UXD Academy Avis 3

So I originally wanted to pursue UX because I wanted to switch my career. I wanted to get into a career where there is room for creative freedom but also pays well. UX is just that, it’s a mixture of structure, creativity and the amount of money you can make in it is great. UXD has a ton of awesome things about it, but I think the top 2 things in my opinion are the virtual aspect and the personable aspect of the course. Ev makes it a family and looks out for you like family, critiques you like family and praises you like family. He makes it comfortable enough for you to come forward if you aren’t getting something because let’s be honest, learning a new skill can be intense. Another aspect of UXD I really enjoyed was the insight from real life experienced professionals. The best thing about that is they all have different experiences and perspectives so it’s almost impossible for you to feel like a question can’t be answered or someone can’t relate to your anxiety and nervousness. UXD helped me land a bunch of freelance projects and that’s a realm I never even thought I could be so successful in. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in UXD and can’t wait to see the future of UXD.

The UXD Academy has changed my life in ways that I still cannot believe at times.

I went in one person with one set of ideas and came out on the other side forced to question everything I thought to be true about achieving my goals.

It's not just about learning UX, it's learning how to be a better person all the way around.

I found out about the UXD Academy on my way to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I ran into the instructor and he talked to me about making $100K/year to which I replied "no thanks, I don't do multi-level marketing" He told me it was UX design and he handed me a card asking me to do my research.

When I looked it up, I couldn't understand how what seemed like common sense could be a career choice.
I signed up as a part of the first graduating class and I have to say that I was impressed with the fact that it went so smooth for their first class.

They were very professional, stern and truthful yet compassionate and above all I learned that it's okay to be myself and have fun with it because it's my process and who I am that matters.

If you are on the fence about signing up and need proof that this works, consider my story. I went from waiting tables at IHOP struggling to pay my bills to UX practitioner working from home in under a year!

If I can do it, anyone can!

It is not a cake walk, but the effort you put in will pay you dividends if you stick with it!

Decide that you are worth it and take the leap.

UXD Academy was an amazing experience. I did the solo track, where I was able to have one on ones with Everett weekly and have a hands-on learning environment. Everett was always gracious with his help and advice. UXD Academy provided me with real-world UX projects to help me hone my skills. At the end of the solo-track, I received a UX job at a fortune 50 company. I credit UXD Academy with helping me achieve that goal.
