Lucy was brilliant at explaining to us both the best way to make our will as we wanted to ensure that our children didn't miss out on anything when we died as I had had a bad experience when my mum died but she made everything really easy. I would definitely recommend her to my friends and family and would go back to her at Wilford Smith if I needed any further advice.

Many thanks to the orange team for dealing with my property purchase and seeing it through to completion. Alisha was my point of contact throughout and was a great help with any queries that I had. The whole process took just over 2 months as a chain free buyer, and when the estate agent was being pushy near the end of that time and making threats of losing the property, the team swiftly dealt with getting things completed. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS FIRM - THEY TOOK ON OUR CASE AND AT THE LAST MINUTE AND CLOSE TO EXCHANGE THEY LET US DOWN. NOT A SINGLE PERSON FROM THE FIRM CONTACTED US OR ADVISED US THEY WERE NO LONGER ACTING FOR US. WE WERE INFORMED BY A THIRD PARTY, OUR ESTATE AGENT THAT THEY WERE NO LONGER ACTING FOR US. THEY DID NOT EMAIL US OR PHONE TO DISCUSS THIS WITH US AT ANY STAGE. WHEN I ORIGINALLY CALLED AND SPOKE TO THE MANAGER SHE SAID THAT SOMEONE FROM THE FIRM HAD CALLED AND SPOKEN TO MY HUSBAND WHICH WAS TOTALLY UNTRUE. THEY CLAIMED THEY EMAILED US ON 10TH MAY 2024 AND THIS WAS AGAIN UNTRUE. AT NO STAGE DID THEY REQUEST ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION OR ADVISE US THE REASON FOR NOT ACTING. WHEN I AGAIN PHONED AS THE CLIENT TO ENQUIRE WHAT WAS HAPPENING THE PEOPLE DIRECTLY INVOLVED AVOIDED MY CALL AND REFUSED TO SPEAK TO ME. THE PEOPLE ON THE RECEPTION DESK ADDITIONALLY REFUSED TO PUT MY CALL THROUGH TO ANYBODY DEALING WITH OUR CASE. I THEN EMAILED TO ASK FOR FURTHER DETAILS AND ALL MY EMAILS WERE IGNORED. A TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL AND DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE.

The communication at the beginning was a bit complicated. I had number just for the reception and after long time I got finally the number on Joshua (member of purple team). Joshua was quite good and as my case was easy in the beginning and quite hard on the end; he understood after some time that situation is quite serious after weeks was going and going without any movement ( because of seller's solicitors). I would say that Wilford Smith are good but they should improve their skills of step in if some problems arise. I was waiting looong time for completion date just because poor communication and unnecessary waiting for something what have never happened. Also at the end I was waiting for my completion early morning as they know my situation and nobody really take any special care or action to comply my needs. I can just say that if you don't need any special needs or you are sure that your mortgage will be going smoothly... it's good choice otherwise I don't have any other experience with another solicitors so I don't know if it's the standards or which kind of professional level WS are :) ... Thank you Joshua for your help I really appreciate it!

I contacted Enrique Garcia after a recommendation to assist with an employment related matter. Enrique was personable and dealt with the matter quickly and professionally. From my initial call to him he arranged a teams call within three hours and dedicated the time to go over what was needed in a way where he explained things is a way that ensured I understood. Given he had only 24 hours to deal and respond to the matter he delivered this with ease and in a way that I did not feel any additional stress or pressure. A true professional and credit for his work with a complex employment related matter.

Would recommend, although make sure you understand how they work. For reference, I am a second time home buyer. Wilford Smith do the onboarding and virtually all of the communication through an outsourced team in Sri Lanka (they work for Tellida). That team of "Support Assistants" does work UK hours and I found them to be quite responsive (daily), polite and highly fluent. My main knock is that there's no visibility into the queries process, i.e. I was not shown the queries WS sent nor saw any responses they received during a c. 2 month period of time. In the last 2 weeks, I was being told that the final report is "under review", yet I had no idea what was even asked of the seller, which meant I didn't know if there were any red flags. I also didn't receive any communication from a UK-based legal professional until the final report was received (I was told, and believe to be the case, that the final report is reviewed and approved by a UK-based solicitor). When I received the report, I was contacted by my legal lead in Sheffield, and we spoke on the phone to clear up any questions - she was quite helpful. I would also add that WS were on the ball with the searches and I found their reports to be satisfactory. I have no problem with part of the function being outsourced to Sri Lanka in principal, but I wish that the UK solicitor was copied on the correspondence and I heard from her before everything was supposedly finalised. So as I said - just know what you're getting into. You will be onboarded and have all of your communication with a responsive and professional team of support assistants in Sri Lanka, but you will likely not have any communication with a UK based solicitor until the end of the process. I do really appreciate how responsive they are because my first home purchase I had to chase and chase the solicitor (though he was the Partner of the practice). Overall I think the service is reasonably good and superb value, so would recommend for straightforward purchases but perhaps not for anything with some hair on it where you need proper legal advice and handholding. I hope that's useful to prospective customers. Happy buying/selling!

Almost everyone we knew , was telling to us that we would have many delays and would be very unhappy with the solicitors work on buying our first property but we never had this problem with Wilford Smith team. Fantastic service from Lewis Battersby at Wilford Smith Solicitors. I've never been in trouble with the police before or even stepped inside a police station. So to be put in a cell for 12 hours was pretty traumatic. Then Lewis arrived and took control in a very professional Manor. He calmed me down and reassured me that everything was going to be alright. He then went through everything with me and advised me clearly. I just had to tell the truth and put my side of the story across and everything would be okay and it was.
