Quality of clothing has deteriorated significantly. Orders paid for and not fulfilled. Very disappointing experience in my latest purchase. After I paid, received email stating that 2 items arrived. Only one item arrived. After spending 2 hours on various calls and chat, learned that 2nd item was not available even though it was charged for this item. What happened to Ann Taylor? Used to be my favorite place to shop. Not anymore.
never again will i buy from Ann Taylor
never again will i buy from Ann Taylor. Purchased two items. One came rolled up like it was garbage and the second item was never shipped. They blamed the carrier but never bothered to send me an email stating that I was not receiving it or worse they never shipped it in the first place. Horrible customer service
Horrible!!
Horrible!!! Ordered a pair of shoes! Never shipped! Called 3 times each time waited on hold forever! Kept being told they would ship and that there was stock in the item. Last time i called they said they couldn’t process the refund! Asked for a supervisor. Kept me on hold for hour! Had to hang up…no resolution or response! NEVER purchase from Ann Taylor!

3x I’ve placed an order that was not delivered
3x I wasted 45 minutes on hold trying to find out what happened to the order
Finally I was told they would place a new order which was much more expensive than my original order
When I questioned this I was then told sorry we don’t have the items anymore
The worst possible customer service
I will NEVER waste my time with Ann Taylor again
Would give zero stars if I could
Would give zero stars if I could. I wish I would have looked up reviews before I tried to purchase from Ann Taylor but I never would have imagined this would happened form a company that was so well respected in the past. Last week, my order was cancelled twice. I spent hours on this Saturday--once with Jennifer Gutierrez as an online chat, and I was kicked off it, even though I kept telling the bot that interrupted us that I was still there (to avoid being kicked off every 59 seconds). I was not only kicked off but my $1,000 order was lost. So then, I called and spoke with Christian who went over every item and we ordered it manually and confirmed everything that was still available (some items were no longer for sale in that short amount of time). I received the confirmation in me email. Then I got an email a day or two later, cancelling the entire order for no reason, which is outrageous.
I emailed twice to ask why--no response.
I was so excited to find out Ann Taylor even still exists and I told the reps that. I'm an older woman who wants a classic style. I asked them to call if any items will be delayed or are out of stock but it made no sense that all the items in a $1,000 order needed to be cancelled.
I spent two hours on this on one of my precious days off of work. I needed these clothes for work. I will make it my mission to give this review everywhere I can think of, which I never do, but this was just beyond...
I have been a VIP long time customer at…
I have been a VIP long time customer at Ann Taylor, spending thousands every year on work clothes. They have been on a serious decline over the past few years in terms of the quality of their clothing, sizing issues, and while using the Ann Taylor card being charged excessive late fees as I am paying on time. You will wait on the chat and on the phone for extended periods of time, only to speak to various representatives that will get you no where, and then you will have to call them again. I had been paying my Ann Taylor bill not only on time but early. I have been doing this consistently for years, literally on the same date. My bank and I called Ann Taylor and Commenity bank on four different occasions. My bank provided documentation that the bill was paid early, but after spending many hours on the phone, mailing proof, etc. the Ann Taylor card refused to take off late fees, insisting, even with documented proof from my bank, that they had no record of my payment. So basically, although I am early in paying my bill, they robbed a long time, loyal VIP (according to them) customer, and had no shame in their game doing so. The next month, they did the same thing again. I paid the bill early, they charged a late fee. I finally just gave up because I didn’t want to invest days and hours with multiple people on the phone. Next, I can say the quality of their clothing has gone down significantly, they use cheap materials that fall apart after the first wear and charge high prices. It used to be you spent the high prices for quality clothing that lasted a long time. In my last encounter with them, I got a “deal” by paying $80 for a dress that was marked as final sale. I normally have to size up two to three sizes when shopping at Ann Taylor as their clothes are not made for curvy women. Everywhere else, I take a size 6 on the bottom, but due to having larger breasts, when I shop at Ann Taylor for dresses, I have to order a size 12 or 14 because they do not make clothing for women with a larger breast size. I don’t get caught up in a size if I like the clothing, so I just size up there. I just purchased a size 6 from Express that was actually large on me, and at the same time I made an on line purchase at Ann Taylor for a size 12 dress that I was initially excited to receive because of the lovely style. When I received the dress, the bottom was big and the top was so small I couldn’t even zipper the dress. This was after going up two sizes of my normal size. I waited 30 minutes to get someone on the chat or phone, only to be met with a refusal to exchange the dress as I was made aware that it was a final sale. So basically, I was again beat out of $80. In the past few months, I have been charged over $100 on late fees when I paid early and my bank submitted proof of this, and then robbed another $80. being forced to keep a dress that is so large on the bottom, and that I can’t zip on the top, so it is rendered useless. This is how they treat their VIP loyal customer of twenty years. Needless to say, I will no longer be shopping there, and they will no longer be charging excessive fees to my account as I pay on time, which by the way effected my credited score. I will be reporting all of this to BBB and I have a feeling it will not be long before Ann Taylor is out of business. They are so desperate for money, they will actually rob you. What a shame, it was once a high quality place to shop with a good reputation.
It is so disappointing how the Ann…
It is so disappointing how the Ann Taylor brand has gone to the dumps. There is no customer service and all the customer service calls go to a call center where they go by a script. I will no longer spend my hard earned money with this company.
Poor customer service
I actually really like their clothes, which is why the online experience was so disappointing. The quality and fit of the things I’ve bought have been good, and the staff in the store were always really nice.
The problem started with my online order. It took much longer than expected to arrive, and when I tried to contact customer service, I had to wait forever for a response. When I finally got one, it didn’t really help with the problem.
I’d still buy from the store, because I like the clothes, but I honestly wish they’d improve their online service and customer support.
Tried to return an item I bought online…
Tried to return an item I bought online at the store so I wouldn't have to pay the return shipping fee. When I got to the store, I was told I couldn't return the item there because I had initiated the return process online (as the website instructed). They told me they'd email me a return label and confirmed that return shipping would be free. However, when Ann Taylor emailed me the label, they told me I'd have to pay for return shipping. I called and spoke to a supervisor, who gave me a case number and said to call back after I received the item refund to request the shipping label refund. Called back, rep told me they couldn't refund the shipping cost, told me a supervisor would return my call, I never got a call back. I have been a loyal Ann Taylor customer for DECADES and I'm disgusted. I won't be shopping there any more.
Sold me items that weren't available, customer service lied
Ordered two blazers that were on sale. I needed them for a conference coming up in a week and a half, so I paid extra for expedited shipping. Five days go by and my order is still "processing", so I reach out to customer service using the chat box. Took a while to be connected, that's fine, but the customer service rep (Richard) was less than helpful and I swear he kept triggering a banner asking "Are you still there?" At first I thought it would pop up after a certain amount of time, but no, it would pop up at uneven intervals, particularly when it was my turn to respond. He eventually told me one of the blazers was on backorder, but that the other one was packaged up and waiting for carrier pickup. I can live with that. I asked about expected carrier pickup and shipping and he gave a non-answer. He seemed checked out, definitely wanted me to move on. So when he triggered the "Are you still there?" banner yet again, I just said no, even though I did not get an answer. I was polite the whole time. Well the next day, I get an email from Ann Taylor saying that both items are unavailable and the order is cancelled. So customer service lied about the package waiting for pickup, and Ann Taylor screwed me over for this conference. What an awful experience.
I wish I had read these reviews before
I wish I had read these reviews before. I inadvertently placed 1 order, paid for the expedited shipping, then ordered something else immediately afterwards and paid for expedited shipping again ($17 x 2). I emailed to ask if there was anything they can do, and got a response that they would only charge me once. Then I had to return one of the items at a cost to me of $10. I called to see if there was anything they could do and apparently they can't. So I've now spent $44 on shipping, with very poor quality clothes & I am sure with customer service like this they will be going under very soon.
Loft/Ann Taylor now has very poor quality clothing
I had a gift card to Loft/Ann Taylor. Was excited to order two nice blouses from AT. One had makeup smudged on collar and neck and smelled revoltingly of body odor. It was also a dull icky light beige and very thin fabric-- nothing like the beautiful cream colored blouse on the Web site. The second blouse was just a plain white button up, but the material was cheap and stiff and the fit was awful. Today I find out AT was bought by private equity around 2020. What a shame. They used to have such nice clothes.
Don’t waste your time with chat
Oh boy, I had to deal with Ann Taylor customer service today for a size exchange and wish I had known what I was getting myself into. It took 2 hours! Don’t bother with chat—it takes a half hour for them to come on, then 10 minutes between each chat. I kept getting almost timed out. And then the agent just stopped talking. I noticed in my account that she had placed a new order for me in the wrong size. I was able to call and an agent was able to straighten it out. Hopefully my new size actually ships. But this was some of the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced.
Their website is awful customer service…
Their website is awful customer service is terrible I ordered two items weeks ago over the phone talking with a woman that could barely speak english never got an order confirmation tried three times to chat the wait time was so long I gave up tried sending emails the website would not let me send it. Never shopping with them again there is definitely something crazy going on with this company
Terrible customer service
I ordered a sweater from Ann Taylor and called their 800 to exchange it for a differnet size. Their online site states for an exchange to call and they will send a replacement with no shipping charge. The person I spoke to said he couldnt do an exchange and I had to place a new order and pay for shipping. I explained to him what their site stated about exchanges and he said it was wrong.... TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
What is wrong with this company?
What is wrong with this company? Trying to place an order online was like climbing Mt. Everest. Placed an order, had to cancel it. Called in so that the coupons could be re-used again. Great rep, but then when I called back, the notes they said they made on my account did not come through. The last rep kept muting me (to giggle with her friends in overseas?!), made me repeat information again... and again... , and it literally took 28 minutes to purchase 2 tops with only 1 of the 2 coupons I was told I would have. Worst customer experience ever, which is saying a lot in this day and age.
Out $1k for Unwearable "Clothes"
I placed an order over $1,000 for clothes I expected to be decent quality. Two items were missing from the order when it arrived and what did arrive was too big (I measured extensively according to their measurements before finalizing the sizes). The quality is laughably awful and cheap all around. Shein would be better quality. When I reached out through their website for a return label for everything, the order would not pull up in the system so I texted customer service as recommended. I was sent in an endless cycle of sending the exact same text with the exact same very clear information to not one, not two, but four different customer service representatives, including screenshots of each interaction at the end to show how ridiculous their gaslighting was. I've never witnessed a company put someone through this much rigamarole.
Ann Taylor is a cheap scam. I will try to drop off the order for a refund at one of their stores, but I don't have high hopes. Stay away from this predatory company with absolutely no regard for its customers.
The Worst Customer Service
My daughter purchased a $200 gift card for me for Ann Taylor/Loft for my birthday last year. It was mailed to me directly from Ann Taylor, a paper card packaged very nicely. When I tried to place an online order using it, I couldn't because some of the numbers hadn't printed onto the paper card. That should have been an easy fix with a phone call.
Unfortunately they have the worst customer service that I have ever encountered. The first person I spoke with said it was no problem, that she would get a new gift card out in the mail. After a few weeks and no gift card, I called back. The rep had no idea what I was talking about, there were no notes. She was (supposedly) going to send my request to the department that handles those issues. As an aside, all of the representatives that I spoke with were extremely difficult to understand.
After not hearing anything for a couple of weeks I called back and asked to speak with a supervisor, which apparently cannot be done.
After calling a couple of more times, I sent an email. Several weeks later I got an email asking if the email address that they were using was the best address to send my gift card. I replied that it was perfect. I sent two follow up emails after hearing nothing for a few weeks.
I finally told my daughter to dispute the charge on her credit card, which she recently did.
In addition to the non-existent "service" from their "customer service" department, their clothing styles and quality have gone down over the past several years.
I finally sent an email expressing my frustration and disappointment at the extremely poor service that I received, how after all that time and aggravation my issue was still not resolved. I assured them that I would never shop at Ann Taylor/Loft again. I never heard back. I'm not surprised.
DON'T SHOP HERE
DON'T SHOP HERE. They consistently cancel orders without notice or provocation WEEKS after they're placed. So you're waiting for your dress, you stop looking and 3 days before you need it they tell you it's CANCELLED. Not an apology. Not a reason. Not a goodwill gesture. Not an intelligible, oxymoronic 'customer service' phone answerer to get you to a supervisor. Too many better options, including Amazon which believe it or not has better customer service and is more reliable.
