Developer harassing me

I recently tested WP Auto Blog using the trial offered on their website before deciding whether to purchase the product.

The trial is described as a “free trial” on their homepage, although it requires a $1 payment and allows users to generate up to 100 articles during the trial period.

I signed up for the trial, generated articles to test the software, and then cancelled within the trial period because the tool wasn’t the right fit for my workflow.

After cancelling, the developer contacted me by email asking for feedback about why I had cancelled the trial and said that if I provided feedback he would give me an extra month free. I replied with detailed feedback explaining my experience and clarified that I did not need the additional free month.

In the same email I also mentioned that I had noticed a payment attempt against my card despite cancelling the trial.

After this, the tone of the conversation changed significantly. I was told that because the generated articles were live on my website I must either remove them or pay for the service.

When I reviewed the terms and conditions that were available at the time, I could not find any clause stating that content generated during the trial could not be used or must be removed.

During the email exchange, the developer later sent a screenshot of terms stating that trial content could not be used commercially. This wording did not appear in the version of the terms that I had previously reviewed leading me to believe he had gone ahead and changed them during our email exchange.

Throughout the exchange I received multiple emails insisting that I either remove the articles or pay for them, along with comments suggesting I had used resources without paying. I found this communication uncomfortable and unnecessarily confrontational given that I had signed up for and cancelled a trial within the trial period.

In addition, the communication was sent from a personal Gmail address rather than a company domain.

The software itself may work for some users, but my experience with the trial and the way the situation was handled afterwards left me uncomfortable continuing with the service.

Edit to add: since this review went live the developer is harassing me again to remove the review.

Emma liked our tool so much that she generated 100 articles with it which are still live on her website as of today and never paid: https://wesot.com/ultimate-cruise-boat-party-a-british-celebration-on-the-high-seas/

EDIT
After some research it turns out other people already had to deal with Emma Drew and her 'business':

I got insulted by email

I got insulted by email by the website owner.

They called me "Numbskull". Very professional! Steer clear from this business, the articles quality are also exceptionally bad.

Edit: The owner now claims he didn't insult me by email but I sent the proof already that this actually happened. Also he's been sending me emails to remove my review.

This review is fake and was written by the owner of BlogSEO, which is a shitty copycat of our tool.

Please take a moment and check his Trustpilot profile yourself. He only rates competing AI tools 1 stars and his own one 5 stars. He signed up to our platform with the email Martin.Durant... but used his real name so that we can be absolutely sure that it is him Vincent Josse
