BankTree Personal Finance Avis 10

I am using BankTree as a replacement for MS Money and find it to be excellent. Does everything I need including the ability to update share and unit trust prices. The software is easy to use and there are the online tutorials if you get stuck with anything. Tried quite a few different packages and settled on this as it's the best by far.

I've been using BankTree Online for several months now, and it has truly transformed how I manage my finances. The interface is so easy to use, and setting everything up was a breeze. I love how I can sync all my accounts-bank, credit cards, and investments-and see everything in one place. The dashboard gives me a clear picture of my spending, upcoming bills, and overall balance.

What really stands out is how detailed the budgeting and tracking features are. I can categorize every expense and see where my money is going, plus the reports help me understand my financial trends. The ability to set goals and track progress has made budgeting feel less overwhelming and more motivating.

Security is a big deal for me, and BankTree gives me peace of mind with its encryption and two-factor authentication. The mobile app is just as good as the desktop version, so I can check everything on the go.

Customer support has been amazing whenever I've had questions-they're always quick to help.

Overall, BankTree Online has made managing my finances so much easier and more organized. It's definitely worth trying if you want a simple, secure, and powerful finance tool. I'm so glad I found it!

Very good Banking programme.
I only use it for checking my High Street Bank Accounts which it does very well.
There doesn't appear to be anything it can't do, it is so versatile and very comprehensive.
The online support is excellent, very helpful.

Absolute nightmare. Spent many days trying to import CSV and Bank Sync to work - constantly getting duplicates, even after the end of the csv imports. Was told that you can't mix the two.
Support is incredibly arrogant - never admitting when something doesn't work after repeatedly asking specific questions.
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME.

Having seen the demise of Quicken and then MS Money, I bought this program back in the early 2010s. Yes, it's not as good as the aforementioned programs and it does take a bit of ingenuity to work around it's strange, unintuitive functionality, but it does the things I need, including creating a report I can use for my tax return. I only use the PC version - I tried the online version but it's awful.

In terms of functionality, when entering a transaction you can skip between fields with the Tab key but you can't enter the amount by just pressing Enter. It has a self-generating list of payees but if you make a mistake it's difficult/impossible to remove the ones added in error, even though there are no transactions associated with them, so you get a load of rather annoying badly typed payees.

Split transactions are not separated out when you export a register (you only see that they are split and the net amount) but they are when you create a report. This is handy for, say, rental income where there are deductions from the payment.

Last tax year I used BankTree to create a report from all my accounts into one .csv file relating to income/expenditure from property and other income, plus tax deductions. I have to edit/sort the .csv file but what I end up with is something I can give to my accountant to more or less drop into my tax return.

This has great possibilities when it comes to Making Tax Digital as it is much simpler for someone with a very small property portfolio and income from other sources. MTD programs aimed at property investors are far too complicated.

You'll need to be able to use Excel to sort out the exported .csv file though.

For those with simpler finances BankTree is still a good way to keep a track of expenditure and what it's all going on, assuming you're interested of course. Yes, you could use a spreadsheet but if you have multiple account that's going to be complicated and there is too much room for errors in the spreadsheet.

Have transferred over from another personal finance software and wish I'd started with Banktree from the beginning. I am an accountant but don't think novices will find it difficult to navigate with a little patience. Have found other apps so frustrating with their limitations on adapting to deal with your own categories and customisation for various reports and tax returns. Banktree has a good range of synchronisation with banks available in UK, which fell short with many other apps, which mostly concentrated on US. This is by far the best personal finance app for the UK and have been looking for one for a long time.

The software is good but I constantly have problems with their integration with banking access and the ability to download bank statements. The main reasion for 3 stars is the customer service who are not always helpful.

Made the move across from the unsupported Home Accountz software to Banktree about a year ago, it took a month or so to make the full transition and get used to the software but after running the two systems in parallel for that time I was confident enough to ditch my trusty old software entirely.

Having bitten the bullet I can honestly say I'm pleased I did. I use the online version and find the ability to design bespoke reports and then save those settings as a bookmark if really useful. The interface is reasonably intuitive and you get used to the quirks of the software quite quickly.

I download CSV reports which I drop in to my own, bespoke, spreadsheets which gives me information in a format that I want to see it.

Being able to access the software from any computer works well for me and the iPhone app, with somewhat limited functionality in it's free mode, is useful.

I also like the ability to download transactions from my bank, even if it is restricted to three institutions.

There are some things that need to be sorted in the software (for instance, mixing expenditure and transfers in the SPLIT option doesn't seem to work satisfactorily) but for my purposes it does what it needs to do and it does it well.

Four stars awarded only because I believe that to score five stars you have to be knocking it out of the park on every single metric and, as I say, there are some minor, but frustrating, quirks that you need to teach yourself to work around.

If you are looking for a solid, UK focused, home accounts software package you could do much worse than this tidy offering. I highly recommend it.

Good software and fairly easy for a techno numpty like me to use. I have been using this since 2013.

However, I find online support to be very difficult to navigate and once when I used live online support, the adviser was quite terse and unfriendly, making me feel exceptionally stupid.

Have been looking for a viable alternativy to MYOB and all other personal accounting softwares, and BankTree online is by far the most suitable for my needs.

I have been using BankTree online since May 2020.

A little bit old fashioned in look and feel, but solid and working well. Probably more suitable for someone who understands the basics of accounting.

Some niggles with some user interface elements, and sometimes really slow server responses times when you save transactions, but overall pretty good.
