Wish I could give negative stars

Wish I could give negative stars. They have taken away all freedom and flexibility to pay. Complete shambles and disappointment. I've never had a problem paying but I am afraid this new set up will lead to issues due to its lack of flexibility and reduced transparency from before. Once I'm paid off I will be leaving Argos for good.

Is it possible to give zero stars 🤷🏻 Absolute minefield trying to re register to Argos Pay. I eventually managed it and closed my account. No more Argos for me. Judging by the volume of negative comments I think Argos/Sainsbury's have scored an own goal teaming up with New Day. Absolute non customer centric culture. Bye bye you will never have my custom again.

Very bad switch experience

Very bad switch experience, couldn’t use my Argos card before the 27th and since then I’m not getting my ORN mail, tried to contact the customer service many times, it’s impossible to reach them, I’m going to drop completely from Argos programs, very poor switch experience and planning. Less sales for Argos.

Total chaos

Had Argos card for years and loved it, now it’s Argos pay it’s a total shambles
My payment plans no monger tell me due payment date I can’t even see how to pay them will pay off and close the account it’s chaos and can’t speak to anyone. Tried to pay off my balance with my credit card but they won’t accept it
This company is a total scam, you can’t even pay off your individual plans how is this legal. No more Argos for me, owed about £4000 on my account got a small loan today paid the card off and closed account, with a sensible interest rate as well

Awful. Absolute scam

You can no longer see normal credit plans and have no flexibility to pay towards a particular plan. They now allocate the payments for you. Because they want the plans to roll over for the interest. Definitely going to result in struggles for alot of people and certainly alot of loss in custom to for Argos. Their phone customer service is absolutely awful too. Will be clearing of any outstanding balances and closing account. New day Ltd are an absolute scam.

Should of never of changed

If Argos think I don’t know what I owe and there gonna put my money to a plan that is far away and tell me I owe they will not like me I know how I plan to clear that card and that’s all I am paying also they can keep there card there app don’t work neither does it recognise your registration details I’ve got no interest in using the card. The only interest I have is paying the card and they can have the card but they certainly won’t be charging me no interest because I will be telling them the money that I’ve paid was to go to the payment that is due. I’ve got a copy of the old payment plan and that’s why I will be sticking to so they won’t be playing that game with me cause I’ll happily take them to Court.

Disappointed with Argos Pay

Since the transfer to Argos Pay, I can no longer decide how I want to allocate my payments. The new app gives no option to do this. I can only assume this is because they want more money from interest. Along with no longer being able to shop in store at Sainsburys, I'll be halting use, paying everything off and closing my account.

complaints? surely not - yep thats right folks the new argos pay app is a shambles now theres a surprise! I paid my card off several months ago you can stick your app thank you i will manage fine without it.

Would give zero stars if possible. Extremely difficult and confusing to navigate app. Can't see final dates on bnpl and no normal credit plan showing. Making a payment is extremely difficult also. Definitely lose a lot of customers as not acceptable.

After having an Argos card for many…

After having an Argos card for many years and liking the flexibility of choosing which plan I would like to pay, the new app and people you have this card with (new day) has finessed it so they will decide where your payments go. Anything with interest they will clear first disallowing you to pay off a plan, meaning you’ll ecru interest on that plan if you haven’t finished paying off something on normal credit. A complete SCAM to extort more interest from you.

Argos pay

The new Argos pay is not great as it doesn't tell you what date you have to finish paying for anything that you've put on buy now pay later all it gives you is the start date I prefer the old way at least you knew when it had to be paid for i think in future once I've finished paying I'll be getting rid of the account

The new pay system with new day is…

The new pay system with new day is terrible, it's highly complicated and looks to be a scam as you can't choose which payment plan you wish to pay off .I think unless things improve it will be the downfall of Argos.

Money grabber

They changed it to Argos pay. I always get buy now pay later no interest. Been with them for years. Now they changed it they put interest on every buy now pay later. Shamed on you robbing. Paying it off and will not use again! Bye I hope you lose customers!!

Changed to Argos pay so i'm leaving. Goodbye, final answer!

The initial system was reasonable i was utilising my card for Sainsbury's fuel. They are updating to the new Argos pay from 12th or 17th April 2026 (confusing as to which date it will change as both dates mentioned). Nevertheless i will settle up my statement and won't have any use for the card anymore. Why change a system that was working? Nice doing business Argos but unfortunately we will be severing ties from here on in.

Argos card payment system keeps rejecting 0.01p

There is something very strange about the card payment system. It keeps rejecting 0.01 of the payment. This will cause you payment to be late which will be registered on your credit file and incurs a £12 pounds late fee payment. Argos card payment team is aware of the problem(spoken to them on all occasions), yet is it still continuing. This problem has happened to me three times. Others be warned if you are getting late fee charges arising from owing Argos card 0.01p

I would never recommend an Argos pay…

I would never recommend an Argos pay later alternative. I got an Argos card just before Christmas as my son wanted a Nintendo switch and I wanted to split the cost until April. Anyway, the first card didn’t arrive and after a month of me ordering it I had to chase it up. I then got one. My bag was then stolen on holiday just before my last 2 payments and I did not have my card details or app. So had to call Argos to sort this out. It is a CHORE to speak to a real person. The AI voice telling you you need your Argos card number or to hang up is so misleading. Eventually I managed ti get through by googling and saying ‘stolen’ a million times. I then had another card sent to me. But again - this one was VERY late arriving and again was over a month. I again had to chase this up and they sent me another one. A card did arrive and it was the original one they sent out - a month and a half after I requested it. So when I went to register it it didn’t work and I had to call up for another one again. Eventually they put me through to the number where you can pay off the balance without the card (this has to be done through them) and if you don’t type your info in fast enough then it’s cut off and you have to call again. I managed to pay it off in time but this process should not be so disorganised and complicated and I am so glad I didn’t use the card for anything else. I will say the people I spoke to on the phone were very nice so this is not aimed at the staff
