting several steps into the assembly of this piece that is 2.2m high and 1.15m wide, I realized that a few of the parts have holes in them that are drilled incorrectly. After getting some help, I was able to finish the construction - there was either an error in the labeling of the parts, or in the instructions, which did not match the pieces provided.
I have tried to call the numbers listed on the company's website, and the calls are not going through. I sincerely hope that Upperhalf will compensate me appropriately for all of damage and inconvenience caused by their oversights. This company seems promising, but my experience obviously was not lacking in frustration.
