Refused refund & lied during chargeback process
I ordered clothing and returned the items within their stated timeframe of 14 days. The return was delivered to their UK returns address and receipt was confirmed by the company via email
Despite compliance with the policy, I was refused a refund to my original payment method and was instead issued store credit
When I raised it directly, they refused to amend my refund, so I raised a chargeback with my bank. WRE then *changed their story* and claimed I had retained possession of the items, while concurrently emailing me threats of legal costs should I not withdraw my claim before an arbitrary date, recovery of costs and legal action
The chargeback has now been resolved in my favour.
I would not recommend engaging with this company, and if necessary review the returns process carefully, particularly for items marked as “final sale”, keeping all records
