I stand by my review and would like to clarify the key facts.

I requested a survey before accepting the work. I was told additional pipework was required at extra cost, which I accepted, bringing the total to ~£1,700. After confirming acceptance by email, I received no response and had to chase several days later to confirm the job was even proceeding. Communication issues started from the beginning.

The installation involved cutting wood with power tools and opening a hole in the wall, causing significant vibration in the same wall where the washing machine discharge pipe is located. That pipe had never leaked before. After this work, it came loose and caused flooding. Calling this “unrelated” ignores basic cause and effect.

Shortly after installation, a connection failed and water was spraying under mains pressure, flooding my kitchen. Regardless of wording, spraying water inside a kitchen results in flooding, which I had to clean myself. My initial communication was polite, and I had even emailed to thank you for completing what I acknowledged was a difficult job.

When you returned to fix the leak, the water softener was left not working due to a wiring error. Instead of taking responsibility, I was told to contact BWT myself. BWT confirmed this was unprofessional and advised no engineer was available until January, leaving me without a working system I had already paid for.

There was no follow-up, no aftercare, and no emergency support, despite you knowing my kitchen had already flooded once and the system was unusable.

On Sunday, when I used the washing machine for the first time since the installation, the discharge pipe came loose and flooded the kitchen again. With no support available, I had to call an emergency plumber (£350). That plumber fixed both the discharge issue and the water softener, confirming the problems were resolvable and should not have been left to the customer.

Claims that I shouted at staff are untrue. I spoke firmly due to repeated flooding and being left without a working system, but I was not abusive.

Finally, comments about my review history are irrelevant. I leave negative reviews only when a service fails at a basic level, and positive reviews when companies go beyond expectations. In this case, the service failed on fundamentals: communication, accountability, and proper resolution.

Your review is not correct as we offer a great service and did communicate with you on both occasions within a timely manner. Sometimes things go wrong and we will always correct any issues as we are a reputable company who has been trading for over 55 years with good reviews and customer satisfaction.
We’d like to clarify a few points. Our team installed your water softener and filter kitchen tap which was a difficult installation on Wednesday 17th December and tested it before leaving. When you reported a leak on Friday 19th , we promptly returned within 1 hour to resolve the leak. This was not a flood it was spraying water which you isolated the mains water until we arrived. When you left a message on Sunday 21st December you was contacted by my engineer with 1.5hrs which you did not answer. He then messaged you advising we will return on Monday 22nd December which we did. When you called the office on Monday you shouted and was very rude to my office staff which is out of order as we have done our best to resolve the issues.
Upon our return visit it was noted that the washing machine discharge was unrelated to the water softener installation. Our installation did not alter your washing machine’s waste pipe or drainage system.
We understand this situation is frustrating, and we remain available to assist with any installation-related concerns. However, it’s important to note that product defects and unrelated plumbing issues fall under the manufacturer’s responsibility or general plumbing maintenance.
Please also look at this customers reviews of other companies as they are all negative and seem to be a regular thing.

Unprofessional

A1 cancelled a contracted job involving a gas safety test in a tenanted property without any notice, leaving the tenants angry and waiting around. I was your end customer irrespective of who was in the middle. I invited you to call me and you haven’t which is further evidence that 1 star is too generous. Furthermore, you arranged the appointment with us and should have cancelled it. You are playing a game at my expense as a customer which is poor.

You are not our customer, you have a contract with Your-Repair. We informed them last week that was was not undertaking anymore work for them. This should have been reported to you by them.

So a 1 star review is not fair as we are not at fault.

Excellent Service from A1 Services as usual!!!

Have used A1 Services for a couple of years now and always excellent service, punctual and friendly, knowledgeable engineers. We needed to replace our broken boiler and the A1 team did it in super quick time, engineer excellent and the whole process worked brilliantly. Can't recommend these guys highly enough.

Appalled 😦

Recommend by Mrs S Marriott for New oil boiler heating system installation, and paid for when invoices received. No sign off documentation or certificate ever received. Called and emailed many times, emails we’re not responded to, lies given over the phone. STEER CLEAR not even OFTEC REGISTERED as shows on their website. I know because I have an email from OFTEC.

Excellent service

My boiler suddenly decided not to deliver hot water, despite trying to contact the engineer who maintained it for several years I got no response. Contacted A1 and had an engineer on site within a couple of hours, he returned two days later with the necessary replacement parts. Within a couple of hours all working again. Excellent service, with very pleasant staff and very refreshing to find someone to help out during this difficult time (Corona virus). You've gained a new customer and I will have no difficulty recommending you to family and friends. Thank you again.

…new bathroom installation

Gary arrived at 0800hrs on the first day, the quote from this comany was the most expensive out of the three quotes I received, but I am glad I made the correct choice, the standard of work carried out was very high, completely satisfied with the job and would defo recomnendcthis company for any jobs in the future

Fantastic customer service and a highly…

Fantastic customer service and a highly professional and very efficient repair to our boiler hot water pipe. The engineer (Lee) was a true professional and the online chat functionality ability to explain the problem and show Justin the photo made the entire process simple and highly efficient. The customer service from Dani was also excellent and I would definitely recommend the services of this great company in the future - thanks again Andy

Justin was very knowledgeable and…

Justin was very knowledgeable and explained everything in detail to me (gas regs, building regs etc)
The actual work of installing the new boiler was excellent and Chris (installer) was excellent.
He was a polite, Neat and tidy worker and explained every thing he was doing.
From the consultation to installation, the process was effortless.
I would highly recommend A1 services to anybody.
