Suzel and Emma clearly listened to our hopes and expectations for a winter holiday in the north of Scandinavia and put together a plan that delivered above and beyond.
Original flight plans were disrupted when the airline cancelled one leg of the journey but Suzel quickly found a series of alternatives and discussed the merits of each one. Some advice given out of usual office hours which was very reassuring. Our hotel and all activities while we were there provided first rate personal service. Whale watching, dog sledding, reindeer sled with local Sami guide, snow shoeing through the woods and a tour of the ice hotel made for a wonderful and very memorable trip. Huge thanks to the team at Where the Wild Is. Your guidance and recommendations were spot on.

All went to plan and everything was in place plus all trips transfers ferries were timed to perfection. Where The Wild Is were absolutely brilliant in communication and looked after every detail. Would definitely recommend to family and friends we will definitely be booking another trip with them.

What can I say... This was by far one of the best trips we have ever been on. We flew to Helsinki for a night and then spent 5 nights in the wonderful Finnish Lapland. The weather, the food, the accommodation, the activities, there is nothing to fault.

We just returned from a week's holiday in Norway and had the most wonderful time. Emma had thought of everything and all of the activities were so well considered for our family (we have a 7 & 10 year old). We enjoyed a snow shoe hike & ice fishing, husky and reindeer sledding & a fijord cruise, as well as a northern lights hunt. The app was really handy so that we had our daily itinerary (including taxi pickup times and tickets for our activities) all in one place and was very responsive over what's app for any last minute changes we wanted to make. Emma really helped make everything so stress free and was full of helpful advice from what to pack to advice on which restaurants we should pre book due to our Sunday arrival time and most places being closed. We wouldn't hesitate to book another holiday with Where the Wild Is.

Fantastic customer service and the opportunity to customize the trip to our preferences was second to none. Communication was great throughout and the app was a huge benefit to help us keep track of our itinerary. The welcome package was a nice unexpected surprise as well. Emma is so knowledgeable about all things connected to Finland. I have previously used another company before finding Emma and my experience was not good. When you go to Finland you need a well thought through plan. When I first contacted Emma I knew given her knowledge and approach she was the right person for the job. From the moment we spoke with Emma she was incredibly kind and helpful and gave us so much information regarding the trip prior to booking. We've just returned from the most brilliant holiday spent in West Sweden arranged by Emma. Gothenburg was fantastic; full of culture, beautiful to walk around and with numerous excellent restaurants. After the city we spent 4 nights on the islands - what an experience! We hiked, kayaked, swam - a lot, and ate the most amazing shellfish. We lucked out with the weather and enjoyed a week of long, bright, sunny days. The archipelago is very scenic, non touristy, and has masses to do if you like spending time outside.
Emma was wonderful from start to finish, she has experience of the area and was brilliant at tailoring suggestions for our family of 4 (two teens). Our itinerary was perfect, we had great accommodation, and the logistics were very well organised (loved the Vamoos app!) . I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Where The Wild Is and this little part of Sweden for an interesting and exciting family holiday.

Emma put a lot of thought into our itinerary and it was extremely well orgainised. The guides we had were excellent - friendly and informative. We learnt so much about all aspects of the Faroes - history, geology, economy, biology, infrastructure, farming, fishing. And great food!

Our adventure to the Faroes, to celebrate our 70th birthdays, had to be postponed for a year (surgery), but Emma smoothly rearranged the itinerary, deposit and all, to June/July 2024……And what an adventure we have just had! Hiking with personal guides, delicious packed lunches, superb meals in residents' homes, and luxurious accommodation in hotels and guest houses meant that we were interacting with local people every day. We explored most of the islands in a hired car, with a two-day stay on Suduroy by ferry from Torshavn. Among so many wonderful destinations, the Vestmanna boat trip was exhilarating, the guided day on Kalsoy strenuous but glorious, and and the hiking on Mykines with our lovely guide, Oda, was a spectacular end to our holiday, with thousands of puffins everywhere! Emma was available at all times and responded to queries immediately and efficiently, we couldn't have asked for more personal service.
This was supposed to be the holiday of a lifetime - and it succeeded 100% - but the taste for adventure has whetted our appetite….the Northern Lights are beckoning….and we wouldn't dream of heading that far north with anyone but Emma's passionate team at Where the Wild Is!

My very first time to the Faroe Islands (between 8-16/5) and so far it was the best solo travelling experience in my life. Emma was extremely and wholeheartedly helpful, and went down to details in planning for my trip whilst accommodating my needs. The spots she recommended were scenically mind-blowing! The trip to Mykines by a local guide (Oda Anderson) recommended by her was also excellent!

All in all, just professional and made my journey a memorable one!

Me and my father wanted to see the Northern Lights in Norway but had little idea of where to go or, what to do. Emma was an incredible source of knowledge and was able to provide us with several options, none of which we would have easily been able to come by had we done this ourselves. We ended up staying at the tranquil Aurora Cabins situated at the foot of the Lygen Alps and we did manage to see the Northern Lights!

Emma also included a detailed itinerary and a clear, easy-to-manage list of relevant travel documents/vouchers through the Vamoos app which was very useful and made it effortless for us to explore Tromso and the surrounding areas. When we had a flight delay, Emma was available to help us plan alternative ways to reach Oslo. She even suggested we try and get the money back for the flights, which prompted us to try and, we successfully did!

All in all, our trip to Tromso and the Lyngen Alps was a huge success and will live long in our memories, this was all thanks to the deeply researched options presented by the team at Where The Wild Is. Thank you team, we'll be back :-)
