Visit to Wimbledon on 9th July 26

I went to Wimbledon on 9th July with two other guests after a gap of four years. I had been unsuccessful in the ballot as well as online ticket shop, so I joined the queue.

To my surprise, I managed to get Number 1 court tickets for the men's doubles semi final. Amazingly, the seats were in Row C to the side of the umpire's chair and players chairs. The men's double semi finals were very good and great to see Henry Patten.

Earlier, I joined the virtual queue for Centre Court returns and was very fortunate to later secure some returns which enabled me to watch the Mixed Doubles final. It was a worthy doubles final and the seats were in similar positions to what I experienced on Number 1 court. With the roof closed at one set all, it was nice to have air conditioning on what was a very hot day.

Fabulous day out as always

5th year of going to Wimbledon and again loved every moment from the smooth transport to and from the station to ground. Good security and everyone so professional and pleasant. Brought our own food and so had more money to spend to spend in the wonderful gift shop. Great tickets for centre court and watch 3 brilliant games of tennis 🎾 thank you also the the military who ever year work above and beyond, roll in 2027

Disappointing experience Wimbledon

Very disappointing experience with Wimbledon. You expect the highest standards of organisation and customer service from Wimbledon. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.

I wasn't successful in the public ballot, so I spent a great deal of time trying to secure tickets through the official ticket sale. Eventually, I managed to purchase two Centre Court tickets.

A few days later, however, my tickets were cancelled because the payment had been made using my husband's credit card rather than one in my own name. While I understand that Wimbledon has terms and conditions, I strongly disagree with the way this was handled.

Wimbledon claimed they had contacted me to request further information before cancelling my tickets. However, I never received any such email. I checked my inbox, spam and junk folders thoroughly. The only other contact was a missed call from a number my phone flagged as "Suspected Spam", which could not be identified as Wimbledon, and when I tried to call the number back it could not be reached.

In my view, insufficient effort was made to contact me before taking the drastic step of cancelling my tickets. A follow-up email, text message or voicemail could easily have resolved the issue.

As a lifelong tennis player and fan, this has been extremely disappointing. My advice to others is to be very careful: make sure every detail, including the name on the payment card, exactly matches your account, and do not assume that Wimbledon will make every reasonable effort to contact you before cancelling your tickets.

Another year of Wimbledon tennis has…

Another year of Wimbledon tennis has brought significant disruption to local residents, with extensive road closures making everyday travel unnecessarily difficult. I have now discovered that more closures have been put in place this year compared to last.
There is no regard for the impact this has on people who rely on these roads daily to get home from work, often forcing long and inconvenient detours. This becomes especially difficult when you’re trying to get home on time for things like nursery pick-ups at the end of the working day.
On top of this, there now appears to be enforcement targeting residents for using roads that are part of our normal daily routes, which feels like an additional burden placed on the local community rather than support or consideration.
This level of disruption happening year after year is unacceptable for residents.

Where is security!

I’ve just arrived and there’s some bloke screaming and shouting and what I believe is an attempt to ‘dance’. I have complained to security and they have not removed him. He scared my elderly mother in her wheel chair as he suddenly started shouting. Not a great experience to start our day out.

Finals tickets not worth the money anymore

By some miracle we got tickets for ladies finals this year (2025). have been for finals a few years ago and had a wonderful day of tennis. This year, we along with most people on centre court came away feeling short changed. Mens doubles finals was the first match and only three sets (had been 5 previously) and was over and done with in just over an hour. Long wait for the ladies final (something to do with American TV scheduling) and when it finally started the match was done and dusted in 59 minutes. So for tickets that cost over £250 each we saw just over 2 hours of tennis. Anything played on the outside courts was happening the same time play was taking place on the show courts so you couldn't even go elsewhere for the rest of the day. Word to the wise - watch the finals at home, you won't get ripped off by play, food and drink and the transportation to the courts.

Total waste of time

Total waste of time trying to use their ticket system. When you log in to your account, it insists on sending you a code to input, which is valid for 10 minutes. This would be ok except the link arrives 12 hours later! Tried 10 times now and same every time.
Given up now; I will watch on TV if I bother at all

COMPUTER PUBLIC BALLOT RUBBISH!!!!!!

TRIED to apply for the 2nd year in a row for the PUBLIC BALLOT ticket application. What a fiasco as I just went round in circles on the laptop. Gave up and will NOT bother again !!!! It was much better when it was done through a POSTAL application as I nearly always turned up tickets. Modern tech fails again ??

The Walled Garden Outlet @ Wimbledon

The AELTC employed the Compass-Group to run the Walled Garden food outlet at the 2025 AELTC Championships (Wimbledon). The new CCTV technology incorrectly identified my purchases and, as a result, I was overcharged. Despite initially showing interest in correcting the mistake Compass-Group are no longer replying to my emails and the AELTC have not replied at all! No alternative than to take it up with my Credit Card provider.

A Day at Wimbledon week is quintessentially British, but it has been spoilt!

A Day at Wimbledon week is quintessentially British and have enjoyed visits and being lucky enough to have tickets to Centre & No 1 Court. However, the last two years the experience has been marred by the noticeable increase in attendance. The place is now heaving with people which does not make it enjoyable to walk around the grounds and take in the setting which is lovely without doubt. The attention to detail for everything is spot on. Except for the number of people visiting. Not enough seating areas if you don’t want to go to one of the places to eat or drink, just to be able to sit down! The last two years this has definitely taken the edge off of the visit I have always looked forward to. Without a seated ticket on one of the courts I would not entertain going! Outside courts you can queue for hours just to get a seat, a waste of your day.
My main concern was safety, with that many people that it is impossible to walk in a straight line and staff directing people one way down outside steps to get to various areas of the grounds, shows the volumes! If there was an incident I would be very fearful!

Absolute rubbish again

Absolute rubbish again. The app on Android dodges between myWimbledon and Wimbledon to make it difficult to find. I should/might have tickets in there but there's no menu option for tickets. The email telling me to download them doesn't tell me where they are. Thank God I've got them printed on paper. Nigel Root

Not the best experience

Not the best experience, after having an email telling me to login to my account on ticket sale day I couldn’t find how to get the tickets. I had to go through my previous emails to find the correct link. (I actually received the correct link 2 hours after the ticket lines opened!!) I managed to get centre court tickets right at the back but as I was taking my 80 year old mother who has problems walking this was not good. I emailed Wimbledon to ask if there were any lower seats available but my email was ignored.
On the day, conveniently, the opponent of Novak Djokovic withdrew an hour or so before play, this resulted in just two competitive matches being played on centre court yet on July 10th (the day we went) Wimbledon broke the record for the most matches played in a single day!! It cost over £400 for our day out just to see one women’s match and a mixed doubles. Think twice about spending your hard earned money!!

For the last 12 years I have entered…

For the last 12 years I have entered the public ballot but unfortunately without success. As an avid fan it disappoints me greatly to see so many empty seats at great matches on courts one and centre court. Sold obviously to people who would rather sit in hospitality then watch a match that they bought a ticket for. Then you look at the stars in the Royal box mostly rich celebrities and guess what the seat is free and so is the hospitality and then they get their free goody bag. Maybe the LTA should ask them to make a donation to charity for the privilege.
I also out of interest tickets for the Men’s final, a mere £8300 each out of reach for 99% of us.
Fingers crossed for the next ballot.

Over priced Wimbledon

Stop blaming the weather for poor attendance it's the prices that have kept people away, if you really want to encourage fans then fill the seats up at a cheap price stop being pompous old fuddy duddies

Resale tickets via My Wimbledon account

I was unsuccessful in the ballot for this year (2024). This via having a My Wimbledon and LTA account. Why have they stopped giving people the chance to purchase resale tickets via MyWimbledon this year. I can’t afford debenture tickets and yet my only other option is to wait in the queue and hope I get in. In 2019 I queued for 6 hours in extremely hot weather and got in by 3.15pm. Whilst queuing and watching the big screens, there were loads of empty seats on centre court (probably the debenture ticket holders ones). How fair is this that fans should queue for hours. Please review this to try and make it a little bit fairer for a genuine fan. I am fortune that I have been lucky in getting ballot and resale tickets to centre and number 1 courts, but many other fans won’t have been.

The Wombles of Wimbledon

They couldn't care less about their own British players. That's how stuck up they are. They seem to be so proud of turning a tournament into an SS concentration camp minus the barbed wire, by using officials dressed in old fashioned military uniforms to man the security....who do they think they are. I've seen less bald spots in the Royal box than on their courts.

Won't be bothering again...

We last attended the AELTC 10 years ago in 2013, got to see many different players and there was always seats available on the outside courts. I don't think anything could've prepared us for our return this year. Where to start, we'd been able to get parking in Wimbledon Park but the people directing us there sent us the wrong way and we ended up in Wimbledon Village. When we finally got there we had to queue to get in, even though we already had paid for our tickets. Upon entrance to the grounds, there was far too many people being admitted and majority of the time it was impossible to even navigate through the gangways between courts due to there being so many people. We had been to Wimbledon in the years 2011-2013 and had always been a very pleasurable experience (I am a massive tennis fanatic by the way) but now it saddens me to say that I won't be returning nor would I recommend anyone else too. Far too stressful, overpriced food, nowhere to sit, and when you pay £100 a ticket you expect things to be organised better, such a huge disappointment for what once was an exciting place to be.
