Vertex Renewable Surveys Ltd is an independent, survey-only renewable energy assessment company based in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, serving installers and homeowners across the UK. We do one thing: we survey. We don't sell heat pumps, solar panels, batteries or heat loss calculations as part of an install package — which means our reports are genuinely independent. Our customers get the evidence they need to make a decision, not a sales pitch dressed up as a survey. Every job we take on produces a Vertex pack: photos, measurements, room-by-room heat loss calculations (MIS3005-D aligned), cylinder and pipework assessments, noise and siting checks, and a written report delivered through our secure portal — usually the same week as the site visit. For installer companies, we work as an outsourced survey team. Same-week turnaround, fixed per-pack pricing, consistent pack structure across every job, and no competing commercial interest in the install outcome. The surveyor did not turn up for his appointment
Our first email confirming our survey date came on the 8th September for the 2nd September! We contacted the office and a new appointment made for 2nd October at 11am. Told Alex or Andy would be doing the survey, sadly no one turned up. We have had no explanation since. Sent an email to the firm and have had no acknowledgment. We have been left in the dark as to what the next step is. This is the reason I have given 1 star, I will review again when there has been a positive outcome.

Surveyor was insistent and intimidating
Surveyor was insistent o. Phone calls to visit at his convenience. Having booked a survey for 10am he turned up at 9am whilst i didn't get back till 9.45
insisted on doing the survey whilst my wife was reluctant to have stranger in the , who frankly was intimidating. I returned home at 9.45 to see him drive off. Not one life's better experience.

Your appointment was booked for 10am and we completely understand that arriving earlier than expected may have caused inconvenience. Our surveyors can sometimes be ahead of schedule and may call to see whether an earlier appointment is convenient, but there should never be any pressure to allow access before the agreed appointment time.
We also take your comments regarding the manner of the surveyor seriously. Customers should always feel comfortable when one of our surveyors attends their property.
We will be speaking with the surveyor concerned and reviewing what happened so that we can make sure our usual standards are maintained.

Got a phone call ahead of time on the day of the survey explaining the time of expected arrival, and then again 1 hour before arriving. Explained where he needed to be & why, and what reiterated what I need to provide: access to loft, energy bill, annual electricity usage, access to battery location and to consumer unit.
Very polite, efficient, experienced and happy Geordie. Compared notes on the angles.
He explained some of the options, answered my questions and where we go from here, confirming the report had been submitted before leaving the premises.
Great service and would highly recommend, based on my experience.

Friendly and considerate, he was knowledgeable and shared what information he was obtaining and what he needed from me as the homeowner without any fuss. An amazing service which went above and beyond what I expected. Nothing but professional throughout, I would recommend their service to anyone considering solar and/or heat pumps. A++

Steve is a credit to Vertex
We were due a visit from a Vertex surveyor but they had car issues so got a call from Steve (proper Geordie :)) who fitted us in even though we weren't on his list for the day.
what a great lad ! Talked us through what he needed to do along with the time it would take, told us everything we needed to know, seemed to know his stuff and looked like he loved his job. He was a credit to the Vertex company.
