I want to say something about this place let everyone know about some people in the kitchen need to learn manners they have none at all. What would your parents say how to treat new employees. I'm not going to name names but it's sad to be that age and to act like a child. Not willing to help me with any training they expect u to learn in 3 days. Not enough training if u ask me but what do I know. I came from a different field. Your going to deal with it. I have a right to be there just like u do. I'm. Not afraid of anyone. I only listen to my boss no one else. If u are not my boss dont act like one. Thanks I'm not look for drama!either. Can't say that enough cuz ton of people love it.
Hi all, parent attended Atria Arbour Lake Calgary. This is an expensive place. Food is good, generally staff is very good with few exceptions. Staff turnover is very high and often there is insufficient staff. If Laundry machine breaks down it will take 3 months to get it fixed. If there is a flood Atria will not accept any accountability nor responsibility nor take corrective measures. Go to for senior staff is to blame residents. Getting needed assistance from staff , receipts etc. can take months. Expect regular rent increases even if a better unit is renting for less. I do not recommend.
Buyer Beware!!!
Atria North Point is a decent place for a loved one to stay, until your loved one's needs change. Then the monster comes out!
Do not fool yourself. Atria is a for-profit business. The institution only cares about two things: profitability and compliance.
Imagine your parent residing in one of these facilities--interacting with fellow residents, enjoying amenities, going on day trips, and living life to the best of their ability. Now, picture a day when they don't feel well and end up in the hospital, only to receive a terminal illness diagnosis.
The facility, under the guise of "patient care," may choose to involuntarily discharge them, disrupting their familiar surroundings and support network.
Imagine the added stress when you discover that your parent is being involuntarily discharged from their current facility. The reason? They no longer fit the facility's ideal resident profile, and their care has become an unacceptable cost.
While there are valid instances where this approach is necessary--such as when a patient requires specialized care beyond the facility's capabilities--there's a darker side to this practice.
Facility administrators often cite a lack of staff or resources as the rationale behind these decisions. They claim they want what's best for your parent by directing you to find a "more appropriate" type of care elsewhere. They use the guise of "concern for the patient" to maintain profitability and regulatory ratings.
Atria North Point has recently pulled this stunt on our loved one. Before you decide to live at this facility specifically, or any adult-care facility in general, be sure to ask under what situations this occurs. Get them to give you specific criteria that takes your loved one from a profitable asset to a profit-losing burden.
Thank you for reading!
Best of luck to you and your family!
Mark
I. visited Atria. on Almaden Expressway. and I was extremely impressed. Mia gave me a. tour and answered all my questions. Shay, the business manager went over the paper work with me and made sure I understood everything. I was very impressed with the staff and the beautiful facility.
I cannot express enough how wonderful our experience with Atria Woodbriar Place in Falmouth MA has been. My parents have only been residents here for a short while, and already they have become an extended family to them and us. They go above and beyond to meet their needs. The building is beautiful, clean and the food is first rate. They have also done a wonderful job of keeping families connected during a pandemic. I highly recommend Atria for your parents. You will not be disappointed. I worked in healthcare all my life so the bar is high and Atria has meet my expectations and more.
