Wimpy UK Avis 

We visited Eastbourne Wimpy branch. I didn’t want to eat here but my partner had fond memories from childhood so I gave in. Wish I’d stuck to my gut instinct because it was the worst food I’d eaten in a very long time. I took one bite from burger and nearly threw up it was that rancid. I left the rest and tried the fries, again awful,bland, tasteless limp offerings. My partner left his as well and was really disappointed at the change and quality .We paid £26 for our “meal” which was way overpriced . Five Guys are the same price and their food far superior in taste and quality..and unlimited drinks too. Young man who served us was lovely though. We will never go back.

Service is beyond shocking. Food just sits under the warmers, drinks left to go cold on the counter. When I asked to order after waiting fifteen minutes (there were four tables in) I got a snotty nosed kid mumble under her breath something and just ignore my request. The two staff have plenty of time to drink their own drinks though as food sits in the warmer Shocking beyond belief!

The place was clean and the staff was great and it was quite full. My wife and I had burgers and a side of the chicken strips to share. The food was cooked fresh to order and the buns was toasted which was a nice touch. The minus points for me was the actual quality of the burgers, they didn't have a steak or beef taste and didn't come close to McDonald's or Burger King. If Wimpy can source a better quality of burger then this would be a place you'd go to regularly rather than just once every few years for a nostalgic experience.

Sat 11 May 2024 - I just had the most frustrating experience at my favorite breakfast spot. I show up at 16:40, website & google maps say they close at 18:00, store window says the same. But when I try to sit down, server says they close at 17:00. Showed him proof but he said no and abruptly kicked me out. Went back 10 mins later to take a pic of the sign, but it was gone! Like, why advertise one time and mean another? Do you not want my business anymore? 😒

For ten quid, thought would get something at least partially edible. But the quarter pounder was the worst I've ever tasted. Bland and soggy. Way too much sauce. More like a truck stop burger and that's doing a disservice to truck stop places. No wonder there aren't many wimpys left.

We’ve been going to Wimpy for many years. It has been rebranded- yesterday will be the last time we go there. Overpriced and awful food. We always have the Wimpy Grill - it was awful! They’ve changed the hot dog sausage. It was inedible. Such a shame as we used to look forward to going there. The staff are so surly - not even a thank you when I paid £28+ for two meals and two drinks. Don’t think it will survive.

Never seen a service and food so bad. The atmosphere was ok and the staff acted like they didn't wanna be there. The food was below average wouldn't feed it to a dog. Do not visit not worth your money!

We have been to the swanage wimpy twice now, and can always rely on a clean resturant, quick food, and a great service team.

The swanage staff are great. They greeted us as soon as we walked in and were friendly, nothing over the top too which is nice.

I went to eat with my son at wimpy a treat especially with the prices being one of the highest probably in the country for a burger .
The burger was great but what was not so great is when you go to eat in a wimpy restaurant there is an additional tax of 20% to eat "IN" instead of takeaway that is not mentioned on the menu or really clear anywhere this is a total rip off and not surprising that so many have shut down.
It's still one of best burgers but be aware ..
Also the take away drinks come with a paper lid and leaks everywhere and is a small.cup with a size large price especially for Pepsi.
Great Burger ... No Value for money though .
"WONT EAT IN A WIMPY RESTAURANT AGAIN"

Recently visited the Fraserburgh branch. Service was really quick and friendly. The freshly cooked food came pretty quickly. Quarter pounder was really nice and the special sauce is so good!! Fries were piping hot and perfectly cooked. There isn’t much Wimpy’s left out there now, but i hope this one stays open for a long time to come.

The worst fast food I have ever experienced. I went to Portsmouth Wimpy to try some burgers. What a horrible experience. I paid 3 times more than any usual burger place and the burger was absolutely awful. Even the customer service was painful. Never again Wimpy 👎

Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Excessive charging from wimpy high Wycombe

i am writing to express my dissatisfaction with a recent experience at your establishment. On 29/11/23 I ordered a burger, and to my surprise, I was charged £8.50 for the burger alone, without any accompanying bun.

I believe this pricing is disproportionate and does not align with industry standards. Typically, when ordering a burger, one expects it to include the basic components, including the bun. Charging £8.50 for just the patty seems unreasonable and lacks transparency the waiter found it quite funny when I questioned the price I will not eat from there again and would advise the general public to ask how much it costs before you eat because they will not tell you the true cost they expect every one to be able to read the menu the problem was all I did was change the set menu from having two sausages and changed it for a burger instead the waiter should have informed me the burger will be £8.50 alone I'm so angry with wimpy high Wycombe.

We dropped in on the new Wimpy in Tonbridge. Had a great burger with plenty of fries. Wimpy is still my personal fav burger restaurant. Great service too. What's not to love!

But please....could you bring back the ice cream floats?

We love wimpy, but why have you started putting your fries into bowls!? We just empty them onto the plates! 🙄

Staff were polite and wimpy clean.service was very fast but small portion of chips and solid egg . Also asked for beans on toast and got 2 pieces of toast and small pot of beans . This with 2 teas came to £17:10 !!!!

Went to lowestoft wimpy today so glad it back.great place to eat,lovely food,fantastic atmosphere and such friendly and amazing staff who certainly went above and beyond for myself and my family.especially kirsty and Amy.will definitely be eating here again very soon.

Service abysmal, cannot get the food you want, wanted breakfast other than all day breakfast told no finished at 11am. Not a good idea to tell your customer's they cant have what they want when they are paying for it. So i had a pot of tea now i know why they say as weak as pi** water will not be going again!!! They haven't gone down hill they have fallen off the cliff

So I was in southsea today with my friends and that we were hungry  we went to to a restaurant  but it’s was booked up until 8:00 so we all said  no we didn’t like wimpy but haven’t been for a long time so we are said let’s go it’s was only a take away is there shutting down soon and it’s so expensive the burger looked disgusting but it was okay The chips was good my milkshake was alright I wouldn’t really go and eat here again 

Over priced, service terrible,customer service online terrible they do not reply don't seem to care about keeping customers! any problems with the other fast food restaurants least they reply and want to keep you as a customer
