Better - Gym Bradford Avis 

jumiors gym visit only once a week and pating £16.00

Bradford branch. Old equipment. Most of it is either damaged or broken. Toilets/shower area is very filthy unhygienic.

Not for young women. Booked an induction and stood around waiting for five minutes- no staff, no customer service, just loads of blokes glaring at me. Couldn't even ask when a quieter time was as NO STAFF. If I just didn't show up to a meeting without explanation/reason, I'd get fired. Not going back as so unfriendly and uncomfortable.

Also the "women's only" area is so cramped. Allegedly the main floor isn't men's only but for general use- someone should tell the blokes that. The amount of grown men throwing weights about, grunting theatrically and side eyeing me while I was just standing and waiting was unreal. Gym intimidation is a gender-based issue but this is obviously of no concern here.

Edited to add: Spoke to staff member on phone. No apologies or explanation. Very dismissive and rude, genuinely didn't seem to care at all. Apparently staff don't check if they have inductions booked in, they fully expect customers to actively seek them out (which is wild). But yeah, glad I didn't bother with this gym.

Requesting full refund but highly recommend any woman goes elsewhere.

Edit after reply: As stated on the phone to the staff member, I did go past customer service office and it looked empty. There was also no instructions on my booking to report to customer service- every other gym (Pure Gym) you just stand near the front and the staff member will greet you.

They offered a woman to give induction yes, but as I said on the phone to the member of staff that doesn't fix the fundamental issue of no one bothering to show up for my original induction and why is it my responsibility as a customer to have to rearrange when I did what was correct the first time? There was also no option to select a female led induction on the booking form (or I would have selected it). I don't really care about gender, I just wanted the induction I signed up for.

Similarly, if this staff member doesn't check if they have inductions will I just be stood about again?

It is the problem of the centre that they don't have the capacity or structure to cleanly accommodate the inductions they freely offer, this is not an issue that should be passed onto the customer.

As I told the staff member on the phone, clearly staff don't care about new starters as shown by their attitude and dismissal on the phone. I fully believe I only received this phone call because we had phoned Corporate customer service (who was lovely and very helpful)- who also couldn't get through to any staff at the Bradford Centre. As I said on the phone, I doubt any staff would've even noticed the planned induction didn't go ahead if I hadn't said something first. The response makes it appear as though the staff member called on his own accord which is not true.

All I wanted was an actual apology from the staff member and just accountability that they dropped the ball and should have a better system for inductions rather than: "come find us yourself".

As shown by the customer service response: Better Gym are more interested in looking like they care than actually putting the work in. I would've given another chance if the staff member on the phone wasn't rude and dismissive but nah. No chance.

I joint and as soon as you go in you can tell it’s lacking looking after straightvaway. Cleansingness of place is not upto date! The sauna room I couldn’t even bare thinkinking of sitting without thinking id come out with more infections. The side panels around the gym are off putting. The women gym too small and stuffy and no windows. Feel like suffocation so won’t do gym there just Zumba. Staff are good but it needs paint, skirting boards are just rotting in the centre. I only come for Samera nothing else otherwise I would be in pure gym. Where at least always see the cleaners etc.

Overall the gym is great and very clean just one problem is that their is only one stairs master machine in the women section it would be useful to have one more as we have to wait for each other

Less machines in women's section especially squad one they don't have it there / less weights and no female coach to ask about something you need.
Women's toilet and shower very far from women's section.

But the guys there's they're very nice.

I give 5 star just only one thing the better uk not working well not too much cutomers or people in gym the main thing its not 24 hour gym , if its become a 24 hours gym or close late then it a prrfect gym in uk , its my opinion but its work 💯% even you try this only for few months

At first from the reviews I thought that better wouldn’t be as good. However, when I applied to better (since it was my only option) I am honest mind-blown by how good it is compared to my other gym, my other gym offered me £35 a month to use little equipment whereas, better gym is £19.95 a month which is a total bargain if u ask me! And the equipment is perfect and in good condition! I won’t be leaving anytime soon!

There are not enough dumbbells in the gym. You have to wait 10 minutes to get a pair of dumbbells.
The leg press machine is so dangerous and not standard. Its mechanism is so old and if it lock, easily it breaks your legs and knees.

Its only been a week since i joined with better gym and its been ok, wouldnt say its great. I dont like that the sauna is shared with males. Ladies should have a seperate sauna, would be nice to relax after a work out. Also ladies gym is not very big and there is limited equipment, would be nice to have more so we are not waiting around for machines to be free.

this company is doing great job providing great atmosphere with new machines & decent staff it is my first experience & first gym & had a great experience. better gym with better environment.

I use this Gym till 2017 ! Unfortunately this place is not clean especially shower and sona !!!
I am so disappointed as staff and manager are really helpful but the place is gone down !!
I am not sure if I still going to Cary on my membership !

It is good gym staff are friendly

The women’s section needs to be more bigger with more equipment, I find my self only using equipment that works for just the legs only. Quite a lot of women go to this gym and it’s quite small and the men’s section have a lot more equipment for different things. I’ve got anxiety and the last thing I want to do is go into the men’s section to use their equipment instead.

Excellent facilities, the best in the area especially for female only gyms. You can attend with just female staff allowed in the area and plenty of kit, clean and great management who really go out of their way to take care of you and offer you and outstanding service.

I tried this club for the first time and I was disappointed at how dirty and unventilated this place is, it's old, worn, dirty, it sticks to your hands, all the appliances are disgusting.
