Alpha Cars Avis 

Drivers are nice enough but the operators are awful. Booked a taxi at 4pm for it to arrive at 9pm on the app. My booking wasn't officially created until 20.58. I rang at 9 and asked why there wasn't a taxi ready and they said a taxi was on its way and would be 5 minutes. It wasn't until 21.15 that a taxi was on it's way. So the operator lied to me on the phone. Not taking any accountability whatsoever for me having to wait despite booking 5 hours prior or for the person on the phone lying about a taxi being on its way. If I could give 0 stars I would

I use this taxi company a lot the drivers are always courteous , friendly and polite .
Today I was going to the hospital for a MrI scan so I was abit nervous but the driver chatted away and my journey was great .
When I was ready to come back I realised I had lost ny door key the driver rang through to see if I had dropped them in the earlier cab .
Thinking that was the end of it and I would never see the keys again I have just had a knock on the door the taxi driver from this am dropped them off for me me he had found them on the back seat .
Five star 🌟 service would definitely continue to use Alpha cabs .

This is without doubt the worst taxi firm I’ve ever had the misfortune to use! They are constantly late, cancel your taxi without notifying you & are as rude as they come! DONT EVER USE THEM

After booking a cab for a hospital appointment, was told just before that they couldn’t make it and would pick up too late. They failed to take my correct address without checking and left it too late for me to make an alternative booking.

Contacted to get a taxi licence, showed my address , diving licence and emailed phoned all were okay. Went to office and asked £150 in the beginning then said you are not from Merseyside so do you have a friend who works in Alpha or pay £300 to do the course. Cause I don’t live in Merseyside I have to pay double and the course and council giving me licence is Wolverhampton so how is he asking me double. How can having a friend working for alpha help me or money . Just a con unprofessional they want me Oath working for them before I even can get a licence. I didn’t have no issue to work for Alpha but I don’t know nothing about how taxi works this is why I went to them but anyways it was a bad experience and 3 staff were in the office no one seemed interested all were unprofessional eating chatting away rubbish which wasn’t necessary when someone is there for help. I might not live in that area but I am still a customer and behaving like this is just unnecessary remember you were not giving me a licence but just getting me in a course which I was paying for. Licence is given by council not by you Alpha try treating people’s time.

We’ve just used Alpha cars to take us to and bring us home (Pound Hill) from our Christmas Dinner at the Shipley Bridge Hotel. We were very pleased with the service. Our taxi arrived exactly on Schedule to take us to dinner and only took about ten to fifteen minutes to collect as when we called for a cab home. Friendly drivers, excellent service.

Pity I can't give zero stars. Booked an hour and 20 mins in advance, receive automated text message which presumes taxi will be there, it is not. Call up and no available cars, joke of a company!

Awful experience. We booked a taxi in advance for a countryside wedding venue, so we were relying on the taxi turning up. At the initial booking the operator seemed to struggle to understand the request. I was very clear on postcodes and locations, and was assured the booking had been made. This should have been a red flag. When the taxi was late, I phoned and confirmed the location, and was told the taxi was 2 minutes away. Turns out 2 taxis (we’d ordered 1) had been sent to the destination address which was 35 minutes away, leaving us stranded in a remote location with children late at night. No apologies, complete waste of time. If the operators are incompetent, and can’t understand very clear requests, they shouldn’t be working on the phones. AVOID.

Completely useless don’t turn up then you call them oh sorry we get to you when we can useless

got a taxi sunday from lord napier mendip road charged me £7 rang the operater said it should of been £4-80 ripped of again and its happend to me mates before

Train cancellation meant changing the taxi. They didn’t believe it changed, waited until I got there and then sent the taxi out after checking it was genuine,…why would a person lie when out on their own and vulnerable, having no way to get home, but booking it and in good time, asking to change station.
Paying for a service, that they didn’t provide until 10-15 mins later whereby anything could have happened is not right. Late as usual and an utter disgrace

My friend had recently used a taxi and was charged £120 for a ride that should have cost £30. She knew she’d have to pay extra as was sick in the car but £90 more is a bit excessive. Not sure either of us will be using them again

I was pushing my pram across lights that were on green man and very clearly red light for cars and half way crossing the lights one of your drivers came speeding through the red light almost hitting me and my 6 month old baby in his pram luckily I was quick with my reaction and pulled the pram back otherwise this would 100% be a different story but because of this driver who was inconsiderate didn’t even stop and apologise I will now never use your taxi service again and even the fact that when I called to make the company aware all I got was “we will inform the driver that you were upset” I think this was handled poorly and I really wouldn’t have been too bothered if my 6 month old baby weren’t with me but it’s the fact he was with me and if I wasn’t quick enough to pull the pram back your driver would have hit the pram. I used to use alpha all the time until this incident but now I will use argyle if I ever need a taxi again because their drivers are probably a lot more considerate of those around them and will most likely not speed on a red light

I have booked a cab in the morning on their website. They could see the route and all. An hour before the pickup, they sent an email as they cancelled the booking. They had many excuses but needed more service. They do not even care what a customer would do on an occasion like that. I would stay away and not trust them for anything. They are not there to provide a service but to choose whatever they want whenever they want.

Amazing service. Luke at dispatch was great, informative and extremely helpful.

Half an hour late leaving passengers standing in the rain and cold. when we called they blamed us for their lateness saying prior guests had delayed the car. Other groups of guests were also left waiting for smaller cars and given similar excuses when they called to chase. When they finally arrived the car stank of cigarettes, and had clearly been smoked in very recently making it a very unpleasant trip. Bad experience, would not recommend.
